In this investigation we tried to investigate the effect of oxalic acid on the fate of native sulfate in Bt soil that contained a high kaolinitic clay by observing the distribution of two anions using soil column under the given competitive adsorption between displaced and displacing anions. To do this, the soil columns uniformly packed to a bulk density of 1.25 $g/cm^3$ with Cecil Bt soil were disected and analyzed the amounts of sulfate and oxalic acid both in solution and solid phases after flowing the designated pore volumes of oxalic acid The results showed that two sets of curves-nonlinear (> $10^3M$) and linear (> $10^3M$) curves where the solution of oxalic acid was not adiustet while the approaches to the plateau were slow when pH of oxalic acid was adjusted to 5. The cumulative amount of sulfate desorbed by successive addition of oxalic acid was nonlinearly approached to the plateau at the concentration of $10^3M$ or greater, indicating that the number of addition of oxalic acid increased with decreasing order of oxalic acid. However, the plateau did not obtain where the concentration of oxalic acid were less than $10^4M$, showing a linear increase. Therefore, we may conclude that the rate-limited desorption was involved as the concentration of oxalic acid decreased.

Possible application of hurdle technology extention of shelf-life of fresh-cut apples was investigated by evaluating various hurdle factors known to be effective microbial growth inhibitors and their synergistic effects. Fresh-cut apples treated with chitooligosaccharide or grapefruit seed extract (GSE) showed higher microbial counts than those treated with distilled water during latter half of storage period, and at high concentrations. Citric and malic acids showed similar results, although microbial counts of fresh-cut apples treated with 0.75% or higher concentration of citric acid increased at 4 days of storage at $18^{\circ}C$, indicating malic acid is more effective than all hurdles tested for controlling microbial growth. Using ascorbic acid and calcium chloride as additional hurdles to control browning and softening, minimum and maximum compositions of dipping solution were: 0.25 : 0.5 : 0.25% and 0.75 : 1.0 : 0.75% malic acid: ascorbic acid: calcium chloride, respectively.

This experiment was carried out to obtain the basic data for removal the astringency and off-flavor in soybean milk, by means of soaking of soybean in NaOH and $NaHCO_3$ solutions. The changes of phenolic compounds in soybean during soaking were investigated with HPLC and also the changes of flavor and sensority of soybean milk, prepared from soaked soybean were studied. Phenolic compounds of soybean were identified as chlorogenic, p-hydroxybenzoic, p-coumaric, ferulic and gentisic acid and, chlorogenic acid content was greater than the others. The chlorogenic acid of soybean was mainly neutral type and the other compounds were almost acidic type. Up to 85% of the chlorogenic acid was removed by soaking of soybean in 0.1% of NaOH solution for 8 hrs. Phenolic compounds of soybean was almost removed by soaking in 0.1% of NaOH solution at $90^{\circ}C$ for 1 hr. Chemical composition of soybean milks prepared from soaking of soybean in water, 0.1% NaOH and 0.5% $NaHCO_3$ solution were similar. Hexanol content of beany flavor in soybean milk was increased by soaking of soybean in NaOH solution, where as hexanal, propanal, pentanal contents were removed up to 60%. Color of soybean prepared from soaking of soybean in NaOH solution at high temperature were deep yellow but were high whiteness in soybean milk prepared from soaking of soybean in water at low temperature. Sensority of soybean milk prepared from soaking of soybean in 0.1% of NaOH solution at $90^{\circ}C$ for 1 hr was more favorable than the others.
When waterlogged wood dries up, it shrinks largely. And it is hard to recover original shape. Therefore it happens to lose the value of wood remains frequently. This paper studied how far dried waterlogged wood can recover original shape. Shape recovering course and extent are thoroughly investigated after waterlogged wood of Pinus densiflora, Quercus serrata and Styrax japonica oven-dries and instills varieties of test solution. At 1- step, oven-dried samples infiltrated by chlorous acid sodium or sodium hydroxide solution. At 2- step, wood tissues of samples were swelled by the fast decompression after infiltrating $CO_2-supercritical$ fluid at high pressure. The study investigated the possibility of shape recovering in waterlogged wood. Shape recovering rate is different with solution and wood species. Sample of sodium hydroxide solution doesn't swell anymore when using $CO_2-supercritical$ fluid. In general, the sample of sodium hydroxide solution has higher Shape recovering rate than $CO_2-supercritical$ fluid solution treated by chlorous acid sodium.

The effect of electrolyte on the extraction replicas of the precipiates in 3% Si steel was investigated. Three Kinds of electrolyte, 2% Nital solution (2% nitric acid+methanol; acid solution),, Sodium Citrate solution (5% sodiumcitrate+1% KBr+0.5KI+$H_{2}O$; aqueous neutral solution) and 10% AA solution (10% acetylacetone+ 1% tetramethylammoniumchloride+methanol; non-aqueous neutral solution), were compared. The preciptiates in 3% Si steel were dissolved in 2% Nital, but they were not dissolved in the Sodium Citrate and 10% AA solution. In Sodium Citrate solution, however, large second artifacts were introduced during sample preparation. Therefore 10% AA solution was found to be most useful for the preparation of extraction replica. The electrolysis condition of a matrix and precipitates were also checked by the measurement of potential-current curve in 10% AA solution. The matrix was electrolyzed at -400mV with respect to SCE(Saturated Calomel Electrode). In contrats precipitates were electrolyzed above 300mV. Precipitates were respected to be stable in 10% AA solution in the range of $-380mV{\sim}-300mV$ usually used to prepare extraction replicas.

For the separation and purification of aluminium chloride hexahydrate crystals from kaolin leaching solution the effects of crystallization conditions, such as crystallization temperature, concentration of aluminium chloride concentration in the leaching solutin and gas flow rate of HCl into the leaching solution, on purity of the aluminium chloride hexahydrate crystals were investigated. The supersaturation level of aluminium chloride in the leaching solution gave great influence on the purity of the crystals. When supersaturated concentration of the aluminium chloride in the leaching solution was generated in low level, the aluminium chloride hexahydrate crystals were produced with high purity ; that is, the crystals hving a low Fe-ion concentration. The supersaturation level of aluminium chloride in the leaching solution was mainly determined by crystallization temperature, concentrations of aluminium chloride and hydrochloric acid in the solution. However, in spite of changes of the above crystallization coditions, a needle shape morphology of aluminium chloride hexahydrate crystals did not modified. To measure hydrochloric acid concentration in the kaolin leaching solution, we applied the oxalate titration method, which was suggested by shank [9] and it was prove that this method could titrate hydrochloroic acid concentration in multi-component ionic solution such as kaolin leaching solution.
The interaction between probencid and nalidixic acid was studied pharmacokinetically in rabbits infused with or without acidic soiution (5% $NH_4Cl$). The results were as fellows. The blood level and the area under the blood concentration curve of nalidixic acid administered intravenously was elevated by coadministration of probenecid and more elevated in rabbits infused with acidic solution. Probenecid inhibited the urinary excretion of nalidixic acid in rabbits infused with adidic solution. Therefore, biolgcal half-life of nalidixic acid was prolonged by coadministration of probencid.
This study is undertaken to investigate proper condition and dissolution method of silk fibroin to use it functional material as powder or membrane. Silk fibroin was dissolved with calcium chloride ethanol aqueous solution and hydrochloric acid. When silk fibron was dissolved with calcium chloride ehanol aqueous solution, main chain of silk fibroin was degradaded and molecular conformation was changed. Silk fibroin powder was made from silk fibroin solution. It showed lower thermal decomposition temperature and crystallinity than those of native silk fibroin. And Its molecular conformation was random coil structure. By acid gydrolysis, main chain of silk fibroin was attacked randomly. Silk fibroin powder from hydrolysate showed high crystallinity and thermal decomposition temprature. $\beta$-form molecular conformation was found by IR and X-ray diffraction. Silk fibroin powder form dissolved part with hydrochloric acid showed low thormal decomposition temperature but high crystallinity. During acid hydrolysis, transition of molecular structure of silk fibroin occurred, and it changed to $\alpha$-helix. Silk fibroin film was achieved by casting silk fibroin solution by ehanol solution or saturated vapor treatment, and its molecular conformation changed to $\beta$structure.
For the separation of neodymium from NdFeB permanent magnet scrap, the scrap was roasted for oxidizing, and leached with acetic acid followed by fractional crystallization for selective separation. From the analysis results of the leached solution, the optimum condition for the recovery of neodymium was found that leaching temperature, leaching time and pulp density are 80$^{\circ}C$, 3 hours, and 35%, respectively. At this optimum condition, more than 90% of neodymium could be recovered. Concentration of neodymium acetate in acetic acid. The optimum condition for the recovery of neodymium acetate crystal from the leached solution was that the initial leaching solution was evaporated until the remaining volume was about 1/5 of the initial volume. At this condition, 67.5% of neodymium was recovered from the leached solution. The neodymium remaining in the concentrated solution was recovered by reacting it with oxalic acid.

The demand for Ru has been increasing in the electronic, chemical and semiconductor industry. Chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) is one of the fabrication processes for electrode formation and barrier layer removal. The abrasive particles can be easily contaminated on the top surface during the CMP process. This can induce adverse effects on subsequent patterning and film deposition processes. In this study, a post Ru CMP cleaning solution was formulated by using sodium periodate as an etchant and citric acid to modify the zeta potential of alumina particles and Ru surfaces. Ru film (150 nm thickness) was deposited on tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) films by the atomic layer deposition method. Ru wafers were cut into $2.0{\times}2.0$ cm pieces for the surface analysis and used for estimating PRE. A laser zeta potential analyzer (LEZA-600, Otsuka Electronics Co., Japan) was used to obtain the zeta potentials of alumina particles and the Ru surface. A contact angle analyzer (Phoenix 300, SEO, Korea) was used to measure the contact angle of the Ru surface. The adhesion force between an alumina particle and Ru wafer surface was measured by an atomic force microscope (AFM, XE-100, Park Systems, Korea). In a solution with citric acid, the zeta potential of the alumina surface was changed to a negative value due to the adsorption of negative citrate ions. However, the hydrous Ru oxide, which has positive surface charge, could be formed on Ru surface in citric acid solution at pH 6 and 8. At pH 6 and 8, relatively low particle removal efficiency was observed in citric acid solution due to the attractive force between the Ru surface and particles. At pH 10, the lowest adhesion force and highest cleaning efficiency were measured due to the repulsive force between the contaminated alumina particle and the Ru surface. The highest PRE was achieved in citric acid solution with NaIO4 below 0.01 M at pH 10.
