Case Study of Usability Evaluation and Improvement Plan for Open Access Academic Publishing Support Interface (오픈액세스 학술출판 지원 인터페이스 사용성 평가 및 개선안 사례 연구)

  • The goal of this study is to find ways to improve the open access publication support service platform through the usability evaluation of the publishing manager interface among the AccessON journal repository interfaces, which is an open access publication support service platform. Various documents and cases related to open access publishing and usability evaluation in order to answer three research questions: collection of user experience responses of interface, extraction of issues and improvement points, and analysis and derivation of suggestions for other open access publication support service platforms. Responses to the experience of using the publishing manager interface were collected through surveys and focus group interviews. Combining this, it was possible to present the results of the usability evaluation of the AccessON journal repository interface through various numerical information. The results of the usability evaluation made it possible to propose issues and improvements to the AccessON journal repository manager interface, and finally, it was possible to derive suggestions for the open access academic publishing support service platform to be developed later.

  • Network access control should be able to effectively block security threats to the IT infrastructure, such as unauthorized access of unauthorized users and terminals, and illegal access of employees to internal servers. From this perspective, it is necessary to build metrics based on relevant standards to ensure that security is being met. Therefore, it is necessary to organize the method for security evaluation of NAC according to the related standards. Therefore, this study builds a model that combines the security evaluation part of ISO / IEC 15408 (CC: Common Criteria) and ISO 25000 series to develop security metric of network access control system. For this purpose, we analyzed the quality requirements of the network access control system and developed the convergence evaluation metric for security of the two international standards. It can be applied to standardization of evaluation method for network access control system in the future by constructing evaluation model of security quality level of network access control system.

Treatment Information based Risk Evaluation Method in Medical Information Systems (의료정보시스템에서 치료정보 기반 위험도 평가 방법론)

  • RBAC(Role-Based Access Control), which is widely used in Medical Information Systems, is vulnerable to illegal access through abuse/misuse of permissions. In order to solve this problem, treatment based risk assessment of access requests is necessary. In this paper, we propose a risk evaluation method based on treatment information. We use network analysis to determine the correlation between treatment information and access objects. Risk evaluation can detect access that is unrelated to the treatment. It also provides indicators for information disclosure threats of insiders. We verify the validity using large amounts of data in real medical information systems.

  • A condition access system (CAS) refers to a hardware-based system that allows only authenticated users to have access to contents. The CAS has many disadvantages found in that in the replacement of multiple service operator (MSO) a set-top box should be also changed and the smart-card often causes malfunction. To deal with the problems, exchangeable CAS (XCAS) was developed in 2009. However the standards or evaluation schemes for XCAS are absent. Existing evaluation schemes are not appropriate for evaluating XCAS due to the evaluation standard, the evaluation cost and efficiencies. Therefore, a specific scheme that can evaluate the security and suitability of exchangeable conditional access systems has been requested. In this paper, we propose an appropriate evaluation scheme for XCAS. The evaluation scheme includes an evaluation purpose and four components to evaluate the evaluation target, the evaluation process, the evaluation subject, and the evaluation cost involved.

  • This paper proposes a pipelined memory access method as a new technique for a bus interface between processors and memories in tightly coupled multiprocessor systems. Since the shared bus is bottle neck of the system, model of pipelined access to memory has been developed. Results of the evaluation by the discrete time Markov model showed a significant improvement of the efficiency.

  • In the IS-95 packet service system, the radio channels are generally classified into the dedicated and common traffic channels. In this paper, the performance of the common traffic channel access method is evaluated using simulation. The simulation results are compared with those of random access method. Simulation results show that the capacity can be increased up to 25% by applying the proposed common channel access method. The delay problem and variance of BER are also discussed.

Reliability and Validity of the CAP for Computer Access Assessment of Persons with Physical Disabilities

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a computer access assessment tool for persons with physical disabilities and to evaluate reliability and validity. Methods: We developed a computerized Computer access Assessment Program (CAP) through many kinds of literature review and tools analysis for evaluation of computer access, task analysis of fundamental input devices operation and expert review. The CAP data were obtained from 105 normal university students and 16 students with physical disabilities. The test items of CAP are composed of four timed mouse tasks, four timed keyboard tasks, and a timed scanning task. Thus, the software measures user performance in skills needed for computer interaction, such as keyboard and pointer use, navigating through menus, and scanning. To determine the validity of these measurements, we compared data on CAP reports to a Compass report. Compass software allows an evaluator for assessment of an individual's computer input skills. Results: Results of this study showed that the CAP had high internal consistency, reliability of test-retest, concurrent validity, and convergent validity. Conclusion: Therefore, the CAP is appropriate for evaluation and determination of computer access skill of persons with physical disabilities. It is possible to get clear quantitative data on performance when providing computer access services if you can use the CAP data. Using this quantitative evidence, insights can be gained into the specific nature of any difficulties experienced by persons with physical disabilities and find wise solutions.

  • In this paper, the complexity of the product is evaluated quantitatively regarding to access of assembly tools and handling of part. To evaluate the complexity of the product, we grasped factors that could influence on the complexity of the product with access and handling, and then we determined the criteria of comparison for each complexity factor. The criteria compare the complexities of product alternatives on each access and handling.

Evaluation of Access Control Function of the Standard Records Management System (표준기록관리시스템 기능 평가 접근관리 기능을 중심으로)

  • The physical access or control of records with material entities is relatively easy. However, in the case of electronic records, due to its heightened applicative aspect that allows anyone with the authority to have access over the data, it requires an appropriate standard and stability to ensure the authenticity and integrity of electronic records. This study performed functional evaluation by extracting the minimum critical items from the national functional requirements documents and standards to explore the access control function that play an important role for the standard records management system to maintain quality requirements of electronic records. Based on this checklist, it evaluates whether the standard records management system properly carries out the access control function and investigates the current condition of application to practical records management work. Records managers generally do not use access control function, which may be because they do not feel the necessity, since the application of records management system is not yet actively promoted. In order for the standard records management system to be developed to become a more active system, it requires system improvement as well as considerations for below factors: First, although the necessity of establishing access control conditions is already recognized, it requires a clear stipulation of the regulation. Second, measures must be taken to implement access control in the records management system through document security solution. Third, it requires self-reflection of records manager, who utilizes the records management system. Instead of placing all responsibility on the National Archives, which established the system, professionals must further develop the system through continuous evaluation and improvement. Finally, a general discussion is required to publicize the issue of functional improvement of records management system. Although there is a bulletin board already created for this purpose, its users are extremely limited and it only deals with current problems. A space in online as well as in offline is required to solve the fundamental problems and exchange opinions.

Evaluation of Service Quality Factors on the Nailcare Shop (네일 샵의 서비스 품질 요인에 대한 평가)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in the service quality evaluation on the skill and expert, the shop facilities and atmosphere, the time and access, and the price and benefit of a nail care shop by age, income, spendings of appearance and a nail care, and a regular nail care. The survey was performed with questionnaires and the subjects were was 240 consumers who used the nail care. The data were analyzed by frequencies, F-test, T-test, Factor Analysis, one way ANOVA. The results of the study were as follows: Service quality evaluation were classified four factors- the price and benefits, the skill and expertness, the facilities and atmosphere, the time and access. There were no statistically significant differences in the price and benefits by age, income, spendings of appearance and a nail care, and a regular nail care, but there were statistically significant differences in the skill and expertness, the facilities and atmosphere, and the time and access. The service quality on the time and access was evaluated as high by the consumer in the 30s, with more income, and with high appearance and nail care spendings. The service quality on the shop facilities and atmosphere was evaluated as high by the consumers with high nail care spending. The consumers with a regular nail care evaluated the service quality on the skill and expertness, the time and access, the shop facilities and atmosphere as high.
