We are presenting the efficient and robust simplified module based self-collision detection of humanoid robot simulator. For safe and reliable operations of humanoid robot, the self-collision detection is essential and extremely important. The main methods of self-collision detection are inverse X-Y-Z fixed angles and module distance filtering (MDF). According to experiments on the humanoid robot simulator with the self-collision detection, we could have a confidence about the efficiency of the self-collision.

school. This study was carried out by literature review. Values of woodworking in extrinsic viewpoint were justified as well-balanced development between left brain and right brain, effective improvement of creative problem solving skill, formation of affirmative attitude toward woodworking, and obtaining method to use tools and equipment effectively. Values of woodworking in intrinsic viewpoint were justified as students' instinct liking of woodworking, psychological stability, and implanting self-confidence in students. In addition to these, woodworking has more educational values. Such values should be justified in the following studies.

This paper is concerned with the development of a nonparametric procedure for the statistical inference about the nonlinear regression parameters. A confidence region and a hypothesis testing procedure based on a class of signed linear rank statistics are proposed and the asymptotic distributions of the test statistic both under the null hypothesis and under a sequence of local alternatives are investigated. Some desirable asymptotic properties including the asymptotic relative efficiency are discussed for various score functions.

Confidence intervals for survival function give useful information about the lifetime distribution. In this paper we develop Edgeworkth expansions as approximation to the true and bootstrap distributions of normalized nonparametric maximum likelihood estimator of survival function in the Koziol-Green model and then use these results to show that the bootstrap approximations have second order accuracy.

The screening test is increasingly being used for predicting future disease in the person screened and has raised concerns about reliability of the result of its procedure. We propose an improved estimator of the confidence interval for the positive predictive value(PPV) in screening test by simply taking inverse sinh transformation comparing to Gastwirth(1987) estimator and show its efficiency through the simulation study.

The history of Korea's overseas construction began in 1965, and the cumulative contract amount is about $180 billion over the last 40 years. During the period, Korea's overseas construction industry has played an important role for economic development. However, it seems that the industry is in a sea of trouble. Overseas construction orders have declined due to various reasons such as companies losing confidence, limited financing, lack of competitiveness, and so on. This paper addresses the brief history of Korea's overseas construction industry and the problems that the industry is facing. Then it suggests a few measures for the improvement of the industry.

The objectives of this study were to examine the propensity and to analyze some determinants of complaining behavior about the educational services of private institutes. The survey was conducted by means of self-administered questionnaire with 546 university students Living in Seoul and Cheongjoo. They had an experience of studying in the educational services of private institutes in recent two years. Major findings were as following: (1) The propensity of private complaining behavior about the educational services of private institutes averages 3.36 points out of 5. This score is beyond the middle slightly. Whereas the propensity of pubic complaining behavior is very low. (2) According to the discriminant analysis, tuition fee, information supplied for solving the dissatisfaction, and altitude about the complaining behavior are the determinants to distinguish between complaining/non complains behavior group of private complaining behavior. (3) Information supplied for solving the dissatisfaction, kindness of the stars, the establishment, the way of making tuition fees, the degree of awareness of cost, the attitude about complaining behavior, the confidence of success for complaining behavior are the determinants to distinguish between complaining/non complains behavior group of public complaining behavior.

This study is to enquire about ideals on combustion and to propose of teaching program using the history a science in '5. Combustion and Extinguishing' unit of elementary school science textbook in 6th grade. For this purpose, investigation questionnaires based on preceding research and science textbook are developed. The reliability of the questionnaires is .784, and the questionnaires are applied to 247 students in T elementary school in Busan. Through the results of the investigation, scientific conceptions existed in some parts. But some misconceptions still existed especially (question 1), substance's changes (question 7), formation process of product (question 13), combustibles among requirements of combustion. The patterns of the misconception are similar to historical misconceptions about combustion. Besides, the discoveries and inventions of combustion have some points about correcting misconceptions. Thus the five step teaching programs on combustion which were applied to history of the science are suggested. The confidence of the developed programs was verified as being 'excellent' by specialists. This program will be applied to think deeply about combustion in elementary school lesson and useful to introduce the history of science.

The characteristics of health behavior related pregnancy and childbirth have reflected on the cultural belief and value in the society. The efforts for women's health promotion through the current illumination of the traditional health care are the prompting assignment to be in nursing. The process of motherhood already progress before the motherhood actually. The functional state as the expectant mother can be the important predicting factor of the postpartum state, the quality of a married life. Motherhood was analyzed by Walker and Avant's method to clarify the concept 'to be a mother' using the various concepts like Koreans' Taekyo, transition to motherhood, maternal identity, maternal role attainment, maternal fetal attachment, and maternal fetal interaction. Upon the concept analysis, naturalness, responsibility, attachment, readiness, controllability were identified as the defining characteristics of motherhood. The antecedents of motherhood were consist of maternal affection, positive self esteem, pregnancy acceptance, fetus recognition and the consequences of motherhood were consist of positive maternal identity, maternal fetal attachment, confidence about the maternal role, the healthy mother and the healthy baby. The empirical referents of motherhood were consists of recognition of motherhood, expectation about motherhood, fetal recognition with ultrasonography and fetal movement, experience of unification between mother and fetus, expression of affection to the fetus, concern about fetal health, concern and practice about Taekyo, adaptation behavior about physical change and discomfort due to pregnancy. Therefore it is necessary to develop the instruction program of motherhood including the defining attributes identified in this study.

A total of 460 palaeomagnetic samples was collected from the Tertiary Chongja-Ulsan basins and surrounding area in the southeastern part of Korean peninsula. All samples were stepwise demagnetized by either alternating field or thermal method. It was found that most sample-sites have ChRM declination which has been rotated clockwise from the north-south reference direction of Tertiary East Asia, although other two extrusive sample-sites within the Chongja sedimentary basin show counterclockwise rotation of ChRM declination. Fold tests for the site-mean ChRMs of the latter two sites reveal insignificant result and negative result with 95% confidence level, respectively. The amount of the clockwise deflection of declination varies from about $20^{\circ}$ upto about $80^{\circ}$ according to the block to which each sample-site belongs. The amount of the counterclockwise deflection is about $20^{\circ}$. It is concluded that the clockwise ChRM rotation has been caused by dextral simple shearing accompanied by NNW-SSE spreading of the East Sea which has been active until about 16Ma, and that the counterclockwise rotation is a result of sinistral simple shearing associated with WNW-ESE contraction in the Korean Strait-SW Japan region at about 15 Ma.
