As applying an active control technique to a pneumatic vibration isolation system, the settling time for the payload excitation could be remarkably reduced as well as the improvement of isolation performance for the ground vibration. Some previous researches were dealt with the settling time through the simulation or experiment but, the discussion on the simulation or experimental results including moving parts, such as a XY-stage, on the isolation table rarely exists. As considering the moving part, the dynamic model could be time varying system and in such a case the force imposed on pneumatic vibration isolation table could be described by inertial forces of moving parts according to Newton's 3rd law, the action and reaction law. In this paper, the simulation procedure of the 3-DOF active pneumatic vibration isolation system including moving parts by TDC(time delay control) technique is proposed and the effectiveness through simulation results are also shown.

In this paper, a full-wave rectifier (FWR) with a simple vibration detector suitable for use with vibrational energy harvesting systems is presented. Conventional active FWRs where active diodes are used to reduce the diode voltage drop and increase the system efficiency are usually powered from the output. Output-powered FWRs exhibit relatively high efficiencies because the comparators used in active diodes are powered from the stable output voltage. Nevertheless, a major drawback is that these FWRs consume power from the output storage capacitor even when the system is not harvesting any energy. To overcome the problem, a technique using a simple vibration detector consisting of a peak detector and a level converter is proposed. The vibration detector detects whether vibrational energy exists or not in the input terminal and disables the comparators when there is no vibrational energy. The proposed FWR with the vibration detector is designed using a $0.35-{\mu}m$ CMOS process. Simulation results have verified the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. By using the proposed vibration detector, a decrease in leakage current by approximately 67,000 times can be achieved after the vibration disappears.
Mechanical dampers have been proved to be one of the most effective countermeasures for vibration mitigation of stay cables in various cable-stayed bridges over the world. However, for long stay cables, as the installation height of the damper is restricted due to the aesthetic concern, using passive dampers alone may not satisfy the control requirement of the stay cables. In this connection, semi-active MR dampers have been proposed for the vibration mitigation of long stay cables. Although various studies have been carried out on the implementation of MR dampers on stay cables, the optimal damping performance of the cable-MR damper system has yet to be evaluated. Therefore, this paper aims to investigate the effectiveness of MR damper as a semi-active control device for the vibration mitigation of stay cable. The mathematical model of the MR damper will first be established through a performance test. Then, an efficient semi-active control strategy will be derived, where the damping of MR damper will be tuned according to the dynamic characteristics of stay cable, in order to achieve optimal damping of cable-damper system. Simulation study will be carried out to verify the proposed semi-active control algorithm for suppressing the cable vibrations induced by different loading patterns using optimally tuned MR damper. Finally, the effectiveness of MR damper in mitigating multi modes of cable vibration will be examined theoretically.
Recent advances in the field of control theory have enabled us to design active vibration control systems for various structures. In many studies, the controller used to suppress vibration has been synthesized for the given mathematical model of structure. In these cases, the designer has not been able to utilize the degree of freedom to adjust the structural parameters of the control object. To overcome this problem, so called 'Structure/Control Simultaneous Optimization Method' is used. In this context of view, this paper is concerned with the active vibration control of bridge towers, platforms and ocean vehicles etc. Simultaneous design method is used to achieve optimal system performance. Here, a general framework for the simultaneous design problem of output feedback case is introduced based on LMI (Linear Matrix Inequality). The simulation results show that the proposed design method achieves desirable control performance.
In this work, a new active hybrid mount featuring piezostack actuator and rubber element is proposed, and its vibration control performance is evaluated by applying a robust frequency-shaped sliding mode controller. After describing the configuration of the proposed mount, vibration control performances are experimentally evaluated. A mount system with four active hybrid mounts is then constructed. To attenuate vibrations on the supported mass, a frequency-shaped sliding mode controller is designed and implemented to the system. Finally, control performances are obtained and presented in time and frequency domains via computer simulation.
This paper presents an inertia type of piezostack based active mount for unmanned aero vehicle (UAV) camera system. After identifying the stiffness and damping properties of the rubber element and piezostack a mechanical model of the active mount system is established. The governing equation of mount is them derived and expressed in a state space farm. Subsequently, a sliding mode controller which is robust to uncertain parameters is designed in order to reduce the vibration imposed according to the military specification associated with UAV camera mount system operation. Control performances such as acceleration and transmitted force are evaluated through both computer simulation and experimental implementation.

This research is concerned with the multiple PPF and the modified LQG controller design for active vibration control of intelligent structures. The intelligent structure is defined as the structure equipped with smart actuators and sensors. Various control techniques aimed for the piezoceramic sensors and actuators have been proposed for the active vibration control of smart structures and some of them prove their effectiveness experimentally. In this paper, the multiple PPF controller and the modified LQG controller are developed and applied to the smart grid structure. The multiple PPF control and the modified LQG control can be classified as the classical and the modern control techniques. respectively. The experimental results show that both control techniques are effective in suppressing vibrations. Two control techniques are compared with respect to the design process. the ease of implementation and the effectiveness
As environmental vibration requirements on precision equipment become more stringent. use of pneumatic isolators has become more popular and their performance is subsequently required to be further improved. Dynamic performance of passive pneumatic isolators is related to various design parameters in a complicated manner and, hence, is very limited especially in low frequency range by volume of chambers. In this study, an active control technique, so called time delay control which is considered to be adequate for a low frequency or nonlinear system, is applied to a single chamber pneumatic isolator. The procedure of applying the time delay control law to the pneumatic isolator is presented and its effectiveness in enhancement of transmissibility performance is shown based on simulation and experiment. Comparison between passive and active pneumatic isolators is also presented.
