Stanislavsky's acting system is based on the sensory memory of an incident that an actor has actually experienced, but Michael Chekhov insisted that in relation to the acting technique of actors, they should find the virtual and unreal external stimuli caused by emotion and imagination irrespective of their personal experience. As such, Stanislavsky's acting system and Michael Chekhov's acting technique are very different in terms of the acting method used. In actual acting, however, the acting system and the acting technique should have a close relationship. Any acting performed by an actor cannot be totally psychological or physical because the body and the mind cannot be separated. It is for this reason that all kinds of training should be both psychological and physical training and should not be conducted only mechanically. Acting is the ability of actors to imagine the virtual or fictitious reality and to express their indignation ability onstage. As actors stimulate and train their own fantasy and imagination, they can greatly improve their ability to embody or express the inner world of the characters they are portraying in a play.

Park Jung-hoon started his acting career in movie since undergraduate year at Chungang University, Drama and Cinema school, and till now he is a very active and nationally beloved actor in Korea. However, to this day there isn't any study about him, so this study might be the right time to take a look at his acting style again. This report will find and review his distinctive patterns in acting, and roughly assess the character expression from character, Dong-chul, in the movie, My Dear Desperado; which has been evaluated as the best movie to show the inner side of character. His acting pattern is segmented by 3 parts; Park Jung-hoon style comical acting, expression of macho side of masculinity, and subtle inner emotion expression acting. Then his acting technique is analyzed from character Dong-chul in the movie, My Dear Desperado, which he acted out change in character from low-class nonsense gangster to a good-hearted man flawlessly. In addition this report will try to find his acting technique that made impossible distance between the characters possible. This study hopes to start and continue other studies that discuss many movie actors' and actresses' different character expression method and their training technique, also wish many actors and actresses could find helpful in their acting training.

This article analyzes Sergei Eisenstein's acting theory, which is famous for his Russian montage. According to the existing discussions, he avoids the psychological realism through the concept of cut acting. It is a method like montage from the viewpoint that the practice of the cut action is segmented into shots. While Vsevolod Pudovkin, who asserts a connection montage, is looking for performance to portray a gradual change of emotion adopted by Konstantin Stanislavsky's psychological realism, Eisenstein prefers the acting of Vsevolod Meyerhold's masks in the same manner as the collision montage. This article traces the viewpoints on acting and actor that Eisenstein posed throughout his montage theory. It focuses on Film Sense(1942) and Film Form(1949), which are a collection of articles written by Eisenstein. As a result of examining the domestic and foreign literatures centering on Korean and English, it is hard to find the discussions on the analysis of Eisenstein's acting theory. Almost all of them are concentrated in his montage, among which the mention of acting is extremely limited. The cut acting, the typage, the inner techniques and processes of actor that express and induce the living emotions, and the acting of the integrating into diversity as one of the inner language are useful concepts in the creation and case analysis of contemporary films. Especially, his acting theory can be applied in the creation process of cartoons, webtoons, and animations which can meet the most decisive and impressive montage technique of Eisenstein. It is also possible to find many related cases for the analysis. This is why I look back on Eisenstein's film acting theory, and the results of the discussion will be a sufficient foundation for the derivation of related research.

The stresses acting on shotcrete lining of tunnel have been measured virtually by monitoring instruments installed during construction. However, the malfunction of instrument and the lack of consistency of signal have always been controversial, but re-installation of instrument after construction of tunnel lining is practically impossible. Therefore, authors have carried out the study to develop a new technique for estimating the stress acting on shotcrete lining during and after construction. In the technique, stresses of shotcrete lining can be estimate by the measurement of deformation of free face. Therefore, the relationships between the stresses of shotcrete lining and deformation of free surface are indispensable factor. In this paper, the parametric study using 2D FEM analysis was carried out to estimate the relationships between the stress level acting on the tunnel shotcrete lining and the deformation near the free face (e.g. artificial crack in this study). The distribution of stresses of shotcrete lining is also investigated in this study as the preliminary investigation for the large-scale tunnel lining test and detailed 3D FEM analysis.

Konstantin S. Stanislawski(1863-1938) is one of the great acting-teachers and directors. Especially his 'System' influences this day like his period so many actors and directors in the world. In Korea, Stanislawski was introduced at first in 1920's by Kim, Woojin, dramatist. After that time, his system was influenced fast everyone in the korean drama world. As a result, so many translations of his books and researches of his system are done until nowadays, but it is not perfect for the correct understanding of Stanislawski and his system. It seems to be several causes in this misunderstanding. And the purpose of this thesis is at first to observe historically the results of researches and translations on Stanislawski and his system in Korea and then to bring it in order according to characteristics. In this thesis are the process of reception observed dividing 4 periods. The first period is from the beginning to the liberation in 1945. The second is to 1980's and the next is to the year 2000. And the final period is from that time to the present time. As a result are several characteristics found as followings: 1) translations of Stanislawski's first book like other books, for example, Building a Character and Creating a Role, an Actor Prepares, are fast all secondhand translations, that means, man translated it not from russian direct but japanese or english. It caused man to misusing of terms and then misunderstanding on the system. 2) the researches on Stanislawski in are fast all concentrated on the book, an Actor Prepares, so this leads man to regard it as his whole acting system. On the other hand, thesisses which deal with his last and final acting technique, "the Method of the physical Action" are relatively not so much. As though man knows the last, man used to think that the system is developed systematically from the psychological technique to the physical action or the method of the physical action is only the way to understand of stanislawski's acting method. The psychological method and the physical are not the divided, different acting technique, but pairs which are applied to different objects, that is, the actor himself and the role in texts. 3) the political aspects are not considered especially under the situation of Stalin's social realism. This lack of the political context having relation with the system acts as a obstacle upon understanding the correct, whole his system. But so many thesises on this theme in other countries are so vivacious. For example, man can find subjects like "Stanislawski and Meyerhold", "means of Stanislawski's method for theatres in the social context". There are also many interesting Questions related to the physical action. That is, is the physical action the final acting technique or the materialistic dialectical device to survive under the Stalin's rule? Is there some interrelations between stanislawski's physical action and Meyerhold's biomechanics? In conclusion, the researches on Stanislwski and his system are not enough to understand correctly and overcome the system. We have to start the research again at least from the direct translation his books written russian in order to apply it in a new times.

This paper develops and discusses a method by which it is possible to evaluate the Equivalent Static Force (ESF) of wind in the case of long-span bridges. Attention is focused on the alongwind direction. The study herein carried out deals with the classical problems of determining the maximum effects due to the alongwind action and the corresponding ESFs. The mean value of the maximum alongwind displacement of the deck is firstly obtained both by the spectral analysis and the Gust Response Factor (GRF) technique. Successively, in order to derive the other wind-induced effects acting on the deck, the Gust Effect Factor (GEF) technique is extended to long-span bridges. By adopting the GRF technique, it is possible to define the ESF that applied on the structure produces the maximum alongwind displacement. Nevertheless the application of the ESF so obtained does not furnish the correct maximum values of other wind-induced effects acting on the deck such as bending moments or shears. Based on this observation, a new technique is proposed which allows to define an ESF able to simultaneously reproduce the maximum alongwind effects of the bridge deck. The proposed technique is based on the GEF and the POD techniques and represents a valid instrument of research for the understanding of the wind excitation mechanism.

Tunneling in difficult geological conditions is often inevitable especially in urban areas. Ground improvement and reinforcement techniques are often required to guarantee safe tunnel excavations and/or to prevent damage to adjacent structures. The steel pipe-reinforced multi-step grouting method has been recently applied to tunnel sites in Korea as an auxiliary technique. In this study, the face stability with steel pipe-reinforced multi-step grouting was evaluated by simultaneously considering two factors: one is the effective stress acting on the tunnel face calculated by limit theorem and limit equilibrium method; the other is the seepage force obtained by means of numerical analysis. The study revealed that the influence of the steel pipe-reinforced multi-step grouting on the support pressure in dry condition is not significant while there is relatively a large amount of reduction in seepage forces by adopting the technique in saturated condition. The effect of the anisotropy of permeability on the seepage force acting on the tunnel face was also estimated by conducting the coupled analysis. It was found that a higher horizontal permeability compared with the vertical one causes reduction in the seepage force acting on the tunnel face.

This study started from the project that make the record of legendary actor's heritage in Korea. This research was focused on Sung Hee Beck's artistic footprint which was almost same steps as the Korean modern play of the centennial theater history by reviewing her; domestic royal actor; acting techniques which learn from real acting field by herself and her career. Her life shows constant resistance for the social negative reputation of the acting field, and her frantic effort to Korean play and actor's phase. Above all, this passionate actor's life contributes to society, and improve the Korean theater through 70 year's her experiences with countless roles in around 400 performances and her own valuable acting techniques. To look up legendary actress of our time, Sung Hee Beak's life gives us a chance to reflect art of acting which emphasizes its fundamental.

In this paper, a simple approach is presented for studying the dynamic response of multi-span steel bridges supported by pylons of different heights, subjected to earthquake motions acting along the axis of the bridge with spatial variations. The analysis is carried out using the modal analysis technique, while the solution of the integral-differential equations derived is obtained using the successive approximations technique. It was found that the height of piers and the quality of the foundation soil can affect significantly the dynamical behavior of the bridges studied. Illustrative examples are presented to highlight the points of concern and useful conclusions are gathered.

A boundary element method with a Lagrangian approach and B-spline technique is employed to investigate characteristics of solitary waves attacking on beach slopes. By comparing numerical solutions with available laboratory measurements, it is shown that the maximum run-up heights of the present model are more agreeable than those of the existing numerical model. Variations of run-up heights and velocity vectors for different slopes are also described. Characteristics of hydrodynamic pressure acting beach slopes are investigated in detail.
