사고보고문서를 이용한 텍스트 기반 사고발생 유형 및 관계 분석 (Text Analytics for Classifying Types of Accident Occurrence Using Accident Report Documents)

  • Recently, a lot of accident report documents have accumulated in almost all of industries, including critical information of accidents. Accordingly, text data contained in accident report documents are considered useful information for understanding accident processes. However, there has been a lack of systematic approaches to analyzing accident report documents. In this respect, this paper aims at proposing text analytics approach to extracting critical information on accident processes. To be specific, major causes of the accident occurrence are classified based on text information contained in accident report documents by using both textmining and latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) algorithms. The textmining algorithm is used to structure the document-term matrix and the LDA algorithm is applied to extract latent topics included in a lot of accident report documents. We extract ten topics of accidents as accident types and related keywords of accidents with respect to each accident type. The cause-and-effect diagram is then depicted as a tool for navigating processes of the accident occurrence by structuring causes extracted from LDA. Further, the trends of accidents are identified to explore patterns of accident occurrence in each of types. Three patterns of increasing to decreasing, decreasing to increasing, or only increasing are presented in the case of a chemical plant. The proposed approach helps safety managers systematically supervise the causes and processes of accidents through analysis of text information contained in accident report documents.

Comparisons of Traffic Collisions between Expressways and Rural Roads in Truck Drivers

  • Background: Truck driving is known as one of the occupations with the highest accident rate. This study investigates the characteristics of traffic collisions according to road types (expressway and rural road). Methods: Classifying 267 accidents into expressway and rural road, we analyzed them based on driver characteristics (age, working experience, size of employment), time characteristics (day of accident, time, weather), and accident characteristics (accident causes, accident locations, accident types, driving conditions). Results: When we compared the accidents by road conditions, no differences were found between the driver characteristics. However, from the accident characteristics, the injured person distributions were different by the road conditions. In particular, driving while drowsy is shown to be highly related with the accident characteristics. Conclusion: This study can be used as a guideline and a base line to develop a plan of action to prevent traffic accidents. It can also help to prepare formal regulations about a truck driver's vehicle maintenance and driving attitude for a precaution on road accidents.

  • The purpose of this study is to predict and classify the accident types based on the KOSHA (Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency) and weather data. We also have an effort to suggest an important management method according to accident types by deriving feature importance. We designed two models based on accident data and weather data (model(a)) and only weather data (model(b)). As a result of random forest method, the model(b) showed a lack of accuracy in prediction. However, the model(a) presented more accurate prediction results than the model(b). Thus we presented safety management plan based on the results. In the future, this study will continue to carry out real time prediction to occurrence types to prevent safety accidents by supplementing the real time accident data and weather data.

실사고 기반 자동긴급제동장치 차량의 교차로 사고 경향 분석 (Analysis of Intersection Accident Trend of Autonomous Emergency Braking system Vehicle based on Actual Accident)

  • The purpose of this study is to predict how the actual accident changes by reconstructing the accident with an Autonomous Emergency Braking system (AEB) based on the actual accident of the LTAP-OD (Left Turn Crossing Path - Opponent Direction) intersection. A virtual AEB sensor was developed, and 150 head-on collision accident reports were secured to the insurance company to reconstruct the accident. As a result of the accident type analysis, a total of 13 types of head-on collision accidents were derived, and it is the LTAP-OD intersection accident with the highest frequency. In the LTAP-OD intersection accident, the simulation was conducted by applying the virtual AEB of each vehicle, the accident rate decreased by 90% or more when the AEB of the left-turn vehicle was applied, and the accident rate decreased by 50%. In addition, the most frequent collision types in LTAP-OD accidents were the front bumper on the driver's side of a vehicle going straight and the front bumper on the passenger's side of a vehicle turning left.

자동차사고 손상유형과 상해에 관한 실사고 연구 (A Real-world Accident Study on Vehicle Damage Types and Occupant Injury)

  • Base on insurance vehicle collision and bodily injury claim reports, 23,655 cases of vehicle to vehicle accidents occurred in Korea 2010 are investigated in order to understand vehicle damage severities, repair costs and occupant injury types. The results of our statistical analysis reveal that minor damages with small dent or scratches on vehicle body panels which is assumed to imply during very low speed crashes are major portion of accident severities types. The most vulnerable body regions due to the real-world accident are neck. The 86.3% of total injured driver in minor rear damaged vehicles has reported neck pains and they are followed by whole bodies and head but with much lower occurrence rates.

환경미화원의 작업별 산업재해 발생형태에 관한 연구 (A Study on Types of Municipal Sanitation Workers' Occupational Accident by Work Type)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study is to identify the characteristics of occupational accidents by work type among municipal sanitation workers. Methods: The original data of occupational accidents in 2009 by Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency were analyzed by frequency and percentage using the SAS Version 9.1. Results: The types of occupational accident were as follows: slips and trips, falls, musculoskeletal disorders, traffic accident, collision, amputation, cut & puncture, crush injuries, strenuous movement and drop/fly. Slips and trips occurred most frequently in domestic waste collection and street sweeping. The traffic accident showed the highest incidence in food waste collection. Falls occurred most frequently in recycling waste collection. Musculoskeletal disorders showed the highest incidence in large waste collection. Conclusion: Depending on the work type, types of occupational accident were different. The results of this study can provide the information for the development of the occupational accident prevention programs of municipal sanitation workers.

산재보험 적용의 실효성 제고방안 : 근로자의 재해대응유형 및 원인분석을 중심으로 (The Study on the Enhancement of Effectiveness of Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance's Application : Focusing on the Employee's Corresponding Types and Casual Analysis)

  • This paper is to investigate the employees' corresponding types and casual analysis. It proposes the legal and practical measures for improvement of Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance's usability. The results from the empirical analysis indicate that (1) 91.4 percent of the respondents feel the necessity of Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance, (2) 67.4 percent of the respondents perceive that Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance is useful, (3) employers' perceptions of the specific items of Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance appears to be low. (4) 35.9 percent of the respondents deal with industrial accidents through other ways such as health insurance and car insurance. The study ends with discussion of the findings and provides several theoretical and managerial implications and recommendations for future research and applications.

교차로, 횡단보도, 터널 구간에서 사고유형에 따른 상대적 위험도 분석 (Analysis of Relative Risk by Accident Types at Intersections, Crosswalk and Tunnel Sections)

  • 본 연구는 교차로, 횡단보도, 터널 구간에서 교통사고 유형에 따른 위험 순위를 비교 분석한 것이다. 서울, 경기도에서 발생한 2014년부터 2017년까지의 교통사고자료 중 교통량 및 속도 자료와 결합 가능한 58,868건의 자료를 구축하고, 순서형 로짓모형을 활용하여 사고심각도 추정모형을 구축하였다. 추정된 모형을 기반으로 사고심각도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 규명하고, 영향을 미치는 정도를 살펴보았다. 또한 사고발생위치(교차로, 횡단보도, 터널)별, 사고유형별, 사고발생 시간이나 상황별로 상대적 위험도 분석을 통해 위험순위를 제시하였다. 분석 결과 사고발생 위치와 시간에 따라 사고심각도에 현격한 차이를 보이는 것으로 나타났으며, 분석 자료로부터 산출된 사고 발생 빈도와 사고심각도와 비교해봤을 때, 발생 빈도가 적더라도 사고심각도 측면에서는 위중하거나, 발생 빈도가 높고, 사고심각도 또한 위중한 경우가 존재하는 것으로 분석되었다. 이러한 교통사고유형의 위험 평가를 통해 도로별로 상대적으로 위험한 사고유형에 대한 이해가 가능하고 도로별, 사고유형의 교통사고 위험도 지수 개발에 기초자료 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

공사유형별 건설수주액을 고려한 건설재해수준 평가기법 (Assessment of Accident Level Based on Contract Amount by Type of Construction)

  • 재해자수를 상시근로자수로 나눈 값이 재해율이다. 건설공사의 경우 공사실적과 노무비율을 기준으로 하여 상시근로자수를 추정하고 이를 이용하여 재해율을 산정하므로 재해율의 정확도가 낮아질 수 있다. 또한 현행 재해율 산정기준은 공사유형간의 특성을 반영하고 있지 않다. 본 연구는 공사종류별 특성을 고려한 재해율 보완방식을 제시하는 것으로 목적으로 진행하였으며, 지난 18년간의 공사실적 및 재해건수 통계자료를 바탕으로 상관분석과 선형회귀분석, 중회귀분석 등을 실시하여 공사유형과 재해유형간의 관계를 나타내는 회귀식을 도출하였다. 본 연구에서 제시한 수식은 기존의 건설공사 재해율의 단점을 보완하여 재해의 증감 및 예년대비 재해율의 높고낮음을 판단하는 보조지표로서의 활용이 가능할 것으로 기대된다.

보통인부의 안전재해 변화추이 및 재해강도 분석 (An Analysis of Safety Accident Trend and Severity for General Workers)

  • The safety accident of construction industries occur variously in other industries, including other industries, resulting in significant losses of human and material losses. In particular, General worker represents the highest safety accident rate each year, and the various types of accidents are the ones that show the greatest interest in the field, which is the most interesting job in the field. This study aims to identify trends in safety hazards and to analyze the accident severity for major types and influence factors.
