  • This research consists of (1) building (or molding) the Dynamics Simulation Model on Return Policy mainly used in publications, phonographs, and computer industry; which are seen used in supply chain contract known as effective control mechanism under the varied supply chain situations, and (2) analyzing the effects that return rates and seller's contract parameters have in the outcome of the model and (3) observing how the effectiveness of Return Policy changes under such circumstances where the buyer's sales ability and the seller's risk inclination are taken into account. Thus, the main purpose of this research lies in analyzing what exactly are the effects (and or outcome) that sales ability and risk inclination have in Return Policy, and additionally by conducting comprehensive research on Supply Chain Policy Dynamics Simulation Model, we will try to prove that not only the Systems Dynamics approach is highly contributive in supply chain management but also that it will serve as a foothold in future research. As a result of the research, supply chain achievement level turned out to be high when Return Policy is enforced, and the achievement level was even higher when seller's sales ability was taken into consideration along with the Return Policy. On the other hand, the achievement level decreased when the seller had risk aversive tendencies.

현대 무기체계 소프트웨어 개발 사례 분석을 통한 품질개선 방안에 대한 연구 (An Investigation into Improving the Quality of Modern Weapon System Software Products: a Case Study)

  • As modern weapon systems have evolved into embedded software systems, the capability to develop, install, and maintain high-quality software products is becoming increasingly valuable in today's competitive aerospace and defense industry. It is desirable, especially for government-contracted projects whose end-users are military personnel, that specific types of software quality elements are assured early during product development; namely, functionality and usability. Motivated by this need to approach improving software quality from a user's perspective, this paper presents a case study that analyzes system-level software integration testing results for a weapon system indigenously developed in the Republic of Korea. Quantitative data, such as software defect ratios and configuration change rates, are computed to observe meaningful trends with respect to functionality - represented by tests designed to verify the system's electrical signal interfaces - and usability, which is evaluated in terms of how often the initial human-computer interface had to be re-designed. Insights gained from these exercises are subsequently presented as a set of "lessons learned" to take into account when developing new software items for complex weapon systems.

해안사구의 토지이용과 경관가치에 대한 시스템 사고 (Systems Thinking for the Land Use and Landscape Value of Coastal Dune)

  • This study aimed to suggest the directions for the landscape protection of Sindu-ri coastal dune based on its ecological system. The study investigated ecological systems of the coastal dune followed by damage causes of coastal dune according to the land use change, and landscape value of coastal dune in the study area. In order to construct causal-effect feedback loop, systems thinking was performed. Result of this study showed that the area of coastal dune and the amount of sand are maintained by the interaction with sand beach while they are affected by wind direction, wind speed, and dune plants. It was also found that the changes of land use pattern, increasing commercial area, and planted windbreak forest damaged to the coastal dune. In addition, size of coastal dune and growing number of dune plants increased landscape value of coastal dune and tourist draw. However increasing tourists have constantly affected land use changes and have damaged to coastal dune area. In sum, planning for land use regulation, rest-year system areas, promotion and education for coastal dune, dune plants protection, and windbreak management should be taken into account for landscape protection in coastal dune.

  • Achievement of objectives of education and training is one of significant factors influencing quality of life. Higher education institutions use different work, teaching methods and tools; however they are inadequate in many cases. Today higher education institutions have problems concerning sustention and rise of certain level of education by giving the job for graduates, using of new technologies that help to present, manage, evaluate and control knowledge. The main objectives of quality management system (QMS) at higher education institutions are as follow: to assure continuous improvement of education quality; to demonstrate performance results and relevant facts to the interested parties (customers of college or university, social partners, administrative institutions) showing the abilities of education institution to prepare high qualification specialists that fully correspond to changing requirements of labour market. The QMS at education institutions should be designed as continuous process, considering that the quality of final product is the result achieved in primary processes. The process shall involve all interested parties. Parameters and indicators of education quality can help to analyze the efficiency and effectiveness of existing QMS. The results of quality audits should be also taken into account when designing and implementing QMS at organization. Literature review showed that for the assurance of education quality three different approaches prevail: total quality management (TQM); requirements of quality awards and assessment models; and QMS corresponding to the requirements of ISO 9001 standard. The case study of QMS design and implementation at Vilnius Law and Business College is presented in the paper. The peculiarities, difficulties and obstacles of QMS implementation in the higher educations institutions are analysed in more detail in this article.

효율적 건강검진관리를 위한 미수검자의 특성 분석 - 건강보험 지역 가입자 중심으로 - (Analyses of the Non-Examinees' Characteristics for the Effective Health Screening Management)

  • This study was conducted as the primary work to develop a customer relationship management (CRM) system to improve the performance of health screening programs. The specific aims of the study was to identify and classify the characteristics of the people who did not receive their health screening using decision trees and to propose management strategies according to their characteristics identified. The data on a total of 5,102,761 subjects of health screening provided by the National Health Insurance Program in the year of 2002 were used. The target variable was whether they underwent their health screening. The input variables included a total of 27. The SAS 9.1 version was used for data preprocessing and statistical analyses. SAS Enterprise Miner was used to develop the decision trees model. The decision trees identified the factors greatly affecting the health screening. In the non-disease group, the highest rate of non-examinees was characterized by: no experience of receiving a health screen, household's age, non-insured episode for the last one year, and patients' age. In the disease group, the one showing the highest rate of non-examinees was characterized by: no experience of receiving a health screening, no experience of going to public health center or midwife clinic for the last one year, and examinees' age. Developing CRM systems for health screening management taking into account the individual characteristics would be considerably helpful to increase the rate of receiving health screening.

A Taxonomy of Workflow Architectures

  • This paper proposes a conceptual taxonomy of architectures for workflow management systems. The systematic classification work is based on a framework for workflow architectures. The framework, consisting of generic-level, conceptual-level and implementation-level architectures, provides common architectural principles for designing a workflow management system. We define the taxonomy by considering the possibilities for centralization or distribution of data, control, and execution. That is, we take into account three criteria. How are the major components of a workflow model and system, like activities, roles, actors, and workcases, concretized in workflow architecture. Which of the components is represented as software modules of the workflow architecture\ulcorner And how are they configured and operating in the architecture\ulcorner The workflow components might be embodied, as active (processes or threads) modules or as passive (data) modules, in the software architecture of a workflow management system. One or combinations of the components might become software modules in the software architecture. Finally, they might be centralized or distributed. The distribution of the components should be broken into three: Vertically, Horizontally and Fully distributed. Through the combination of these aspects, we can conceptually generate about 64 software Architectures for a workflow management system. That is, it should be possible to comprehend and characterize all kinds of software architectures for workflow management systems including the current existing systems as well as future systems. We believe that this taxonomy is a significant contribution because it adds clarity, completeness, and global perspective to workflow architectural discussions. The vocabulary suggested here includes workflow levels and aspects, allowing very different architectures to be discussed, compared, and contrasted. Added clarity is obtained because similar architectures from different vendors that used different terminology and techniques can now be seen to be identical at the higher level. Much of the complexity can be removed by thinking of workflow systems. Therefore, it is used to categorize existing workflow architectures and suggest a plethora of new workflow architectures. Finally, the taxonomy can be used for sorting out gems and stones amongst the architectures possibly generated. Thus, it might be a guideline not only for characterizing the existing workflow management systems, but also for solving the long-term and short-term architectural research issues, such as dynamic changes in workflow, transactional workflow, dynamically evolving workflow, large-scale workflow, etc., that have been proposed in the literature.

  • In terms of reinforcing the functions and services of rescue 119 and emergency corps, we must review the following considerations : Building up security system along with operational expansion, building up a system for emergency medical treatment, buliding up a comprehensive information management system for rescue and emergency, constructing a provincial safety museum and so forth. For the ways to better the works of rescue 119, we can review the following considerations : Improving the education for fire fighting trainging corps under Jeju Provicial Fire and disaster management department, providing rescue members with more opportunity for clinical practices, enhancing the morale of rescue members, installing a comprehensive briefing room for emergency rescue members, building up medical networks along with reasonable policies for information service, operating the consulting system for rescue 119 and so on. Provide little more superior quality high fire fighting service to jeju islander, and need long-term and elaborate research to correspond in rising fire fighting man-power demand newly and investment. Construction of well-matched disaster administration system is assignment that must hurry in international free city. That jejudo receives time factor about that is received for another thing area's number of persons or equipment when regional special quality large scale or disaster happens is that of course the support receives limitation immediately. Jeju fire fighting services is one story reform, specialization taking into account particular situation of jeju area to grow as sightseeing and center of culture intending international free city, should be upgraded.   • An extensive range of pumping facilities are employed in the regional water supply system in metropolitan areas, and optimization and the systematic combination of the pump facilities have direct bearing on the stability and economy of the water supply system concerned. These systems must be able to guarantee stability, efficiency and offer high reliability. Preparation of metropolitan area regional water supply system construction project must include a basic plan which takes into account the suitability of pumping facilities to be used, the environment in which facilities will be installed, man-power requirements and basic operational and management policies. This paper contains over-all analysis of the management of metropolitan area regional water supply systems and highlights the cause of Inefficiency and energy waste and puts forward a remedial plan of action. In addition, pump/motor specification programs were developed using Visual Basic to assist selection of the same.

  • 환경적인 측면에서 살펴보면, 외환위기로 인한 정부의 적극적인 외화유치 촉진책으로 외국 유통업체의 국내진출이 활발해지면서 소규모 업체의 도산이 이어지고 새로운 소비문화가 형성되고 있다. 경기침체, 감원, 정리해고 등으로 소규모 자본의 창업이 붐을 이루고 있으마 신규 유통개발이나 개선이라는 측면보다는 기존방식의 축소판이나 가맹점시스템이 대부분이다. 점포주의 경영과 관리가 미숙하며 시장조사나 상권분석이 제대로 이루어지지 않아 매출 목표달성을 하기가 매우 어려운 실정이다. 정보기술의 혁신으로 멀티커뮤니케이션이 이루어져 소비자의 구매형태가 빠르게 변화하고 점포의 적극적인 영업 체계가 필요함으로 점포주에게 소매점 변신의 필요성을 강조하고 상품디스플레이의 중요성을 인식시켜 구매력을 높이기 위한 제품이미지별 테마를 선정하여 정확히 연출하여야 한다. 이를 위해 귀금속점포를 사례로 디자인 설계안을 제시하여 점포클리닉을 추진할 수 있도록 하였으며 이를 통하여 점포경영의 선진화를 모색할 수 있다.
