  • Recently there has been a marked increase in concern for security in computerized operations. The purposes of computer security controls are to protect against the unauthorized access to and modification of data processing resources, unauthorised access to and modification of data files and software, and the misuse of authorized activities. The controls relate to the physical security of the data processing department and of the areas within the data processing department : to the security of the data files, programs, and system software : and to the human interaction with the data files, programs, and system software. The controls that will be discussed in this paper include : I. Risk on the computer use. II. Methods of risk counter measure. III. Role of system auditing.

  • As Open Data has been emphasized globally, discussions on data policies have occurred for minimizing problems resulting from data sharing and reuse. This study aimed at investigating policy components for controlling access and use of data and examining similarities and differences of the policy components across disciplines. For the purpose, the study analyzed policy components for data access and use controls provided by 37 research data repositories overseas. These included twenty repositories in biological and health science, ten in chemistry, earth and environmental science and physics, as well as seven in social science and general science. The analysis showed that common policy components involve copyright/licenses, data citation, disclaimers and embargoes. However, there were differences in diversity of policy components among the disciplines and it indicated that the rationales of access and use controls emphasized would be different in the disciplines.

  • This paper presents a terminal-assisted frame-based packet reservation multiple access (TAF-PRMA) protocol, which optimizes random access control between heterogeneous traffic aiming at more efficient voice/data integrated services in dynamic reservation TDMA-based broadband access networks. In order to achieve a differentiated quality-of-service (QoS) guarantee for individual service plus maximal system resource utilization, TAF-PRMA independently controls the random access parameters such as the lengths of the access regions dedicated to respective service traffic and the corresponding permission probabilities, on a frame-by-frame basis. In addition, we have adopted a terminal-assisted random access mechanism where the voice terminal readjusts a global permission probability from the central controller in order to handle the 'fair access' issue resulting from distributed queuing problems inherent in the access network. Our extensive simulation results indicate that TAF-PRMA achieves significant improvements in terms of voice capacity, delay, and fairness over most of the existing medium access control (MAC) schemes for integrated services.

  • We propose two phase filtering scheme to develop an efficient mechanism for XML databases to control query-based access. An access control environment for XML documents and some techniques to deal with fine-grained authorization priorities and conflict resolution issues are proposed. Despite this, relatively little work has been done to enforce access controls particularly for XML databases in the case of query-based access. The basic idea utilized is that a user query interaction with only necessary access control rules is modified to an alternative form through a query optimization technique, which is guaranteed to have no access violations using tree-aware metadata of XML schemas. The scheme can be applied to any XML database management system and has several advantages such as small execution time overhead, fine-grained controls, and safe and correct query modification. The experimental results clearly demonstrate the efficiency of the approach.

  • Access Control is one of essential branches to provide system's security. Depending on what standards we apply, in general, there are Role-based access control, History-based access control. The first is based on subject's role, The later is based on subject's history. In fact, RBAC has been implemented, we are using it by purchasing some orders through the internet. But, HBAC is so complex that there will occur some errors on the system. This is more and more when HBAC is used with other access controls. So HBAC's formalization and model which are general enough to encompass a range of policies in using more than one access control model within a given system are important. To simplify these, we design the mathematical model called non-access structure. This Non-access structure contains to historical access list. If it is given subjects and objects, we look into subject grouping and object relation, and then we design Non-access structure. Then we can determine the permission based on history without conflict.

  • We designed a role-based access control model that can resolve the complicated tasks of control requirements. The designed access control model can control permissions efficiently use of a role-based access control. It guarantees the confidentiality integrity and availa information making use of identity-based and rule-based access controls. It can also centre information flow. Our access control model protects resources from unauthorized accesses b multi-level security policies such as role, security level, integrity level and ownership.

  • Financial information systems in financial institutions are characterized in providing financial services concatenated with various types of customer information. The leakage of those information could lead to pecuniary loss and non-pecuniary loss such as psychological pains suffered, etc. in terms of customer damages. Therefore, it is imperative for the operational authentication to be confirmed previously in their access to the financial systems and in work operations. The aim of this study is to analyze the methods of authentication and access controls for appropriate system operators.

  • The access controls are the methods which are generally used in such systems as computer operating systems, workflow systems, information security systems and etc.. In the paper, is proposed a role-based access control model which not only has fundamental security functions such as security, integrity and flow control, but also meets the access control requirements of role-based social organizations. The proposed role-based access control model is designed in order to perform its functions in simple and secure way, largely in the environment of web-based applications.

  • Cloud computing is cost-effective in terms of system configuration and maintenance and does not require special IT skills for management. Also, cloud computing provides an access control setting where SSO is adopted to secure user convenience and availability. As the SSO user authentication structure of cloud computing is exposed to quite a few external security threats in wire/wireless network integrated service environment, researchers explore technologies drawing on distributed SSO agents. Yet, although the cloud computing access control using the distributed SSO agents enhances security, it impacts on the availability of services. That is, if any single agent responsible for providing the authentication information fails to offer normal services, the cloud computing services become unavailable. To rectify the environment compromising the availability of cloud computing services, and to protect resources, the current paper proposes a security policy that controls the authority to access the resources for cloud computing services by applying the authentication policy of user authentication agents. The proposed system with its policy of the authority to access the resources ensures seamless and secure cloud computing services for users.

  • As companies use increasing amounts of data more and more, people are more concerned about protecting their privacy. Many researches studies have been conducted with a to securely view of manage managing and share sharing private information securely using the Bblockchain technology. These studies have suggested a Bblockchain-based approaches to provide efficiency, scalability, data ownership, and systematic data lifecycles that were are the limitations of lacking in traditional access controls. More Sspecifically, these studies have introduced a new access control models, distributed hash tables, trusted execution environments, and hierarchical ID-based cryptographic mechanisms to provide reliable access control even in complex environments such as IoT Internet of Things. In this paperstudy, we present the criteria to for classifying the functional characteristics of the Bblockchain-based access control methods and derive the differentiateion between of each the several methods.
