  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the effects of schema activation on reading comprehension. The subject of a sample survey was a 36 student experimental group and a 32 student control group, total 68 students at third grade class of C Middle School in Gwangju. Students ability to read English in the two groups were almost the same through, which was shown by pre-test administered before the beginning of the experiment. As a pre-reading activity, the experimental group was showed the pictures and vocabularies related to the text before reading. The other control group did Grammar Translation Method about text. The data needed for this study was obtained by the questionnaires with 25 questions about the English reading. The data analyzing method was t-test through the statistics program SPSS 12.0. The result of this study is as follows : First, the experimental group got a more meaningful score than the control group at the test. Second, pre-reading activities for providing prior knowledge of the text were affected by the student's English proficiency, peculiarly more effective on low level student than advanced level. Studying English reading through schema activation led the students to be present in classes with interests, so the experimental group showed more academic accomplishments than the control group.

  • TL dating using pre-dose effect is concerned with the sensitivity increase of $110^{\circ}C$ TL peak in quartz following the pre-exposure of irradiation (pre-dose) in antiquity and heating to thermal activation temperature. Using the multiple activation (MA) method for determining an equivalent dose, the activation temperature was selected to $500^{\circ}C$ and the region of interest was selected from $85^{\circ}C$ to $105^{\circ}C$ on quartz sample from archaeological remains, roof-tile kiln. which was excavated at Chudong-Ri cultural site. It was concluded that the resultant date was determined to the age of $1725{\pm}25years$ AD (l ${\sigma}$ SD), which had more improved precision considering with e radiocarbon dates and was in good agreement with the age derived by archaeological assessment. Also it was concluded that the pre-dose dating should contribute significantly to future archaeological dating work in the range of the last 2000 years.

  • The purpose of this study is to elaborate the factors and strategies to revitalize the policies of elderly-friendly care industry. The analysis was carried out using the method called DEMATEL. The analytical method is based on the DEMATEL technique. The purpose of this study is to clarify the complexity and unclear relationship between activation factors and factors that constitute the elderly friendly-care industry through the prioritization of policy strengthening. As the result of analysis, it was analyzed that the most intensive activation intensity was the highest total strength of meal service(22.095). Followed by health promotion facilities(19.97) and health care(17.726). The lowest factor is sport(15.896). Therefore, in order to improve and promote these factors, continuous policy measures should be sought that are closely related to facility care services, home care services, and preventive support services.

  • The protease-activated receptor (PAR)-2 is highly expressed in endothelial cells and vascular smooth muscle cells. It plays a crucial role in regulating blood pressure via the modulation of peripheral vascular tone. Although several mechanisms have been suggested to explain PAR-2-induced hypotension, the precise mechanism remains to be elucidated. To investigate this possibility, we investigated the effects of PAR-2 activation on N-type $Ca^{2+}$ currents ($I_{Ca-N}$) in isolated neurons of the celiac ganglion (CG), which is involved in the sympathetic regulation of mesenteric artery vascular tone. PAR-2 agonists irreversibly diminished voltage-gated $Ca^{2+}$ currents ($I_{Ca}$), measured using the patch-clamp method, in rat CG neurons, whereas thrombin had little effect on $I_{Ca}$. This PAR-2-induced inhibition was almost completely prevented by ${\omega}$-CgTx, a potent N-type $Ca^{2+}$ channel blocker, suggesting the involvement of N-type $Ca^{2+}$ channels in PAR-2-induced inhibition. In addition, PAR-2 agonists inhibited $I_{Ca-N}$ in a voltage-independent manner in rat CG neurons. Moreover, PAR-2 agonists reduced action potential (AP) firing frequency as measured using the current-clamp method in rat CG neurons. This inhibition of AP firing induced by PAR-2 agonists was almost completely prevented by ${\omega}$-CgTx, indicating that PAR-2 activation may regulate the membrane excitability of peripheral sympathetic neurons through modulation of N-type $Ca^{2+}$ channels. In conclusion, the present findings demonstrate that the activation of PAR-2 suppresses peripheral sympathetic outflow by modulating N-type $Ca^{2+}$ channel activity, which appears to be involved in PAR-2-induced hypotension, in peripheral sympathetic nerve terminals.

  • This study was conducted to develop the fermentation kinetic model for the prediction of acidity and pH changes in Kimchi as a function of fermentation temperatures. The fitness of the model was evaluated using traditional two-step method and an alternative non-linear regression method. The changes in acidity and pH during fermentation followed the pattern of the first order reaction of a two-step method. As the fermentation temperature increased from 4$^{\circ}C$ to 28, the reaction rates of acidity and pH were increased 8.4 and 7.6 times, respectively. The activation energies of acidity and pH were 16.125 and 16.003kcal/mole. The average activation energies of acidity and pH using a non-linear method were 16.006 by the first order and 15.813 kcal/mole by the zero order, respectively. The non-linear procedure had better fitting 개 experimental data of the acidity and pH than two-step method. The shelf-lives based on the time to reach the 1.0% of acidity were 33.1day at 4$^{\circ}C$ and 2.8 day 28$^{\circ}C$.

  • To purpose of this study is to understand the present situation of the present situation of the fashion careers in apparel industry and to present a activation information for development of a specialty de-partment. This study has been proceeded with the library survey method, and 20 apparel enterprises have been researched with the questionaire and inter-view method. These were large and medium sized enterprises. The results were as follows: 1. Subdivision of fashion careers have been found insufficient on apparel enterprises in Korea. 2. Textile specialists have been needed on apparel enterprises in Korea. 3. Domestic enterprises have dropt out man-agement 4. These enterprises are negative for the consumer research and fashion information col-lection. 5. Fashion sepecialists have been found insuf-ficient on retail division, The propositions for activation of fashion careers are as follows: 1. Fashion careers should subdivide and specialize. 2. The apparel enterprises should employ textile designer. 3. The apparel enterprises should activate practical department. 4. The apparel enterprises should research consumer and collect fashion information. 5. The apparel enterprises should develop fashion specialists on retail division.

  • Creep behavior of Ti had been studied in a stress from 9.8 to 29.4 MPa and temperature rang from 873K to 973K with a special reference to tertiary creep. It was found that stress exponent of Ti was larger than that of the general pure metal and the compound metal. The relationship between true strain and strain rate in tertiary creep was appeared as the equation, $ln{\dot{e}}$ = $ln{\dot{e}}_{0}$ + ${\Omega}$ e Also, Apparent activation energy of was appeared as 274.92kJ/mol by using the equation ${\dot{\varepsilon}}_{0}$ = A ${\sigma }_{0}^{\ast_0}$ exp$(-Q_{0}/RT)$

  • A Fe-Si-B-Ni amorphous alloy manufactured by one roll melt-spinning method showed the crystallization temperature difference of a maximum $10^{\circ}C$ according to each lot. This temperature difference had a considerable influence on the annealing process to be conducted for obtaining the proper inductance of the alloy. The proper annealing temperature of the alloy was $480^{\circ}C$ and the annealing time increased as the crystallization temperature increased. The activation energy measured by Kissinger method increased as the crystallization temperature increased. Therefore, the annealing process must be adjusted by the crystallization temperature difference of the amorphous alloy.
