  • This article aims, by analyzing structurally the codification of dress sign in Korean society, the signifying system of the codes and their message communicated, to make clear a signifying structure that would be codified through the relationship between abstract concepts and real condition of dress. I used the semiotic theory of Ferdinand de Saussure′s conception on structuralismly the codification, cultural semiology of Roland Barthes and Myung-Sook Han′s formula of dress structure as tools analyse may objective of wedding dress of folks in Choson Dynasty, which has been successive our traditional Korean wedding dress. My results of the study are : The procedure of wedding ceremony in Choson Dynasty was presented in texts like Juga-garye, Sarye-peonram and Kukjo-orye, its dress system has been more emphasized on language, and aspect of social system, than parole, one of individual realization. In addition, the meanings of marrage such as "Oneness of bride and bridegroom", "Mixture of two sexes", "Blessing of good luck", were included in the signified like the style, pattern and color of the wedding dress, and specially, pattern and color, the articulated morphemes, was emphasized, When we combinated terms of dress in Choson Dynasty with syntagmatic, regarding their list as paradigmatic, it will signify a wedding dress, and according to combinating ways, it amy be divided as sign of dresses of bride and bridgeroom by sex or king, gentry and common people by class. • This paper analyses the geometric aspect of Sonia Delaunay′s works on the basis of design elements and principles. Geometric pattern is one of the distinct features of early 20th century avant-garde works. The significance of its pattern and colour comes from the fact that it has not only influenced the contemporary fine art but also offered the basic principle of modern costume design. In 1925 she was designing clothes which could be worn today without appearing old-fashioned. She foresaw the future trends in fashion and interior decoration. One might claim she belongs to the avant-garde even today and no less astonishing a phenomenon than she was in 1925. Sonia Delaunay′s art was one of the first expressions of abstract painting and her "simultaneous contrasts" are among the earliest example of the aesthetic. In Delaunay′s geometric abstraction it is found that the technique of "simultaneous contrasts" is exploited almost without exception. Colour as well as Collage was the favourite technique Delnaunay used in creating a distinct simultaneity. Many "inobjective" paintings as she herself called unite the rigour of simple geometric forms with an inner life and poetry which emanate from the richness of the colour, the musicality of the rhythm, the vibrant breadth of the execution.

  • The shape of floral pattern in the period of Rococo are a pots, a flower and ribbon style, a flower and a stripe style, a lace style and a scene style etc, and also in that time an apperance of softness of curved line, delicacy and smoth line, irregular and unrestraint line, motive of tiny and extra ordinarily, little bunch of flowers, and stripe style was a feature. The style of presentation were a presentation of fixed style such effect as lace, and a presentation of realistically style emphasized a massiveness and a cubic effect, and also used a natural color, and the presentation of abstract expressed like imagined anything and fancied. Weaving expressed delicate, brilliant, fantastic, and an atmosphere with elegant. embroidery was expressed in creation with emphasized in reality. Printing was fantastic with exotic in development of chintz due to effection of orient. The based on a salon civilization, the refind beauty of taste of royalty gave a refinded feeling with over affectionate in preference with a softness of curved line, and a motive of tiny and extra ordinarily. The classical beauty of elegant was realistic in being concentrated on building up blance and homony. The natural beauty of romantic was in being devoted the theme with soft and fantastic.

  • The purpose of this work is to develop a system fer rapid and automatic identification of persons, with high reliability and confidence levels. The iris of the eye is used as an optical fingerprint, having a highly detailed pattern that is unique for each individual and stable over many years. Image analysis algorithms find the iris in a image, and encode its texture into an iris code. Iris texture is extracted from the image at multiple scales of analysis by wavelet transformation. The features of many different parts of the iris are projected onto the space-frequency space. They are used to determine an abstract iris code which is similar to 2D barcode. Pattern recognition is achieved by using modified CPN.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate and compare the characteristics of the motifs on cultural goods in In-Sa-Dong Street, Seoul, with those in Art Street, City Hall, Kwang-ju. For this study, 607 cultural goods were collected from the two cities: 265 in Seoul and 342 in Kwang-ju. Total cultural goods were classified by accessories, decoration pieces, stationery and ceramics and were studied by repetition patterns, motifs types, representative techniques, and representative types. The results were as follows. First, for repetition patterns of motifs, there were 219 simple repetition patterns in Seoul, and 289 in Kwang-ju, and 46 compound repetition patterns in Seoul, and 53 in Kwang-ju. The ratio of simple repetition pattern was higher than that of compound repetition pattern in both cities. Second, for motif types, floral, animal, letter, and graphic motifs were used far more frequently than any other motif types. Third, for representative techniques, embroidery was far more frequently used than any other representative techniques. Metallic crafts, chil-bo and paper techniques were also favored. Fourth, for representative types, realistic types were more common than abstract types.

  • The analysis in this work is about costumes among the rhythmic gymnasts in competition, which is intended to develop designs about rhythmic gymnastics costume and provide the basic material from the results. In its research method and range, the general information on rhythmic gymnastics was reviewed in literature and the case analysis was followed about costumes of world high rankers in competition during 2012~2015 seasons. Research showed the following results. First, leotard took a shape of skirt-added one-piece type, where a combination with long tight sleeve, round neck line, and stand-up collar had a relatively higher percentage in design. With regard to a bottom line of skirt, an amorphous type was most common that highlights rhythmical beauty without any particular form. This design exposed shoulders and waists on both sides, expressing the feminine beauty. Second, in color used mainly, white appeared most frequently. In its combination, more than three were employed. Third, transparent mesh was applied as basic, where lace and chiffon were used. Abstract pattern took the highest portion in pattern. Particularly, crystal bead or gradation coloring was used to maximize the visually splendid image, giving an effect of optical illusion as if neckless clothing, choker, bracelet, or glove were worn. Fourth, it appeared that the costume for each event was changed in every season, when only music was substituted but the same earlier costume was put on for the different event.

  • Abstract This paper presents a personal identification method based on BMME and LDA for images acquired at anterior and posterior occlusion expression of teeth. The method consists of teeth region extraction, BMME, and pattern recognition forthe images acquired at the anterior and posterior occlusion state of teeth. Two occlusions can provide consistent teeth appearance in images and BMME can reduce matching error in pattern recognition. Using teeth images can be beneficial in recognition because teeth, rigid objects, cannot be deformed at the moment of image acquisition. In the experiments, the algorithm was successful in teeth recognition for personal identification for 20 people, which encouraged our method to be able to contribute to multi-modal authentication systems.

  • Simulation is the imitation of some real thing, state of affairs, or process. The act of simulating something generally entails identifying certain key characteristics or behaviors of a selected physical or abstract system. And a simulator is the software or hardware tool that performs simulation tasks. When developing a simulator, the non-functional requirements such as modifiability, interoperability, and extendability should be required. However, existing studies about the simulator development focus not on such non-functional requirements but on the methodologies to build the simulation model. In this paper, we suggest the new architectural pattern for the software based simulator in consideration of such non-functional requirements. In order to define the architectural pattern, we identify the essential elements of the simulators, define relationships between them, and design the architectural structure with the elements to accommodate such non-functional requirements. According to the proposed pattern we can solve the simulation problems to combine the various simulation model components. The pattern guarantees modifiability by reconstructing the simulation model, also guarantees interoperability and extendability by adding various interfaces to the simulation model and by keeping the consistent interfacing mechanism between the simulation model components. The suggested architectural pattern can be used as the reference architecture of the simulator systems that will be developed in future.
