서울귀룽나무 잎의 배당체에 관한 연구 제1보

  • The leaves of prunus padus L. var. Seoulensis Nakai distributed widely in Korea, were extracted with boiling alcohol(95%) after being mixed with calcium carbonate. The aqueous solution distilled off alcohol from the above filtered extract under the reduced pressure was evaporated to the dryness. The residue was extracted with acetic ether on the water-bath and the acetic ether solution extract was allowed to stand for a weck after removing out of acetic ether almostly, then a colorless necdles were Crystalized out which has the following characteristics : $C_{14}$ $H_{17}$ $O_{6}$ N, began to melt at 138-139.deg. bitter taste [.alpha.]$_$ $D^{20}$ ]=-26.99.deg. soluble in water, alcohol acetone acetic ether etc. slightly soluble in chloroform. It was proved to be identical with prunasine due to above characteristics and determination of Benzal-dehyde HCN and glucose respectively which was obtained on hydrolysis of this glycoside with emulsine.

  • Bioassay-guided fractionation of an organic extract of the culture broth from an unidentified marine-derived fungus led to the isolation of a new metabolite, N-[2-(4-hydroxyphenyl) acetyl]formamide (1), along with four known polyketides, 4-hydroxyphenyl acetamide (2), 4-hydroxyphenyl acetic acid (3), 3,4-dihydroxyphenyl acetic acid (4), and N-[2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethenyl]formamide (5). The structures of 1-5 were elucidated by spectral data analyses. Among them, compounds 1, 4, and 5 exhibited significant radical scavenging activity against 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) with $IC_{50}$ values of 8.4, 11.9, and $0.2{\mu}M$, respectively.

  • A method is developed for simultaneously determining ethanol and acetic acid in vinegars by quantitative packed-column gas chromatography. Vinegars were filtrated and directly chromatographed on a $2\;m{\times}2\;mm$ stainless steel column packed with Tenax-GC, 80/100. Ethanol, isopropy alcohol as an internal standard, and acetic acid were completely separated within 20 min of running time without any interfering peaks. The accuracy of packed column gas solid chromatography (PCGSC) was discussed compared to the analytical data by titration, high performance liquid chromatography and capillary column gas liquid chromatography (CCGLC).

Characteristics of the Volatile Flavor Compounds in the Oil from Roasted Sesame Seed (참기름의 휘발성 향기성분의 특성)

  • The volatile compounds in sesame oil were collected by a dynamic headspace technique and analyzed using a gas chromatograph with a flame ionization detector and an olfactory detector. Twenty compounds such as methylpyrazine, acetic acid, 2-furan carboxaldehyde and 2-furanmethanol were separated and identified with a mass spectrometric detector. The result of sniffing test showed that pyrazine compounds and 2-furan-carboxaldehyde had a sweet and roasted flavor whereas acetic acid and 2-furanmethanol stinked.

  • Two new prodrugs of lonazolac, lonazolac acetic acid ester and lonazolac argininate, were prepared and examined for physicochemical properties and biopharmaceutical characteristics. The prodrugs were stable in solid state and lonazolac argininate showed higher dissolution rate than lonazolacca in both artificial gastric and intestinal juices. These prodrugs have higher analgegic effect than that of lonazolac-Ca in mice, and increased anti-inflammatory activities in rats. In addition, ulcerogenic effects and acute toxicity of these prodrugs were lower than those of lonaaolac-Ca. Lonazolac acetic acid ester showed larger area under the plasma concentration-time curves (AUC) than that of lonazolac. Therefore, it was suggested that these prodrugs of lonazolac have advantages over lonzolac-Ca for not only enhanced bioavailability but also decreased ulcerogenic and toxic effects.

  • An yeast assimilating ethanol, acetic acid and acetaldehyde among $C_2$-compounds was isolated. The morphological, cultural, physiological and biochemical properties of the isolate were examined. As the results of taxonomical researches, the isolate was identified as the genus Candida.

  • S-Hydroxypropyl(PH) ${\beta}$-cyclodextrin(hydrophilic), dialkyl(DA)-cyclodextrin(hydrophobic), trifluoroacetyl(TA) ${\gamma}$-cyclodextrin(intermediate) stationary phases were used for gas chromatographic separation of racemic alcohols and their derivatives. All the alcohols used for this experiment were derivatived by using trifluoro acetic anhydride, acetic anhydride, or trichloro acetic anhydride. It is apparent that the enantioselectivity of the enantiomeric pairs was very dependent on the type of acylation reagent. The best experimental condition of optical resolution of the alcohols and their derivatives was different on the polarity of the solute molecules. The chiral separation was also studied depending on temperature, polarity of the column, and hydrogen bonding ability and steric effect between the alchols and CD stationary phase. The chiral recognition mechanism is dependent not upon the kinds of the chiral stationay phases but upon the derivatization of the racemic alchols.

  • Recovery of acids from the waste etching solution of containing acetic, nitric and hydrofluoric acid discharged from silicon wafer manufacturing process has been attempted by using solvent extraction method. EHA(2-Ethylhexlalcohol) for acetic acid and TBP(Tri-butly Phosphate) for nitric and hydrofluoric acid as a extraction agent was used to the experiment to obtain the process design data in separation procedure. From the experimental data and McCabe-Thiele diagram analysis, we obtained the optimum conditions of phase ratio(O/A) and stages to separate each acid sequently from the mixed acids. The recovery yield was obtained above 90% for acetic acid from the acid mixtures, 90% for nitric acid from acetic acid extraction raffinate and then above 67% for hydrofluoric acid from final extraction raffinate.

  • This study was carried out to evaluate the growth characteristics of Lactobacillus acidophilus KCCM 32820 and Propionibacterium freudenreichii KCCM 31227 and the production of propionic and acetic acids in 5% and 10% whey broth by mixed culture of L. acidophilus KCCM 32820 and P. freudenreichii KCCM 31227. Exponential phase of L. acidophilus KCCM 32820 was in the range of $6\sim12$ hrs and P. freudenreichii KCCM 31227 was in the range of $36\sim108$ hrs. In the mixed culture, production of propionic acid was shown to be greater value in the 10% whey broth than in the 5% whey broth and to be greater value in the low temperature for a long time than in sterilization by autoclave. Maximum production of propionic acid was 8.88 mg/mL in the 10% whey broth fermented at 120hrs. Production of acetic acid was revealed to be greater value in the 10% whey broth than in the 5% whey broth. The production quantity ratio of propionic acid to acetic acid was shown between $2:1\sim3:1$ during the fermentation process.

The Clinical Characteristics and Prognosis after Acute Ingestion of Glacial Acetic Acid (급성 빙초산 음독의 임상 양상 및 예후)

  • Purpose: A retrospective study with a literature review was conducted to identify the clinical characteristics and prognosis after the acute ingestion of glacial acetic acid. Methods: The medical records of 20 patients,who had presented to the emergency department of Ajou University Hospital complaining of the acute ingestion of glacial acetic acid between January 2006 and December 2011, were examined retrospectively. Results: Among the 172 patients admitted for caustics injury, 20 patients ingested glacial acetic acid. The mean age of the patients was $55{\pm}23.5$, and the mean volume of the acid was $84.5{\pm}71.3$ ml. The clinical features included 1) oral ulcers in 12 patients (63.2%), 2) respiratory difficulties in 11 patients (57.9%), 3) oliguria in 8 patients (42.1%), 4) renal toxicity in 7 patients (36.8%), 5) hepatic failure in 7 patients (36.8%), 6) disseminated intravascular boagulopathyin 7 patients (36.8%), 7) low blood pressure in 8 patients (42.1%), and 8) mental changes in 9 patients (47.4%). Ten patients required endotracheal intubation. Nine patients were admitted to the intensive care unit, and 5 patients expired. Conclusion: The ingestion of glacial acetic acid can cause severe symptoms, such as metabolic acidosis, multiple organ failure and upper airway swelling frequently and has a high mortality rate. Therefore, aggressive treatment, including endotracheal intubation, should be considered at the early stages.
