  • The vibration and noise reduction issue is very important in helicopter since the thrust and flight control force of helicopter are generated by rotating drive system. In past, there was a passive method to reduce vibration and noise to focus on specified frequency. Now, there are various active method to reduce vibration and noise due to technology development. This paper describes the worldwide technology trend of vibration and noise active control in helicopter. At introduction, generalmethod of vibration and noise reduction.

  • Background: Although studies have been conducted on muscle thickness and balance in trunk stabilization exercise and exercise using vibration props, studies on trunk stabilization exercise using active vibration for spinal alignment are still insufficient to draw a conclusion. Objectives: To investigate the effect of trunk stabilization exercise using active vibration on the spinal alignment in adult females. Design: A randomized controlled trial. Methods: Twenty-six adult females were randomly assigned to the experimental group (active vibration) and 13 control groups (active non-vibrating) and exercised three times a week for 8 weeks. Each group was measured for spinal alignment before exercise and 8 weeks after exercise. Spinal alignment, trunk imbalance, pelvic tilt, and pelvic torsion were measured using a spinal alignment analyzer. Results: Trunk imbalance was a significantly different depending on the time in the experimental group and the control group (P<.05). Pelvic tilt was a significant difference between the groups (P<.05). Also, pelvic tilt was a significantly different depending on the time in the experimental group (P<.05), but the control group showed no significant difference (P>.05). Pelvic torsion was no significant difference in both groups (P>.05). Conclusion: This study demonstrates that trunk stabilization exercise using active vibration has a positive effect on the alignment of the spine.

  • In this paper, we have studied on the active vibration control of an automotive roof in passenger car's structure using piezoelectric material as the actuator and sensor attached on the surface of the automotive roof, As a control algorithm, negative velocity feedback control method is used in the study and the position of the sensor is almost attached on the nearest position of maximum normal stresses occurring while the roof is vibrating due to disturbance or exciting, Also, the actuator is attached on the other side mostly collocated to the sensor. The optimum positions have the maximum stresses of the roof which have been found in the result of the finite element analysis using Nastran software, As the fundamental experiments, a beam and plate have also been implemented to verify the performance of vibration suppression. Finally the experiment of the roof has been carried out and The roof experiment has just given a possibility to an active vibration control of the automotive structure still not applied for passenger cars.

  • In this work, a new active hybrid mount featuring piezostack actuator and rubber element is proposed, and its vibration control performance is evaluated by applying a robust frequency-shaped sliding mode controller. After describing the configuration of the proposed mount, vibration control performances are experimentally evaluated. A mount system with four active hybrid mounts is then constructed. To attenuate vibrations on the supported mass, a frequency-shaped sliding mode controller is designed and implemented to the system. Finally, control performances are obtained and presented in time and frequency domains via computer simulation.

  • This paper presents vibration control performance of an active hybrid mount featuring piezostack actuators. The proposed hybrid mount is devised by adopting piezostack as an active actuator and rubber as a passive element. After experimentally identifying actuating force characteristics of the piezostack and dynamic characteristics of the rubber, the hybrid mount was designed and manufactured. Subsequently, a vibration control system with a specific mass loading is constructed, and its governing equations of motion are derived. In order to actively attenuate vibration transmitted from the base, a feedforward controller is formulated and experimentally realized. Vibration control responses are then evaluated in time and frequency domains.

  • As the most precision equipment requiring very strict vibration environment are vulnerable to the surrounding vibration condition, they adapt the passive or active vibration isolation system. When it comes to the passive isolation system, the resonance of the isolation system causes excessive resonance response, and finally results in the degrade the equipment performance. This paper deals with the active control method to control this resonance induced response, and includes the experiment on the active control for controlling the resonance response on the table against the excitation of the same frequency with the natural frequency of the isolation system. The electromagnetic actuator was designed and the control effect was verified by the experiment. The experiment showed that the electromagnetic actuator is effective for controlling the low frequency isolation resonance response of the precision equipment.

  • In this paper a new dynamic damper driven by DC linear electric motor, is proposed for suppressing wide-band vibration. First, the reason for the incapability of a conventional dynamic damper to suppress wide-band vibration is explained. Then, with its defects taken into consideration, the principle of wide-band vibration control is presented. Finally, experiments ar conducted verifying the control effect of the active dynamic damper for suppressing wide-band vibration.

  • Main sources of increased vibrations and air noise on ship are main and auxiliary engines and ship ducts. The various ways of transfer of vibration energy and air noise in passenger cabin of a vessel require, in general case, of various methods of attenuation. The transfer of vibration energy from engines through a support requires, alongside with shock-absorbers, availability active shock-absorbers. The transfer of vibration energy and hydrodynamic noise on ship ducts requires availability, alongside with flexible muffler, active mufflers. The availability of air noise from working equipment can require, along with absorbent covers, of space systems of active noise control. In the given article it is spoken about the unified approach to formation of the block-diagram of active noise and vibration control. The complex approach permits to receive additional efficiency in reduction of noise in passenger cabin of vessels.

  • Mechanical dampers have been proved to be one of the most effective countermeasures for vibration mitigation of stay cables in various cable-stayed bridges over the world. However, for long stay cables, as the installation height of the damper is restricted due to the aesthetic concern, using passive dampers alone may not satisfy the control requirement of the stay cables. In this connection, semi-active MR dampers have been proposed for the vibration mitigation of long stay cables. Although various studies have been carried out on the implementation of MR dampers on stay cables, the optimal damping performance of the cable-MR damper system has yet to be evaluated. Therefore, this paper aims to investigate the effectiveness of MR damper as a semi-active control device for the vibration mitigation of stay cable. The mathematical model of the MR damper will first be established through a performance test. Then, an efficient semi-active control strategy will be derived, where the damping of MR damper will be tuned according to the dynamic characteristics of stay cable, in order to achieve optimal damping of cable-damper system. Simulation study will be carried out to verify the proposed semi-active control algorithm for suppressing the cable vibrations induced by different loading patterns using optimally tuned MR damper. Finally, the effectiveness of MR damper in mitigating multi modes of cable vibration will be examined theoretically.
