2차선 유입연결로의 서비스 수준별 가속차선 길이 산정 기준 (Guideline of Acceleration Length by Level of Service for Two Lane Entrance Ramp)

  • The objective of study is to examine relationship between traffic flow characteristics of two lane entrance terminal and acceleration length, and to suggest the acceleration length by level of service. The relationship between the speed ratio and the distance from the ramp appeared to be a quadratic concave from. In the case of two lane entrance ramp, the acceleration length is suggested as 1.4~2.0 times longer than the acceleration length of one lane entrance ramp. It is also recommended that acceleration length for two lane entrance ramp should be designed according to the level of service at the right most lane (level of service A : 1.4 B : 1.6 C : 1.8 D : 2.0 times of the one lane entrance ramp acceleration length) on freeway.

  • This paper investigates human discomfort response to the foot-to-head acceleration. During ambulance transport, a patient suffers from the foot-to-head acceleration, which might deteriorate his illness. To investigate the relationship between the ride discomfort and the foot-to-head acceleration, experiments were performed using a van type automobile similar to an ambulance. The experimental results show that head-ward acceleration is more uncomfortable than the foot-ward acceleration. For further investigation of the difference of ride discomfort caused by the direction of acceleration, two experiments were peformed using a tilt bed. In these experiments, foot-to-head acceleration is applied to the subjects by tilting the bed.   • This study investigated the acceleration characteristics of rock slopes when earthquakes, which have not been studied much in Korea, occur. The rock slope was modeled with a similar raw of 1/20 in consideration of the height(10m), roughness, strength, and the joint dips(20°). After the completion of the model, a shaking table tests was conducted according to the magnitude of the acceleration and the type of seismic wave. The maximum acceleration was greater in the short-period seismic wave than in the long-period seismic wave, and the maximum acceleration was larger in the small acceleration. The rock slope was close to a rigid block and a structure more vulnerable to the long period wave than to the short period wave. In the event of an earthquake smaller than the domestic earthquake-resistant maximum design acceleration(0.154g), safety management of the rock slope was required.

  • This paper investigates the effects of sports ground materials on the transfer characteristics of the landing impact force using a coupled foot-shoe-ground interaction model. The impact force resulting from the collision between the sports shoe and the ground is partially dissipated, but the remaining portion transfers to the human body via the lower extremity. However, since the landing impact force is strongly influenced by the sports ground material we consider four different sports grounds, asphalt, urethane, clay and wood. We use a fully coupled 3-D foot-shoe-ground interaction model and we construct the multi-layered composite ground models. Through the numerical simulation, the landing impact characteristics such as the ground reaction force (GRF), the acceleration transfer and the frequency response characteristics are investigated for four different sports grounds. It was found that the risk of injury, associated with the landing impact, was reduced as the ground material changes from asphalt to wood, from the fact that both the peak vertical acceleration and the central frequency monotonically decrease from asphalt to wood. As well, it was found that most of the impact acceleration and frequency was dissipated at the heel, then not much changed from the ankle to the knee.

램 가속기 탄체 형상에 따른 데토네이션파와 가속 특성에 관한 연구 (The Formation of Detonation Wave and Acceleration Characteristics with the Ram Accelerator Projectile Shapes)

  • 초폭굉 램 가속기의 탄체 형상은 탄체 주위에 형성되는 충격파의 구조 및 데토네이션파의 생성, 그리고 탄체의 가속 특성에 커다란 영향을 주게 된다. 본 연구에서는 초폭굉 모드의 기본 탄체 형상인 원추-원퉁-원추의 전.후면 반 꼭지각의 변화와 이중 원추, 그리고 Power-Law 형상 등의 탄체 전면 형상의 변화가 탄체 주위의 유동장, 데토네이션파의 형성 과정, 그리고 탄체 가속 특성에 미치는 영향을 수치적으로 해석하였으며, 이중 원추면의 높이와 각도를 변화시킴으로써 전.후면 반 꼭지각이 $10^{\cire}$인 ISL의 기본 형상에 비하여 약 31.0%의 향상된 가속 성능을 갖는 램 가속기 탄체 형상을 도출하였다. 이러한 탄체 가속 특성 연구 결과는 향후 램 가속기에 대한 설계 최적화 연구에 유용한 자료로 이용 될 것이다.

TRANSIENT PERFORMANCE OF AN SI ENGINE BY TRANSIENT RESPONSE SPECIFICATIONS

  • The analysis and evaluation of the transient performance by the transient response specifications under various acceleration speeds and types based on driver's typical acceleration habit are implemented by the experimental study to provide the appropriate direction for the transient control in a gasoline engine. The concept of the transient response specifications which consist of delay time, rising time, maximum overshoot and settling time, and the analysis method using them are introduced to evaluate the characteristics of the transient performance quantitatively. Furthermore four acceleration speeds and four acceleration types are set respectively to realize the various transient states which are similar to the real drive. Several performance parameters in terms of engine speed, manifold absolute pressure, fuel injection duration and air excess ratio are measured simultaneously during the various acceleration using a throttle actuator controlled by a PC. The transient response specifications characterized well the transient performance for the various acceleration speed and types quantitatively. Delay and rising time with increment of the acceleration speed became shorter, but settling time did longer. Intensified acceleration type appeared to be the most economical in view of fuel consumption, and linear acceleration type was found to have the least harmful emission concentration.

터보과급기 부착 디젤기관의 급가속 운전시 응답특성에 관한 연구 (A study on the response characteristics of a turbocharged diesel engine under operation conditions of rapid acceleration)

  • 본 연구는 터보 과급기 부착 디젤 기관의 급가속 운전시 기관과 과급기의 과도 응답 성능을 규명하고 이를 개선하기 위한 실험을 수행하였다. 과도 응답 성능 구명은 일정한 회전 속도로 정상 운전중인 기관의 연료 펌프 랙을 10%에서 40%까지 일정 시간동안 급가속하였을 경우에 대하여 수행하였으며, 이때의 과급기 응답 지연 현상을 개선하기 위한 실험은 급가속과 동시에 압축기 출구의 흡기메니폴드 내에 일정한 압력의 공기를 추가 분사하는 방법을 이용하였다. 그리고 공기 분사 압력, 공기분사 기간, 가속률, 가속 시간 등이 압축기 출구의 압력과 온도, 터빈 입구의 압력과 온도, 실린더 압력, 기관과 과급기 회전 속도 등의 응답 성능에 미치는 영향을 가속전 정상 상태의 기관 회전 속도와 적용부하의 변화에 따라 시간의 함수로 나타내었다.

전동차용 방진고무스프링 특성 및 사용수명 예측 (Characteristics and Useful Life Prediction of Rubber Spring for Railway Vehicle)

  • Rubber components are widely used in many application such as vibration isolators, damping, ride quality. Rubber spring is used in primary suspension system for railway vehicle. Characteristics and useful life prediction of rubber spring was very important in design procedure to assure the safety and reliability. Non-linear properties of rubber material which are described as strain energy function are important parameter to design and evaluate of rubber spring. These are determined by physical tests which are uniaxial tension, equi-biaxial tension and pure shear test. The computer simulation was executed to predict and evaluate the load capacity and stiffness for rubber spring. In order to investigate the useful life, the acceleration test were carried out. Acceleration test results changes as the threshold are used for assessment of the useful life and time to threshold value were plotted against reciprocal of absolute temperature to give the Arrhenius plot. By using the acceleration test, several useful life prediction for rubber spring were proposed.

  • The intermittent characteristics of fluid particle accelerations near the wall are investigated with the higher-order statistics and the probability density functions (PDF) by using a direct numerical simulation of turbulent channel flow. Also, the behaviors of acceleration associated with the coherent structures are discussed. The flatness factor of wall-normal acceleration is extremely high near the wall and it exceeds the previously reported value obtained in isotropic turbulence. The presence of the wall seems to make the accelerations more intermittent and the associated mechanism is explained with the PDFs. The skewness factor of wall-normal acceleration indicates that accelerations are associated with the streamwise vortices.

Velocity profile generation methods for industrial robots and CNC machine tools

  • We propose software algorithms which provide the characteristics of acceleration/deceleration essential to high dynamic performance at the transient state where industrial robots or CNC machine tools start and stop. The path error, which is one of the most significant factors in performance evaluation of industrial robots and CNC machine tools, is analyzed for linear, exponential, and parabolic acceleration/deceleration algorithms in case of circular interpolation. The analysis shows that the path error depends on the acceleration/deceleration routine and the servo control system. In experiments, the entire control algorithm including the proposed acceleration/deceleration algorithms is executed on the motion control system with a floating point digital signal processor(DSP) TMS320C30 as a CPU. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithms are very effective in controlling axes of motion of industrial robots or CNC machine tools with the desired characteristics.
