제사용수(製絲用水)에 대(對)한 몇가지 화학약제(化學藥劑)의 처리(處理)가 견층(繭層) Sericin의 용해성(溶解性)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Influences of Several Chemicals on the Solubility of Cocoon Sericin in Water)

  • 본(本) 시험(試驗)은 제사용수(製絲用水)에 대(對)한 몇가지 화학약제(化學藥劑)의 처리(處理)가 견층(繭層) sericin의 용해성(溶解性)에 미치는 영향(影響)을 조사(調査)하였던 바, 견층(繭層) sericin의 용해량(溶解量) 조절(調節)에 참고자료(參考資料)가 될 수 있는 다음과 같은 결과(結果)를 얻었다. 공시(供試) 약제(藥劑) 중(中)에서 견층(繭層) sericin의 용해촉진력(溶解促進力)이 가장 큰 약제(藥劑)는 Sodium Hydroxide(NaOH)였으며, Potassium Hydroxide(KOH) > Sodium Silicate($Na_2SiO_3$) > Sodium Bicarbonate($NaHCO_3$)의 순(順)으로 용해추진력(溶解促進力)이 작았다. 공시(供試) 약제(藥劑) 중(中)에서 견층(繭層) sericin의 용해억제력(溶解抑制力)이 가장 큰 약제(藥劑)는 Form Aldehyde(HGHO)였으며, Ammonium Alum($Al_2(SO_4)_2{\cdot}(NH_4)_2SO_4{\cdot}24H_2O$) > Acetic Acid($CH_3COOH$) > Hydrochloric Acid(HCl)의 순(順)으로 용해억제력(溶解抑制力)이 작았다. 공시(供試) 약제(藥劑) 중(中)에서 견층(繭層) sericin의 용해억제력(溶解抑制力)이 클 것으로 기대(期待)했던 Hydrochloric Acid(HCl)은 $80^{\circ}C$이상(以上)의 고온(高溫)에서는 오히려 견층(繭層) sericin의 용해(鎔解)를 크게 촉진(促進)함을 알 수 있었다.

  • 본(本) 실험(實驗)은 견층(繭層) seicin에 대(對)한 몇가지 화학약제(化學藥劑) 처리(處理)의 온도별(溫度別), 농도별(濃度別) seicin 용해성(溶解性)에 미치는 영향(影響)을 조사(調査)하였던 바 다음과 같은 결과(結果)를 얻었다. 1. 공시(供試) 해서촉진제중(解舒促進劑中) 견층(繭層) seicin의 용해촉진력(溶解促進力)이 가장 큰 약제(藥劑)는 sodium peroxide($Na_2O_2$)였으며, sodium carbonate($Na_2CO_3$), sodium sulfite($Na_2SO_3$) ammonia water($NH_4OH$)의 순(順)으로 용해촉진력(溶解促進力)이 작았다. 2. 공시(供試) 해서억제제중(解舒抑制劑中) 견층(繭層) sericin의 용해억제력(溶解抑制力)이 가장 큰 약제(藥劑)는 tannic acid($C_{14}H_{10}O_9$)였으며, stannic acid($S_n(OH)_4$), formic acid(HCOOH)< methyl alcohol($CH_3OH$)의 순(順)으로 용해억제력(溶解抑制力)이 작았다. 3. 공시(供試) 해서억제제중(解舒抑制劑中)에서 formic acid와 stannic acid는 $100^{\circ}C$의 고온(苦蘊)에서는 견층(繭層) sericin의 용해(溶解)를 크게 촉진(促進)하였다. 4. 공시(供試) 해서억제제중(解舒抑制劑中) methyl alcohol의 경우(境遇)는 저농도(低濃度)에서는 용해억제력(溶解抑制力)이 전혀 없었다.

  • In this paper, Hybrid Electric Vehicle is directly designed and manufactured for base study of HEV's system and Green Car. Foundation design consists of power train design and the frame design. The power train concept includes motor, engine, generator and battery. And the concept of the frame is the single-seat of this self-made HEV. A frame installed in hybrid system contains suspension, steering wheel, seat, accelerating pedal, brake pedal, clutch handle and various chassis parts with bearings. Electromagnetic clutch is equipped to transmit engine power to drive axle. The control algorism make using LabVIEW to control of an engine and a motor depending on drive condition. A parallel type hybrid system is manufactured to control operation of a motor and an engine depending on vehicle speed.

  • During an AC motor's start-up accelerating period, a large amount of current is required to reach to the rating speed. This is called in-rush current. This peak in-rush current can be more than about several times the operating or steady-state current in the full load rating of the motor. In-rush current is present in both and electronic ballasts. The main area of concern is the tripping of circuit breaker and fuses which can affect electrical system components From this, we can see that the electrical power controllers will be rather concerned, since they have to supply the actual current necessary to start the motor. This paper presents a new method to reducing in-rush current and energy saving of the single-phase induction motor used in air-conditioner. It can be obtained that proposed system is low cost and small size as compared with other controller. Experiments are focused on a capacitor starting single-phase induction motor. The optimal power saving and in-rush current limiting by phase angle control are verified by experimental results. Also, auxiliary winding was controlled by electronic starting switch.

Study on Performance Improvement of an Axial Flow Hydraulic Turbine with a Collection Device

  • The portable hydraulic turbine we previously developed for open channels comprises an axial flow runner with an appended collection device and a diffuser section. The output power of this hydraulic turbine was improved by catching and accelerating an open-channel water flow using the kinetic energy of the water. This study aimed to further improve the performance of the hydraulic turbine. Using numerical analysis, we examined the performances and flow fields of a single runner and a composite body consisting of the runner and collection device by varying the airfoil and number of blades. Consequently, the maximum values of input power coefficient of the Runner D composite body with two blades (which adopts the MEL031 airfoil and alters the blade angle) are equivalent to those of the composite body with two blades (MEL021 airfoil). We found that the Runner D composite body has the highest turbine efficiency and thus the largest power coefficient. Furthermore, the performance of the Runner D composite body calculated from the numerical analysis was verified experimentally in an open-channel water flow test.

  • The analog-based Ex-core Neutron Flux Monitoring System (ENFMS) in Korean Nuclear Power Plants (NPPs) has been performing its intended functions successfully for a long time. On the other hand, the primary concern with the extended use of analog systems is the aging effect, such as mechanical failures, environmental degradation, and obsolescence. The transition to a digital-based Man-Machine Interface Systems (MMIS) in Korea and other countries has been accelerating, but some systems are still analog-based IC systems, such as the ENFMS in APR1400 NPPs. Digitalized ENFMS can become a reality using computers and microprocessors owing to the progress in digital electronics and information technology. This paper presents the result of the first phase of the research on the digitalization of the ENFMS signal processing electronics for NPPs operated or produced in Korea. It has two main parts: (1) review engineering bases of ex-core neutron flux monitoring system, including nuclear engineering, instrumentation techniques, and analog and digital signal processing techniques, and (2) analysis of analog signal processing electronics of ENFMS for OPR1000 and APR1400 power plants. They are prerequisite to the second phase of the research which is the detailed implementation of the digitalization.

Strategy to coordinate actions through a plant parameter prediction model during startup operation of a nuclear power plant

  • The development of automation technology to reduce human error by minimizing human intervention is accelerating with artificial intelligence and big data processing technology, even in the nuclear field. Among nuclear power plant operation modes, the startup and shutdown operations are still performed manually and thus have the potential for human error. As part of the development of an autonomous operation system for startup operation, this paper proposes an action coordinating strategy to obtain the optimal actions. The lower level of the system consists of operating blocks that are created by analyzing the operation tasks to achieve local goals through soft actor-critic algorithms. However, when multiple agents try to perform conflicting actions, a method is needed to coordinate them, and for this, an action coordination strategy was developed in this work as the upper level of the system. Three quantification methods were compared and evaluated based on the future plant state predicted by plant parameter prediction models using long short-term memory networks. Results confirmed that the optimal action to satisfy the limiting conditions for operation can be selected by coordinating the action sets. It is expected that this methodology can be generalized through future research.

전력소비완화를 위한 전동열차 출발시간 조정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Revising Train Departure Time for Reducing Electric Power Consumption)

  • 본 연구는 전력소비완화를 위해 전동열차의 출발시간을 조정하는 문제를 다룬다. 전동열차의 운행은 역행, 타행 및 제동의 단계로 구성된다. 역행단계는 전동열차의 운행을 위해 많은 전력량이 필요로 하며, 타행단계는 그 전력을 바탕으로 전력 소비가 거의 없이 운행되는 단계이고, 마지막으로 제동단계는 정차를 위해 감속하는 단계로 전동열차의 관성력으로 인해 운동에너지가 전력으로 바뀌어 회생전력이 발생한다. 회생전력은 동일 전력계통의 운행구간에서 동 시간대에 역행운행 중인 전동열차의 동력자원으로 재사용 될 수 있어 소비전력량을 줄이는 것이 가능하다. 이를 위해 혼합정수계획모형을 제안하고 모형의 실효성을 검증하기 위해 수도권 도시철도 한 구간의 전력데이터를 사용하여 실험하였다.

Enhancing Effects of NaHSO3 on Corrosion of T91 Steel

  • In the paper, corrosion behavior of T91 steel in different concentrations of NaHSO3 solution was studied in combination with scanning electron microscope (SEM) and electrochemical measurements. The results showed that the steel exhibited active anodic dissolution characteristics in the solution, and NaHSO3 concentration affected both cathodic and anodic behaviors. The steel surface was covered by intact corrosion products in the solutions, but the compactness and mechanical properties of the corrosion products degraded with the increase of NaHSO3 concentration. In low-concentration NaHSO3 solution the steel tended to undergo uniform corrosion with slight corrosion pits, but its corrosion mode gradually transited to localized corrosion as the NaHSO3 concentration increased. The mechanical property degradation of the corrosion products caused by sulfur compounds and the pH decrease of the solution are the important factors to accelerating its corrosion process.

진공청소기용 단상 스위치드 리럭턴스 모터 (Single Phase Switched Reluctance Motor for Vacuum Cleaner)

  • Universal motors are mainly used for vacuum cleaner application. There are a lot of researches on SRM that applys home appliance throughout the world. The manufacturing cost of SRM drive makes it hard to expand its application to home appliance. This paper presents Single Phase SRM for the vacuum cleaner that has advantge in cost and performance over conventional universal motor. This paper proposes new power device driving scheme by using SRM switching characteristic. The driving scheme is very simple and inexpensive. Dwell Time Control method is used for the minimum switching loss of power device. The switching frequency of power device is less than 4.5kHz at 45,000rpm. By use of this scheme, power device based on very small switching losses can be used on SRM drive. Also, the biggest problem in single phase SRM is starting, this paper shows a new starting algorithm with two hall sensors, accelerating and running sensors, respectively. Finally, the proposed Single Phase SRM achieves higher efficiency and long life time compared to universal motor. Its life time is more than 1500 hours. Its life time is extended 4 times than that of conventional motor and its suction power is increased $20\%$ at the same volume of conventional universal motor.
