  • This study examines the acoustic characteristics of Korean stops of two dialect, Seoul and Daegu, 20 speakers of these two dialects were asked to read 15 words containing the stops of different places of articulation and phonation types at initial. The stops in the two dialects show mainly two acoustic differences. Firstly, There was a difference in distinctive features for phonetic types in the two dialects. Secondly, lenis revel fortis`s characters in Daegu dialect.

  • The purposed of this paper is to realize two dimensional acoustic image using focusing method. In the experiment, it consists of phase delay part, 14 analog multiplexers, multi-amplifiers, A/D converter, DMA interfacing parts, two linear arrays(resonance frequency 25 KHz, radius 0.75 Cm diac type). Finally in this experimental result, both electrical deflection and dynamic focusing are realized and gets two dimensional acoustic image using focusing method.

  • We study a conceptual numerical model on shock-vortex interaction setting an impulsive shock in a compressible vertex. Navier-Stokes equations are solved for the investigation of interactive structure and acoustic wave propagation. The rotationally symmetric vortex enforces two compression-expansion pairs resultantly forming a quadrupolar shape. These compressive and expansive waves cylindrically propagate to the far field and turn to acoustic waves. Using a fine uniform Cartesian grid system and a TVD-high resolution method, the flow data irl: precisely obtained to extend our interest to the sound source.

  • In the most of acoustic system with low flow rate and low pressure level, one-dimensional, linear modeling techniques are used very well. At low frequency, the tube is modeled as inertia element and cavity as capacitance element, and to extend the range of frequency normal mode oscillators are represented. Bond graph modelling techniques are proposed to predict TL (Transmission Loss) and time response which is impossible by transfer matrix in muffler system. A simple acoustic filter which consists of several tubes and cawities is analyzed in both time and frequency domain.

  • Crack propagation and AE characteristics of CFRP plain woven laminate composites are examined with acoustic sensor by AEDSP 32/16 board in PC system. AE signals are measured during the fracture behavior tests. The purpose of study is the estimation of the crack extension behavior effected between three kinds of fiber orientation for plain woven CFRP laminate composite and the relationship between AE characteristics and load-displacement curves and crack extension length.

  • In this paper, we study exponential stabilization of the vibrations of the Kelvin-Voigt type wave equation with Balakrishnan-Taylor damping and acoustic boundary in a bounded domain in $R^n$. To stabilize the systems, we incorporate separately, the internal material damping in the model as like Kang [3]. Energy decay rate are obtained by the exponential stability of solutions by using multiplier technique.

  • Modal parameters determine the frequency response characteristics of vibration system or acoustic system. When the two systems are fully coupled, however, coupling changes the vibrational and acoustic model parameters into those of the coupled system. In this case, it is very difficult to obtain the modified model parameters and response characteristics. In this paper, coupling effect is analytically investigated on the natural frequency, mode and frequency response characteristics. The result can be applied to understand and to design the frequency response characteristics of the vehicle passenger compartment.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the characteristics and source of vibration and acoustic noise in SRM drives. The paper study the reduction technique of those by new SRM which has auxiliary field winding. The operating mechanism and vibration and acoustic noise characteristics is examined. This paper suggests the control strategies of auxiliary field winding in order to reduce vibration and acoustic noise.

  • Vibration and vibro-acoustic characteristics of body panels enclosing the vehicle interior cabin are tested and analyzed for effective application of sound proofing materials. A set of deadener and insulation packages are proposed based on the experimentally evaluated and categorized contributions of noise radiating panels. The suggested packages are applied to a prototype vehicle, and a refined acoustic quality is achieved. A systematic experimental procedure proposed in this study can be a good tool in tuning the acoustic quality of prototype vehicles within a limited development period.
