냉동기 고장경향분석을 통한 설비신뢰도향상 방안 제시 (The Suggestion of Reliability Improvement Method based on Failure Trend Analysis of Chiller)

  • Chiller system plays an important role of maintaining room temperature constantly by supplying chilled water to Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning(HVAC)or area room cooler equipment during plant normal operation or accident condition. Chiller failures are one of the most frequently occurring equipment failures. If the types of chiller failures are analyzed and grouped thoroughly, it would be helpful to make chiller maintenance strategy at the plants. That would enhance equipment reliability of chiller in the end. In this paper, chiller failure data during three years were analyzed and categorized by specific failure code. In addition, the various proposals to improve equipment reliability of chiller were suggested such as Preventive Maintenance Optimization(PMO) strategy and performance monitoring reinforcement and so on.

Leak Evaluation for Power Plant Valve Using Multi-Measuring Method

  • Condition based maintenance(CBM) for the preventive diagnosis of important equipments related to safety or accident in power plant is essential by using the suitable methods based on actual power plant conditions. To improve the reliability and accuracy of the measured value at the minute leak situation, and also to monitor continuously internal leak condition of power plant valve, the development of a diagnosis and monitoring technique using multi-measuring method should be performed urgently. This study was conducted to estimate the feasibility of multi-measuring method using three different methods such as acoustic emission(AE) method, thermal image measurement and temperature difference$({\Delta}T)$ measurement that are applicable to internal leak diagnosis for the power plant valve. From the experimental results, it was suggested that the multi-measuring method could be an effective way to precisely diagnose and evaluate internal leak situation of valve.

  • 해상 부이는 항로 및 위험물 표지, 기상 및 해양 환경 모니터링, 군사 전략 요소 등 다양한 목적으로 운용되는 설비이다. 이러한 해상 부이가 선박 충돌 등으로 인해 손상되면 해양이라는 특수성으로 인해 복구 및 교체 작업에 많은 시간과 비용이 소요되며, 표류 시 2차 사고의 위험성이 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 해상 부이를 보호하기 위하여 트레일 카메라 및 AIS를 활용한 능동감시 및 접근경보 시스템의 개발에 관한 내용을 다룬다. 이러한 시스템의 개발을 위하여 기존 국내외 연구 및 유사 시스템 개발 사례를 분석한 후, 개선 요구사항을 도출하고, 도출된 내용을 바탕으로 시스템을 설계한다. 설계 시 주안점을 둔 내용으로는 AIS와 트레일 카메라 연계형 능동 감시, 선박 접근에 대한 단계별 경보, 육상과 부이의 거리에 따른 선택적 통신매체 적용, 영상 처리를 통한 선박 식별 및 경보 제공, 열화상 카메라의 적용 등 크게 다섯 가지가 있다. 또한, 설계된 내용을 바탕으로 시스템을 개발하고, 실험실 혹은 필드 수준의 테스트를 통해 개발한 시스템의 유용성을 검증한다.

산업보건서비스체계의 효율적 관리방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Reforming the Occupational Health Care System is Korea)

  • The objectives of this study are (i) to review current situations and problems of the occupational health care system with emphasis on reforming the organizations and services, (ii) to find out a disirable occupational health system model based on integration of the occupational health system and the general health system, and finally, (iii) to suggest policy implications in occupational health services in the light of objectives of the newly emerging national health insurance reform in Korea. The major policy implications of this study are as follows: 1. In the long-run, within the occupational health system, preventive occupational health services such as employees' physical check-up, working environment examination, etc should financially be integrated with industrial accident compensation insurance. Currently separately paying expenses for each different category of services by the owner of an enterprise should be disbursed once through the payment of contributions of industrial accident compensation insurance. And then, it is necessary to strengthen and expand the role and function of industrial accident compensation insurance to cover preventive occupational health services. 2. The occupational health system should be integrated with general health system for its effective management. For the short-term policy, it is necessary to eliminate fiscal and access barrier between industrial accident compensation insurance and national health insurance by means of ex post facto settlement of accounts. The duplication of employees' physical check- ups between under the health insurance program and under the industrial health services must be coordinated in a manner either through mutual authorization by the two parties concerned or through merge into the health insurance. 3. The intent of current employees' physical check-up system focused on detection of occupational diseases, should be converted to an idea of medical surveillance system or biological moritoring system. The introduction of medical surveillance or biological monitoring system is a necessary condition to build a positive, effective and inexpensive occupational health care system.

Basic Architecture of Navigation Safety Module in S2 Service of Korean e-Navigation System

  • IMO introduced the concept of e-Navigation and proposed MSPs(Maritime Service Portfolios) concept to reduce marine accidents, to improve efficiency of ship operation, port operation, and ship operation technology. Korean e-Navigation defines S1 ~ S5 services, as the service concept focused on domestic e-Navigation service corresponding to IMO MSPs, and is constructing a system as an ongoing project. S2 service (onboard system remote monitoring service) among the concepts of Korean e-Navigation services, is a service concept that judges the emergency level according to risk if an abnormal condition occurs during navigation, and provides corresponding guidance to accident ships based on emergency level. The purpose of this paper is to provide a basic architecture proposal of Korean e-Navigation S2 service navigation safety module, based on the S2 service operation concept. To do this, we conducted a questionnaire survey to ask experts with experience with sailors, to respond to the subjective risk experienced by sailors considering effects of anomalies, including equipment failure relative to sailing and navigational safety. Risk level for each abnormal condition was classified. The basic algorithm design of the navigation safety module is composed of safety index (SI) calculation module based on results of questionnaire and expert opinions, safety level (SL) determination module according to safety index, and corresponding guidance generation module according to safety level. To conduct basic validation of basic architecture of the navigation safety module, simulation of the ship anomaly monitoring was performed, and results have been revealed.

간섭제거를 위한 TPMS 빔형성기들의 복잡도 비교 (Computational Complexity Comparison of TPMS Beamformers for Interference Suppression)

  • 타이어 파손으로 인한 사고를 사전에 방지하기 위해 개발된 TPMS(Tire Pressure Monitoring System)는 타이어에 장착된 센서부로부터 전송된 데이터를 기반으로 타이어의 이상 유무를 디스플레이 장치에 표시하고 운전자가 실시간으로 타이어의 온도, 압력 등의 정보를 수시로 파악하여 최적의 주행조건을 유지시켜주기 위한 안전보조시스템이다. 무선통신을 사용하는 TPMS는 측정된 데이터의 송수신 시 간섭이나 잡음으로 인해 데이터 전송 시 수신 오류가 발생할 수 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 스위칭(Switching), MVDR(Minimum-Variance Distortionless-Response), GSC(Generalized Sidelobe Canceler) 빔형성기(Beamformer) 등과 같은 간섭제거에 효율적인 대표적인 빔형성 기술들을 사용한다. 본 논문에서는 이 세 가지 빔형성기의 복잡도를 계산하여, 복잡도 성능 비교에 대한 수학적 근거를 제시한다. 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통하여 본 논문에서 고려된 세 가지 빔형성기의 복잡도 성능을 확인한다.

  • Oil spills are a principal factor of the ocean pollution. The complicated problems involved in detecting oil spills are usually due to varying wind and sea surface condition such as ocean wave and current. The Hebei Spirit accident was happened in the west sea ($36^{\circ}$41'04" N, $126^{\circ}$03'12" E) near about 8 km distant from Tae-An, Korea on December 7, 2007. The aim of this work is to improve the detection and classification performance in order to define a more accurate training set and identifying the feature of oil spill region. This paper deals with an optimization technique for the detection and classification scheme using multi-frequency and multi-polarization SAR and optical image data sets of the oil spilled sea. The used image data are the ENVISAT ASAR WS and Radarsat-1 of C-band and ALOS PALSAR of L-band SAR data and KOMPSAT-2 optical images together with meteorological or oceanographic data. Both the theory and the experimental results obtained are discussed.

해양플랜트 LNG FPSO 압축기의 신뢰성 및 회귀분석 기반 고장시점 추정 방법 (A Study on Estimating the Next Failure Time of LNG FPSO Compressor)

  • The O&M (Operation and Maintenance) phase of offshore plants with a long life cycle requires heavy charges and more efforts than the construction phase, and the occurrence of an accident of an offshore plant causes catastrophic damage. So previous studies have focused on design for reliability, and recently many studies have dealt with a maintenance system to prevent unexpected failures. Nowadays due to the emerging ICTs (Information Communication Technologies) and sensor technologies, it is possible to send health monitoring information of important equipment to administrator of an offshore plant in real time, which leads to having much concern on condition based maintenance policy or predictive maintenance. In this study, we have reviewed previous studies associated with condition-based maintenance of offshore plants, and introduced the approaches predicting failures of the compressor which is one of essential mechanical devices in LNG FPSO.

Nowadays due to the emerging ICTs (Information Communication Technologies) and sensor technologies, it is possible to gather the status data of equipment and send health monitoring data to administrator of an offshore plant in a real time way, which leads to having much concern on the condition based maintenance policy. In this study, we have reviewed previous studies associated with CBM (Condition-Based Maintenance) of offshore plants, and introduced an algorithm predicting the next failure time of the compressor which is one of essential mechanical devices in LNG FPSO (Liquefied Natural Gas Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessel). To develop the algorithm, continuous time Markov model is applied based on gathered vibration data.

고속도로 교통사고 예방을 위한 가변제한속도 적용방안 연구 (A Study on the Application of Variable Speed Limits(VSL) for Preventing Accidents on Freeways)

  • 효과적인 가변제한속도(Variable Speed Limit: VSL)는 교통사고를 예방하고 교통정체를 완화시키는데 기여하는 중요한 교통류 제어방안이다. 본 연구에서는 교통사고 예방을 목적으로 가변제한속도를 적용하는 방법론을 제시하였다. 가변제한속도를 적용하는 조건을 두 가지로 분류하였는데, 사고위험도 예측모형에 따른 제한속도 변화와 도로환경조건의 변화에 따른 제한속도 조정 방안을 제안하였다. 예측된 사고위험도에 따른 가변제한속도의 적용은 검지기에서 추출되는 교통량, 속도, 점유율자료와 교통사고자료로 이항로지스틱회귀분석 기법을 사용하여 구축된 사고위험도 예측모형을 사용하였다. 한편, 도로환경조건에 따른 가변제한속도 적용에서는 안개, 폭우, 폭설로 인한 시거제약 상황과 결빙, 비, 눈으로 인한 노면마찰력감소상황 시 최소정지거리 계산을 통해 각 상황에 적용되어야 하는 제한속도를 제시하였다. 이를 바탕으로 통합도로환경조건 모니터링 시스템 하에서 사고위험도와 도로환경조건을 관측하고 제한속도를 변화시키는 가변제한속도 시스템 알고리즘을 제시하였으며, 제안된 알고리즘의 현장 적용 시 고려되어야 할 기술적 이슈를 논의하였다.
