Purpose This paper examines the role of local market-based communities in driving regional revitalization, using detailed analysis of online networks. We aim to dissect a local community's communication network, highlighting members with high engagement levels and exploring their characteristics. Our goal is to identify the conditions that allow local community networks to grow independently and to demonstrate how the activation of these networks contributes to regional revitalization. Design/methodology/approach We employ a mixed-methods approach, combining social network analysis with statistical techniques to investigate the structure of online communication networks. Specifically, we use ANOVA to determine the statistical significance of our findings, ensuring their reliability. To complement our quantitative data, we include qualitative insights from interviews, adding depth and context to our analysis. Findings Our results show that individuals with high centrality in the online network are crucial for maintaining active local communities. We find that leveraging local resources to create a supportive and adaptable environment is essential for the communities' sustainability and expansion. Importantly, our research draws a direct connection between the vitality of local community networks and the broader process of regional revitalization. We argue that energizing local communities is an effective way to address the risk of regional decline. By integrating quantitative analysis with qualitative feedback, this study contributes to the understanding of local market-based communities as key drivers of regional development. It emphasizes the importance of building vibrant, resourceful community networks to revitalize areas experiencing socio-economic challenges.
Globalization and knowledge-based economy have increased the importance of local areas as the units of global competition. Therefore, the meaning of localities has been emphasized as the core value of economic activities. In this context, innovation cluster has been recognised and emphasized as effective policy measure for innovation. Therefore, most countries have been trying to develop innovation clusters with their expectation for a rapid growth of economy. Nevertheless, there have been minimal empirical researches on innovation cluster. Therefore, for suggesting implications that activation factors of innovation cluster are to have an effect on tenant's business activities, this study conducted a literature review for the theories of regional innovation system(RIS) and innovation cluster. As a result, the activation factors of innovation cluster were classified into institutional, physicals, and social factor. The case of Gyeonggi province's innovation cluster policy was examined for an empirical analysis. Data were analyzed using ordered logistic regression. The results were as follows:First, Institutional and Infra factors had a positive influence on firms' business activities in every empirical test, so they were the most important activation factors of innovation cluster. Second, regarding the interactive effects of financial support, the interactive effects between financial support and Infra factor had a positive influence on the firms' business activities, according to the result of the empirical test.

While the life in the fishing villages in old days was characterized by accepting the sea as destiny by birth, it became an industrial one nowadays with industry - scale fisheries as the mainstream. It is expected, however, that nature - friendly life will be prevailing in the fishing villages in the future In these days, the status of fishing village is on a very terrible situation due to the decrease in population, low income, environment destruction, and so on. However, the fishing village should be revitalized because of its public benefits at least. Recently, a kind of affirmative appearance in fishing village is that people who are willing to visit fishing village are increasing. The fishermen are supposed to use this opportunity for its economic and social interests. This paper suggests a kind of way, enjoyable fishery after catching and farming fishery, to use it. Enjoyable fishery consists of watching (learning by observation) fishery and doing (experience) fishery. The example of watching fishery is inspecting the fixed net fishery, doing fishery is experience of small dragnet fishery. The activation devices of the enjoyable fishery are suggested as follows; 1) fixing the identification of regional tourism 2) the development of regional enjoyable 3) opening of one day's fisherman school. 4) networking with fishing village amenity improvement 5) driving sisterhood system with urban area.

From the 1950s, the science parks were begun the composition as a way for innovation and commercialization in the world around developed countries. Since the 1980s, Korea also starting with quantitative investment in R & D for technology innovation, so far has been a continuous effort. Korea's patent creation level according to these R & D investment is already within the world's top 10, but the fact that the domestic technology trade balance appearing current competitive level compared to the developed technology is very insufficient. This means that the creation of economic value is low as compared with financial commitment. Therefore the plans to ensure the economic value through technology are required. As one of plans to do this for local economy activation through technical advances, constructing regional innovation systems and making science parks have been made. These science parks are required to develop the basic original technology in order to secure new growth engines, but the science parks in Korea are facing difficulties of performing research and development for regional industry advancement and local economy activation. Accordingly, this study attempts to organize the concept of 'science park' is similar but there is difference, and to compare institutions with similar functions based on regional innovation systems theory. COVID-19 has had a detrimental effect on urban vibrancy, particularly in urban commercial districts. Against this backdrop, the goal of this study is to examine the changes in social and economic vitality in Seoul's commercial area before and after the COVID-19 outbreak, and to identify influential factors for the changes in vitality using multinomial logistic analysis. The following are the key findings derived from the study. First, an examination of the changes in the vitality of commercial districts by type revealed that the decline in economic vitality was greater than the decline in social vitality. Second, the greater the residential ratio, the less harmful the impact of COVID-19 on urban vibrancy. Third, unlike other types of commercial districts, traditional markets had a minor increase in credit card sales even though the floating population fell during the COVID-19 pandemic. Fourth, the accessibility of the subway did not play a positive role in reversing the decline in social and economic vitality caused by the pandemic in the commercial district of Seoul; rather, the accessibility of private automobiles contributed to the increase in social and economic vitality. These results imply that the development and activation of commercial areas accessible by non-motorized modes in the residential neighborhood are becoming crucial in the post pandemic era.

The commerce and industry of Busan was developed because of good geographical conditions with harbor. After passing its settling-down and diffusing time, Busan has grown in the trade city. Busan has lost the competitive power of the port city since 2000, because of the weakness of its economic power which is caused by the secession of manufacturing industry and the decrease of resident population and foreign tourist. In order to overcome these weaknesses, it is necessary for Busan to take the innovative strategy for the activation of marine tourism. This goal can be achieved by the strong quality of the port city, the coastal terrain, the traditional industry and the international traffic. The aim of this paper is to explore the Innovative Strategy for the activation of marine tourism in Busan and to suggest the following proposal. First, the government must decide the base of marine tourism under the geography viewpoint of the coast and sea, and develope tourism resources after analyzing the identity of marine tourism base. Second, the core part along the selected bases of marine tourism must be constructed the tourism terminal as the landmark of Busan in order to concentrate foreign tourist. Third, after each base of marine tourism must become the resort for tourists, they are able to experience the activity of marine tourism in this resort. Therefore, each base must be specialized. Fourth, each base must be connected with the route of marine tourism Fifth, in order to overcome the off-season of marine tourism, winter tourism goods such as skates, skis, artificial sea-bathing pool, artificial swimming beach, artificial sled, artificial rock wall of coast, hot spring resort of salt water are required to be developed in the center of marine tourism base.
