  • In this paper, we explore a novel transportation container in the marine terminals. The container includes Smart Tag embedded with radio frequency(RF) chips, which is used to access information about productions and possibly incorporated with GPS systems for integrated managements of them. The proposed mechanism is valuable for decreasing cost, increasing satisfaction of customers, and preventing economic loss due to production missing, thus increase of economic efficiency is highly anticipated. Consequently, accurate and proficient management is considerably accomplished in overall procedures of inventory and currency by means of the proposed systems.

  • Currently, the use of the subway system as a public transportation has been an increasing demand due to the complex transportation structure in Korea. The subway system provides on time arrival and departure, relatively comfortable riding, and convenient access in the metropolitan area. Among several areas of the operation of the subway system, the safety of subway vehicle itself is of important because the rolling stocks carry the passengers, and the safety and reliability of rolling stocks are directly affected for the safety of subway passengers. In this research, various advanced engineering analysis techniques for the precision diagnosis assessment of subway EMUs have been introduced and the diagnosis assessment results have been used to provide the critical information for the lifetime assessment of EMUs.

A Study on the Medical tourism customized service platform for clinic

  • Through diversification of 4th industries and transportation and globalization, tourism was developed for medical purposes, not limited to touring tourist attractions. The trend of medical tourism in Korea is shifting from large and medium-sized hospitals to professional medical services in one area of small hospitals rather than professional medical services. However, small hospitals lack medical coordinators and interpretation services, and tourists who visit Korea for treatment lack information on small hospitals. Therefore, a platform is needed to match small hospitals with medical tourists. In this study, using Platform as a Service (Paas) in cloud computing, clinic administrators can access the app to introduce information about their hospitals with simple manipulations. Tourists also want to propose a customized platform to select the right area for them to check information about small-scale hospitals and choose the treatment and tourist attractions they wants.   • In recent years, LEED-NC (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for New Construction) has become one of the most widely adopted environmental certification systems in the United States. However, according to some researchers, the adoption of the LEED-NC is perceived to add to construction cost and duration compared to conventional building standards. Therefore, it is necessary to examine the economic benefits of LEED-NC to consider how it can be applied worldwide. This study focuses on the impact of LEED-NC on the appraised unit value of parcels in San Francisco County based on the number of LEED-NC Public Transportation Access (PTA) qualified buses, light rail and commuter rail stops, distance to the closest bus, light rail and commuter rail stops, zoning class and parcel size. As a population of interest, San Francisco County was chosen since it is known as a region with well-organized transportation systems including bus, light rail and commuter rail systems. According to the correlation results, this study shows that the appraised land value is significantly affected by LEED-NC PTA, and is correlated to a higher appraised unit value of land parcels.

Design of Public Transportation Route Guidance System for Wheelchair Users Utilizing Public Data of Seoul City

  • The purpose of this study is to design and test a new way of public transportation route guidance system for persons with disabilities, including wheelchair users. The guidance system is smartphone app-based, using, routes that involve disabled-friendly facilities in the vicinity can be searched. A database that contains publicly available data on low-floor bus services, location and extent of disabled-friendly facilities, and suitable subways and stations, was developed for this purpose. The app uses the database to access and query the required information. A pilot study was conducted to test the effectiveness of the guidance system. It was found that the system was able to convey information about the disabled-friendly routes and related guidance information even inside subway stations, effectively. The performance of the system was compared with route guidance services that do not explicitly use data on disabled-friendly services. A notable difference was observed in the travel time estimated by this program and other guidance services. The difference was around 4 to 15 minutes. This is significant savings for persons with disabilities if they use the app and service. The study thus shows that exclusive use of disabled-friendly data in route guidance will bring more benefits for persons with disabilities.

ODPM Channel Estimation Method using Multiple MRC and New Reliability Test in IEEE 802.11p Systems with Receive Diversity

  • In IEEE 802.11p-based wireless access in vehicular environments (WAVE) communication systems, channel estimation (CE) is one of the important issues to provide stable communication service. It is hard to apply conventional CE schemes based on data pilot to real systems, because error propagation occurs in high mobility and modulation order environments, resulting in degrading the CE performance. In this paper, we propose one data pilot using multiple receive antennas (ODPM) CE scheme based on the weighted sum using update matrix (WSUM) with time-domain averaging (TDA) to overcome this problem. Within the process of WSUM-TDA in the proposed scheme, the maximum ratio combining (MRC) technique is applied so as to create more accurate one data pilot. Moreover, a new reliability test criterion is proposed as the fashion of utilizing MRC, which makes it possible to apply selective TDA that guarantees performance improvement. In simulation results, the packet error rate (PER) performance of the proposed ODPM is compared with that of conventional CE methods and its superiority is demonstrated.

차량 통신 기술을 위한 WME 모듈과 MLME 모듈 간의 상호 메시지 처리과정 설계 및 구현 (The Design and Implementation of the Mutual Message Processing between WME Module and MLME Module for Vehicle Communication Technology)

  • WAVE(Wireless Access for Vehicular Environment) System is a communication technology to monitor system failure and vehicle functions and management services to prevent possible incidents of driving a vehicle. In this paper, we have designed and implemented the mutual message processing through parameter between WME management module that manages WAVE system and MLME that manages the upper layer MAC(Media Access Control) module. Also, in order to verify the validity, we have carried out experiments to compare the speed of data processing by dividing data of 1Mbyte, 2Mbyte, 3Mbyte into the packets of 2KByte and 4KByte. Experiments data processing speed of 2KByte packet were shown about 173.62ms in 1MByte, 2MByte about 352.61ms, 3MByte about 550.13ms and, data processing speed of 4KByte packet, 1MByte approximately 87.56ms, 2MByte about 177.94ms, 3MByte about 277.18ms. Therefore, in WAVE system, the mutual messages processing through the parameters between WME and MLME module can be utilized in the various service of ITS(Intelligent Transportation Systems) depending on the speed of data processing.

Identification of Unmet Healthcare Needs: A National Survey in Thailand

  • Objectives: This study examined demographic factors hampering access to healthcare at hospitals and suggests policy approaches to improve healthcare management in Thailand. Methods: The data for the study were drawn from a health and welfare survey conducted by the National Statistical Office of Thailand in 2017. The population-based health and welfare survey was systematically carried out by skilled interviewers, who polled 21 519 384 individuals. The independent variables related to demographic data (age, sex, religion, marital status, education, occupation, and area of residence), chronic diseases, and health insurance coverage. The dependent variable was the degree of access to healthcare. Multiple logistic regression analysis was subsequently performed on the variables found to be significant in the univariate analysis. Results: Only 2.5% of the population did not visit a hospital when necessary for outpatient-department treatment, hospitalization, or the provision of oral care. The primary reasons people gave for not availing themselves of the services offered by government hospitals when they were ill were-in descending order of frequency-insufficient time to seek care, long hospital queues, travel inconvenience, a lack of hospital beds, unavailability of a dentist, not having someone to accompany them, and being unable to pay for the transportation costs. Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that failure to access the health services provided at hospitals was associated with demographic, educational, occupational, health welfare, and geographic factors. Conclusions: Accessibility depends not only on health and welfare benefit coverage, but also on socioeconomic factors and the degree of convenience associated with visiting a hospital.

접근성에 따른 운송수단 선택행동에 관한 분석 : 충남-위해구간을 중심으로 (Analysis of Transportation Mode Choice Behavior Based on Accessibility : Focused on Chungnam-Weihai route)

  • 항공 및 해상교통수단의 발전과 소득 및 여가시간의 증대로 해외로 출국하는 여행객의 수는 매년 증가하고 있는 실정이다. 하지만 충청남도는 한국에서 유일하게 공항이 없는 지역으로 충남도민들은 해외 여행 시 인천 등 타 지역을 통해 여행을 하여야 하는 불편함을 겪고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 충남도민들의 접근교통에 따른 운송수단 선택행동에 관하여 분석하였다. 이를 위하여 Stated-preference(SP) data를 활용하여 Multinominal Logit Model(MNL)을 이용하였다. 충남도민들이 해외여행 시 운송수단 선택의 경우 거주지에 따라 다른 특성을 보이는 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 거주지-공항/항만까지 접근성이 공항/항만-목적지까지 운송보다 교통수단 선택행동에 더 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석됐다. 특히 접근소요시간 및 접근교통 운영 빈도요인이 가장 큰 영향을 미치고 있는 반면 운송시간이 상대적으로 적은 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 운송수단의 선택은 여객터미널 선정에도 영향을 미치는 것으로 여객터미널 운영사는 접근성을 중요하게 고려하여야 한다. 접근교통수단의 개선은 인천공항을 이용하여 중국으로 출국하는 이용객 중 일부 여객 수요가 전환될 수 있다는 결론이 도출되었다.

블록체인 기반의 사용자 중심 역할기반 접근제어 기법 연구 (A Blockchain-based User-centric Role Based Access Control Mechanism)

  • 정보 기술의 발달로 시스템의 규모는 대형화되고 역할의 종류도 다양해져서 기존의 역할기반 접근제어로는 확장성, 호환성, 복잡성 등의 한계에 부딪히게 되었다. 블록체인 기술은 기존 보안 취약점에 새로운 해법을 제시하며 다양한 분야에서 활용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 저장소의 접근 빈도와 저장 용량에 따라 요구되는 가스 및 처리 시간이 달라지는 블록체인 환경에서 효율적인 역할기반접근제어를 제안하였다. 제안하는 방식은 재사용 가능한 단위의 역할을 재정의하고, 동적인 상태를 효율적으로 반영할 수 있는 계층적 구조를 도입하여 복잡성을 해결하고 효율성 및 확장성을 강화하였고, 암호화폐 연동이 가능할 수 있도록 사용자 중심의 인증기능을 포함하였다. 제안하는 모델은 마르코프체인을 이용하여 이론적으로 먼저 검증하고, 이더리움 프라이빗 네트워크에서 구현하여 대표함수에 대한 비교 실험을 실행하여 사용자 추가 및 트랜잭션 등록 시에 요구되는 시간과 가스 효율성에 대하여 검증하였다. 향후 이를 기반으로 예외 상황 등을 고려한 구조 확장 및 실험 등이 요구된다.
