음향계의 해석을 위한 부분구조합성법의 적용 (Application of Substructure Synthesis Method for Analysis of Acoustic System)

  • The substructure synthesis method is used for making it easy to analyze vibration systems generally in vibration field. In the past, this method has been to be used mainly because of shortage of computer memory and CPU time. But recently this method is used for analyzing complex structure or identifying the characteristics of systems precisely. The purpose of this study is to develop acoustic substructure synthesis method that can be applied to acoustic modal analysis of complex acoustic systems. Acoustic modal analysis method to be introduced here is a method that analyze acoustic natural mode shape of the complex acoustic system by the principle of CMS(component mode synthesis method). This paper describes the acoustic modal analysis of the acoustic finite element model of simple expansion pipe by acoustic substructure synthesis method. The resutls of acoustic modal analysis analyzed by Acoustic substructure synthesis method and the results by FEM(finite element method) shows good agreement.

음향 가진을 이용한 매달려 있는 액적의 형상 진동 모드에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Shape Oscillation Mode of a Pendant Droplet by an Acoustic Wave)

  • One of the fascinating prospects is the possibility of new hydrodynamics technology on micro-scale system since oscillations of micro-droplets are of practical and scientific importance. It has been widely conceived that the lowest oscillation mode of a pendant droplet is the longitudinal vibration, i.e. periodic elongation and contraction along the longitudinal direction. Nonlinear and forced oscillations of supported viscous droplet were focused in the present study. The droplet has a free contact line with solid plate and inviscid fluid. Natural frequencies of a pendant droplet have been investigated experimentally by imposing the acoustic wave while the frequency is being increased at a fixed amplitude. It is found that a pendant droplet shows the resonant behaviors at each mode similar to the theoretical analysis. The rotation of the droplet about the longitudinal axis is the oscillation mode of the lowest resonance frequency. This rotational mode can be invoked by periodic acoustic forcing and is analogous to the pendulum rotation. It is also found that the natural frequency of a pendant droplet is independent of the drop density and surface tension but inversely proportional to the square root of the droplet size.

Image Noise Reduction Using Structural Mode Shaping for Scanning Electron Microscopy

  • In a scanning electron microscope (SEM), outside acoustic noise causes image noise that distorts observations of the specimen being examined. A SEM that is less sensitive to acoustic noise is highly desirable. This paper investigates the image noise problem by addressing the mode shapes of the base plate and the transmission path of the acoustic noise and vibration. By arranging the position of the rib, a new SEM base plate was developed that had twisting as the 1st and 2nd modes. In those two twisting modes, vibration nodes existed near the center of the base plate where the specimen chamber is placed. Less vibration was transmitted to the chamber and to the specimen by the twisting modes compared to bending ones, which are the 2nd and 3rd modes for a rectangular plain base plate. An SEM with the developed base plate installed exhibited a significant reduction of image noise when exposed to acoustic noises below 250 Hz.

음향모드를 고려한 공동주택 중량충격음 소음해석 (Numerical Analysis of Heavy-weight Impact Noise for Apartment Units Considering Acoustic Mode)

  • Numerical analysis was performed to investigate the heavy-weight impact noise of apartment houses. The FEM is practical method for prediction of low-frequency indoor noise. The results of numerical analysis, the shape of the acoustic modes in room-2 are similar to that of acoustic pressure field at the fundamental frequency of acoustic modes. And the acoustic pressure was amplified at the natural frequency of the acoustic modes and structural modes. The numerical analysis result of sound pressure level at 63 Hz and 125 Hz octave-band center frequency are similar to the test results, but at 250 Hz and 500 Hz have some errors. Considering most of bang-machine force spectrum exists below 100 Hz, the noise at 250 Hz and 500 Hz are not important for heavy-weight impact noise. Thus, the FEM numerical analysis method for heavy-weight impact noise can apply to estimate heavy-weight impact noise for various building systems.

  • Nonlinear and forced oscillations of supported viscous droplet were focused in the present study. The droplet has a free contact line with solid plate and inviscid fluid. Natural frequencies of a pendant droplet have been investigated experimentally by imposing the acoustic wave while the frequency is being increased at a fixed amplitude. The evaporation was observed at atmosphere pressure. The droplet was recorded throughout the entire evaporation process and transient variations of the volume was measured. The evaporation process of oscillating droplet with thermofoil has been also observed to investigate analyzing the resonance effect on the thermal characteristics of droplet. It is found that a pendant droplet shows the resonant behaviors at each mode similar to the theoretical analysis. During imposing the acoustic wave, the pendant droplet makes a rotating motion in its longitudinal axis which is a new shape oscillation mode. The evaporation rate of a pendant droplet at resonant frequency is significantly enhanced.

액체로켓에서 다단 접선 유입구를 갖는 스월인젝터의 음향학적 감쇠기능 (Effect of Swirl Injector with Multi-Stage Tangential Entry on Acoustic Damping in Liquid Rocket Engine)

  • 액체로켓엔진에서 고주파 연소불안정을 제어하기 위하여 다단 접선 유입구를 갖는 스월 인젝터를 분석하였다. 음향흡수자로서 인젝터의 효과를 분석하기위하여 인젝터는 1/4 파장 공명기로 해석하였고, 상온에서 감쇠 효과의 적합성을 검증하였다. 이러한 인젝터는 모델 챔버의 고유주파수에 동조시킬 수 있는 고유주파수를 갖게 된다. 다단의 접선 유입구를 갖는 인젝터가 단일 유입구를 갖는 인젝터 보다 인젝터 내부의 air core가 안정되었다. 또한, 다단 접선 유입구를 갖는 인젝터를 사용하였을 때 불안정 모드에 동조되는 인젝터 길이가 계산된 길이와 잘 일치하였다. 이러한 실험 결과로부터 인젝터 내부의 air core가 안정되게 유지된다면, 동조된 스월 인젝터는 모델 챔버의 불안정 모드를 효과적으로 감소시킬 수 있고, 감쇠율을 증가시킬 수 있음을 확인하였다.

진동 방사음을 이용한 터보차져 휠 동특성 시험에 대한 고찰 (Study on the Modal Test for a Turbocharger Wheel Using Vibro-acoustic Responses)

  • The modal characteristics of a compressor wheel of an automotive turbocharger have been investigated using an experimental method based on an acoustic frequency response function, p/f(${\omega}$), where p is sound pressure radiated from a structure, and f is impact force. First, a well-defined annular disc with narrow radial slots was examined to check whether the vibro-acoustic test could precisely determine natural quencies and vibration modes of structures showing that the vibro-acoustic test proposed in this paper was comparable to the conventional modal test with an accelerometer and the numerical analysis. The conventional method has been found to be inappropriate for compressor wheel because of additional mass due to the accelerometer and additional damping from the accelerometer cable alter the dynamic responses of the wheel blades. odal characteristics of the wheel have been defined using vibro-acoustic test and verified with the results from another conventional method using a laser vibrometer. Natural quencies and mode shapes of a turbocharger wheel, which can't be precisely obtained with onventional method, could be defined accurately without the additional effects from sensor and cable. Proposed method can be applied to small structures where conventional sensors and cables could generate troubles.

광섬유 음향 센서용 맨드릴 설계 및 특성 연구 (Characteristics Investigation and Design of the Mandrel for Fiber Optic Acoustic Sensor)

  • 본 연구에서는 변압기 열화 진단에 사용되는 Sagnac형 간섭계의 핵심 기술인 광섬유 음향 센서의 설계를 위하여 세 가지 서로 다른 형태의 맨드릴형을 제안하였고 이의 진동 특성을 살펴봄으로서 보다 뛰어난 감도를 가진 센서를 구현하고자 하였다. 광섬유 음향 센서용 맨드릴을 외경 요철형, 중공 원통형, 내경 요철형등의 세 가지로 분류하고 이의 고유진동수와 고유 모드를 해석하였다. 2kHz 미만의 고유진동수는 제외하고 주로 2~20kHz 범위 내에 속한 고유진동수를 검출하여 고유모드를 나타내었다. 설계된 맨드릴의 기본 형상 치수는 외경 30 mm, 길이 50mm이다. 원통의 두께는 1 mm이며 요철의 크기는 $2mm{\times}2mm$이다. 유한요소해석 결과 외부 음압 주파수가 2~20 kHz 범위에서 11 kHz 인근의 주파수인 경우 외경 요철형과 중공 원통형의 맨드릴을 선택하면 높은 감도를 얻을 수 있다. 17 kHz 인근 주파수에서는 외경 요철형과 내경 요철형이 유리하며 20 kHz인근에서는 중공 원통형과 내경 요철형이 높은 감도를 얻을 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 변압기 내에 삽입되어 각종 열화 진단용 모니터링 센서로 활용되는 광섬유 음향 센서의 맨드릴 설계에 매우 효과적으로 이용할 수 있으며 본 연구에서 제시한 기법을 이용하여 MHz 단위의 초음파 감지에도 충분히 활용될 수 있으리라 기대된다.

모형 덤프 연소기에서 혼합기 유입구 길이 변화에 따른 연소불안정 특성에 대한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Combustion Instability Characteristics of Various Fuel-Air Mixing Section Geometry in a Model Dump Shape Combustor)

  • 본 연구는 희박 예혼합 연소기에서 연소실과 연료-공기 혼합부의 공진모드의 관계가 연소불안정에 어떤 영향을 미치고 있는지에 대하여 실험적으로 확인한 연구이다. 다체널 동압측정을 통하여 각각 위치에서 동압의 모드와 각 센서들간의 phase를 분석하여 연소불안정의 원인을 규명할 수 있었다. 연소실의 길이와 혼합부의 길이를 음향학적 경계로 일치시켜 연소불안정 특성을 확인해 보았을 때 두가지 서로 다른 연소불안정 모드를 확인할 수 있었는데 저주파 연소불안정 특성은 화염의 열방출 섭동과 연소실의 공진모드에 기인하며, 고주파 영역대의 연소불안정 현상은 혼합부의 길이를 변경하였을 때 발생하는 또 다른 불안정 현상임을 실험적으로 확인할 수 있었다.
