금속-압전세라믹스로 구성된 음향소자의 설계 및 음향특성 (Design and Acoustic Properties of Acoustic Device with Metal-Piezoceramic Circular Plate)

  • In this study, the acoustic transducer of a thin circular disc-type with PZT/Metal was designed. The dielectric and piezoelectric properties of $0.5wt\%$ $MnO_2$ and NiO doped 0.1Pb($Mg_{1/3}$$Nb_{2/3}$)$O_3$-$0.45PbTiO_3$-$0.45PbZrO_3$ ceramics were investigated aiming at acoustic transducer applications. The vibration characteristics for the laminated circular plate was analyzed for the various thickness and diameter of the piezoceramic layer and metal layer. The acoustic characteristics which is radiated from the acoustic transducer within the finite space was simulated using the finite element method. It has been observed that the characteristics of the sound pressure ard impedance response calculated for the various models of the size and geometry of acoustic transducer.

레일표면 측정장치의 설계변수가 음향조도 스펙트럼 분석에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Design variables of Rail Surface Measuring Device on Acoustic Roughness and Spectral Analysis)

  • 철도차량의 전동소음(Rolling noise)을 줄이기 위해서는 차륜과 레일의 음향조도(Acoustic roughness)가 국제규격에서 규정하는 일정값 이하로 관리되어야 한다. 이러한 음향조도의 관리를 위해서 사용되는 측정장치는 접촉식 변위센서를 주로 사용하게 되는데, 주행 중인 장치에서는 센서가 고정된 플랫폼의 위치가 가변적이고 레일면과 구동륜의 접촉시에 프레임의 피칭(Pitching)운동에 의해서 측정값의 오차가 발생하는 단점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 접촉식 변위센서를 통해 측정된 데이터의 정확도를 높이기 위해서, 플랫폼의 휠베이스, 바퀴의 개수 및 바퀴의 탄성접촉 등에 의한 레일표면 측정값의 변화와 스펙트럼 변화를 해석하였으며, 각 설계변수가 음향 스펙트럼에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다.

초음파 진동을 이용한 마찰 및 음향부상에 의한 물체의 수송 (Friction-Based and Acoustically-Levitated Object Transport Using Ultrasonic Vibration)

  • In this study. object transport method based on ultrasonic flexural vibration is presented. Ultrasonic vibration generates ultrasonic traveling waves on the surface of elastic medium. Objects are transported through the interaction with traveling waves propagating in medium. Two types of transport methods are studied: frictional drive and acoustic levitation. With frictional drive, objects are transported in contact with the beam in the opposite direction of wave propagation whereas with acoustic levitation, objects are acoustically levitated above the beam surface and transported in the wave propagation direction. Transport characteristics are experimentally investigated using objects of different shapes and sizes. The transition from acoustic levitation mode to frictional drive mode is also examined. and it is found to occur when the ratio of mass to area of an object exceeds the threshold ratio of mass to area. It is envisaged that this feasibility study will serve as a stepping-stone for ultrasonic vibration to become an effective industrial material handling device in the future.

Angular Dispersion-type Nonscanning Fabry-Perot Interferometer Applied to Ethanol-water Mixture

  • The angular dispersion-type non-scanning Fabry-Perot was applied to an ethanol-water mixture in order to investigate its acoustic properties such as the sound velocity and the absorption coefficient. The scattered light from the mixture was analyzed by using the charge-coupled-device area detector, which made the measurement time much shorter than that obtained by using the conventional scanning tandem multi-pass Fabry-Perot interferometer. The sound velocity showed a deviation from ultrasonic sound velocities at low temperatures accompanied by the increase in the absorption coefficient, indicating acoustic dispersion due to the coupling between the acoustic waves and some relaxation process. Based on a simplified viscoelastic theory, the temperature dependence of the relaxation time was obtained. The addition of water molecules to ethanol reduced the relaxation time, consistent with dielectric measurements. The present study showed that the angular dispersion-type Fabry-Perot interferometer combined with an area detector could be a very powerful tool in the real-time monitoring of the acoustic properties of condensed matter.

DLP 프로젝터의 소음 저감 연구 (Study on Noise Reduction of DLP Projector)

  • For the evaluation of acoustic noise of a DLP projector, vibration and sound characteristics of a DLP projector were studied. The acoustic noise of DLP projector could be classified into three categories, that is, the direct noise from a body of rotation, the air-bone noise generated from turbulence or vortex occurred during cooling process and the structural born noise produced by vibrating elements. Cooling fans and color filter wheel which rotates at 9000 rpm are main causes of acoustic noise induced in DLP projector. Since the structure of an optical module in a DLP projector can be excited by the excessive vibration of a color filter wheel, the structural design for anti-vibration should be considered. To make a reduction of overall acoustic noise, the anti-vibration design and the enclosing structure have been studied and applied to a color filter wheel.

압전 액츄에이터를 이용한 열전냉각 시스템 성능 향상에 관한 연구 (A Study on Enhancement of Thermoelectric Cooling System Performance by Piezoelectric Actuator)

  • The thermoelectric cooling system consisted of the thermoelectric module, a heat sink and a cooling fan, respectively. Also, the piezoelectric actuator was applied to improve the performance of thermoelectric cooling system and investigate the heat transfer phenomenon. The temperature distribution of test section was measured to investigate cooling characteristics of thermoelectric cooling system. The flow phenomenon of test section was visualized using visualization device. When the piezoelectric actuator was applied to the heat transfer process of thermoelectric cooling system, acoustic streaming was occurred in test section. The acoustic streaming was occurred forced convection flow, and was regularly formed the temperature distribution in test section. The results clearly show that the acoustic streaming is one of the prime effects to enhance the convection heat transfer and can enhance the performance of thermoelectric cooling system.

A Study on the Design of Integrated Speech Enhancement System for Hands-Free Mobile Radiotelephony in a Car

  • This paper presents the integrated speech enhancement system for hands-free mobile communication. The proposed integrated system incorporates both acoustic echo cancellation and engine noise reduction device to provide signal enhancement of desired speech signal from the echoed plus noisy environments. To implement the system, a delayless subband adaptive structure is used for acoustic echo cancellation operation. The NLMS based adaptive noise canceller then applied to the residual echo removed noisy signal to achieve the selective engine noise attenuation in dominant frequency component. Two sets of computer simulations are conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the system; one for the fixed acoustical environment condition, the other for the robustness of the system in which, more realistic situation, the acoustic transmission environment change. Simulation results confirm the system performance of 20-25dB ERLE in acoustic echo cancellation and 9-19 dB engine noise attenuation in dominant frequency component for both cases.

광대역 표면탄성파 구현을 위한 slanted 및 chirp IDT의 최적화 (Optimization of Slanted and Chirp IDT Configurations for Realizing and Propagating Surface Acoustic Wave with Wide Bandwidth)

  • Slanted and chirp interdigital transducer(IDT) configurations were studied for generating the surface acoustic wave(SAW) with wide bandwidths on a piezoelectric substrate. These devices can be applied to manipulate optical path of light along the waveguide, ultimately used for optical switches and holographic image implementation. Prior to fabrication, the coupling of modes(COM) modeling and simulation were performed to extract optimal design parameters. The optimally designed wideband device showed wide bandwidth of 30MHz, low insertion loss of -25dB, and abrupt side suppression ratio (SSR). Several design conditions were determined during device implementation, such as slanted angle, aperture length, number of fingers, and central frequencies of IDTs. These factors were experimentally analyzed and described in details in this paper.

  • 본 연구에서는 국내 기술로 개수로 흐름 측정에 활용할 수 있는 초음파 유속 프로파일러를 개발하였다. 이 유속 프로파일러는 초음파의 도플러 효과로 유속을 측정하는 원리에 기반을 두고 있으며, 도플러 주파수는 펄스반복주파수(Pulse Repetition Frequency) 기법에 의해 산정된다. 개발된 유속 프로파일러의 성능을 검증하기 위해 실내 실험 및 현장 테스트를 수행하였다. 실험 결과 개발된 유속 프로파일러는 바닥에서부터 약 0.1 cm 이상의 수심에서는 정상적인 유속 분포를 측정하며, 상용 유속센서 등과 비교하여 유사한 측정 성능을 가진 것으로 확인되었다.
