Power Allocation Method for Multiple ESS Control Considering SOC Balancing in Microgrids (마이크로그리드에서 SOC균형을 고려한 ESS의 충·방전 전력배분 방법)

  • In this paper, multiple ESS(Energy Storage System) control strategy for microgrids is presented. Installation of ESS becomes mandatory when microgrids are used to supply high quality power to the loads. The one of main functions of the ESS is to maintain power balance. However ESS has limitation of its capacity and instantaneous injecting power. Power allocation method based on SOC(State Of Charge) of each ESS is proposed. P-Q control is employed as the basic control strategy for the distributed ESSs. By using the proposed method, the coefficients in the conventional P-Q control method are modified. The ESSs with higher SOC inject more active power, while those with lower SOC inject less, leading to more balanced SOC levels among the ESSs. The proposed method is demonstrated by simulation using PSCAD/EMTDC.

  • This study proposes a neutral voltage balance control scheme for stable fault-tolerant operation of an active neutral point clamped (ANPC) inverter using carrier-based pulse width modulation. The proposed scheme maintains the neutral voltage balance by reconfiguring the switching combination and modulating the reference output voltage in order to solve the degradation of the output characteristic in the fault tolerant operation due to the fault of the power semiconductor switch constituting the ANPC inverter. The feasibility of the proposed control scheme is confirmed by HIL experiment using RT-BOX.

  • 본 논문은 패시브 셀 밸런싱과 액티브 셀 밸런싱의 에너지 손실 비교에 관한 연구내용이다. 패시브 셀 밸런싱은 저항을 이용하여 과충전된 셀의 에너지를 소모하는 방식이며 액티브 셀 밸런싱은 SSC(Single Switched Capacitor) 구조를 이용하여 높은 에너지 셀의 에너지를 낮은 에너지 상태의 셀로 전달하는 방식이다. 높은 셀과 낮은 셀의 SOC(State Of Charge)의 차이가 5% (0.085 V)일 때 ∆SOC = 3% (∆V = 0.051 V)로 줄이기 위해 패시브 셀 밸런싱과 액티브 셀 밸런싱을 하여 두 셀 밸런싱의 에너지 손실 차이를 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통하여 비교한다.

  • This paper proposes a convenient thermal modeling method for loss distribution control method of 3-level Active NPC(Neutral Point Clamped) inverter. In the drawback of conventional 3-level NPC, the generated losses can occur unbalance in each switching device, as a result, thermal utilization of designed system has been decreased. In order to compensate unbalanced losses, Active NPC inverter performed loss balancing control with thermal modeling during operation of each switching device. Therefore, this paper deals with a convenient thermal modeling method based on newton's law of cooling rather than conventional thermal modeling method. Both simulation and experimental results based on 10kW 3-level Active NPC inverter confirm the validity of the analysis performed in the study.

  • This paper presents the analysis of series active power filter for reactive power compensation, load balancing, harmonic elimination, and neutral current eradication in three-phase four-wire power systems. Generally, the three-phase four-wire system is widely employed in distributing electric energy to several office building and manufacturing plants. In such systems, the third harmonic and its 3rd harmonics are termed as triple and zero sequence components that do not cancel each other in the system neutral. Consequently, the triple harmonics add together creating a primary source of excessive neutral current. Regarding this concern, this paper presents a new control algorithm for a series hybrid active system, whereas the control approach it adopts directly influence its compensation characteristics. Hence, the advantage of this control algorithm is the direct extraction of compensation voltage reference without phase transformations and multiplying harmonic current value by gain and the required rating of the series active filter is much smaller than that of a conventional shunt active power filter. In order to show the effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm, experiments have been carried out.

A semi-active acceleration-based control for seismically excited civil structures including control input impulses

  • Structural acceleration regulation is a means of managing structural response energy and enhancing the performance of civil structures undergoing large seismic events. A quadratic output regulator that minimizes a measure including the total structural acceleration energy is developed and tested on a realistic non-linear, semi-active structural control case study. Suites of large scaled earthquakes are used to statistically quantify the impact of this type of control in terms of changes in the statistical distribution of controlled structural response. This approach includes the impulses due to control inputs and is shown to be more effective than a typical displacement focused control approach, by providing equivalent or better performance in terms of displacement and hysteretic energy reductions, while also significantly reducing peak story accelerations and the associated damage and occupant injury. For earthquake engineers faced with the dilemma of balancing displacement and acceleration demands this control approach can significantly reduce that concern, reducing structural damage and improving occupant safety.

  • 무선 네트워크를 통해 인터넷에 접속하려는 이동노드 수가 늘어남에 따라 다수의 이동노드에게 무선 서비스를 제공해야하는 HA(Hone Agent)와 FA(Foreign Agent)에서의 부하도 함께 증가하고 있다. 특히 지역적 등록(Regional Registration)에서와 같이 투선 네트워크 도메인의 최상위 FA가 현재 도메인에 로밍한 모든 이동노드의 COA로 동작함으로 인해 발생하는 부하는 최상위 FA에서 혼잡 및 지연의 원인이 된다. 이에 본 논문에서는 최상위 FA에서 발생말 수 있는 부하를 하위 FA에게 분산하기 위하여 두 가지 접근방법인 Passive Approach와 Active Approach를 제안한다 Passive Approach는 부모 FA가 부하 분산 시점을 결정하여 자식 FA에게 분산해주는 기법이고 Active Approach는 임의의 FA가 스스로 분산 시점을 결정하여 상위 FA에서 발생할 수 있는 부하를 완화시켜주는 기법이다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 Active Approach의 한 형태를 띠고 있는 기존 연구인 LNSP 기법과 성능을 비교하여 가장 효율적인 부하 분산 방법을 제시한다.

  • This paper describes the motivation, design and performance of bi-active Load balancer in Linux Virtual Server. The goal of bi-active Load balancer is to provide a framework to build highly scalable, fault-tolerant services using a large cluster of commodity servers. The TCP/IP stack of Linux Kernel is extended to support three IP load balancing techniques, which can make parallel services of different kinds of server clusters to appear as a service on a single IP address. Scalability is achieved by transparently adding or removing a node in the cluster. and high availability is provided by detecting node or daemon failures and reconfiguring the system appropriately. Extensive simulation reveals that the proposed approach improves the reply rate about 20% compared to earlier design.

  • 본 논문에서는 직렬 연결된 스위칭 소자에서 발생할 수 있는 전압 불평형의 원인을 분석하고 이를 제거할 수 있는 능동 게이트 구동 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 스위치의 턴오프 경로에 트랜지스터를 추가하여 전압 불평형 정도에 따라 각 소자의 스위칭 속도를 조절함으로써 전압 불평형을 제거한다. 제안하는 방법의 확인을 위하여 SiC MOSFET을 이용한 전력변환회로를 대상으로 모의실험을 실시하였고, 제안하는 방법이 전압 불평형의 제거에 효과적임을 검증하였다.

  • 본 논문은 병렬-입력 직렬-출력 구조의 모듈형 DAB (Dual active bridge) 컨버터의 출력 전압 평형 제어기법을 제안한다. 이를 위해, 먼저 모듈형 DAB 컨버터를 모델링하고 계층형 슬라이딩모드(Hierarchical SMC) 제어기를 설계한다. 제안된 기법을 시뮬레이션을 통해 검증한다.
