With the development of information and communication technology, interest in new educational approaches that can enhance the learning performance of learners with improved information literacy skills is increasing, and universities are actively promoting educational innovation to foster the talents required by society. In the field of fashion studies education, which is closely related to the fashion industry, there is a strong need to develop field-linked educational programs that reflect the trends in the industry and changes in the educational system. The purpose of this study was to introduce industry-coupled problem-based learning (IC-PBL) to the course "Understanding Fashion Consumption Trends" for non-fashion majors to reflect the current needs and strengthen the educational effectiveness of the learners through a survey. A seven-step curriculum (introduction to the class, practitioner's problem, learner's problem analysis, organizing concepts related to variables, information collection and scenario writing, presentation and scenario proposal, and evaluation) not only enhanced learners' understanding of fashion consumption trends and the fashion industry but also greatly amplified learners' satisfaction with the class. The results of the survey showed that the seven-step curriculum was effective in increasing learners' self-directed learning ability, problem-solving ability, and confidence in learning. Self-directed learning ability was stronger than other factors, consistent with the core principle of problem-based learning to empower learners to take the initiative and promote self-directed learning. Each factor analyzed was positively correlated.

This research addressed improvement directions and problems of regional science and technology(S&T) policies in Daegu and Gyungbuk regions in terms of 'Creative Economy' which was a new paradigm of Park Gunhye Government. Creative Economy stressed the construction of an ecosystem in regional research and development activities, and thus it was deeply associated with building a regional innovation system(RIS). There were several problems to strengthen RIS with regional S&T policies of the regions as follows: limits in meeting regional needs due to excessive attraction of central government's projects into regions; the high ratio of programs for future basic research potentials; the lack of programs assessing and coordinating the policies; and the lack of experiences and expenditure of research institutes and firm supporting organizations. Due to these problems, the role of the policies in building RIS did not seem to be effective. Therefore, the policies need to be improved through the following measures: the expansion of regional own policies focusing regional needs; the enhancement of policy coordination by shifting to systematic approach; the expansion of soft supporting programs for constructing innovation systems; and the enhancement of stability and ability of research institutes and firm supporting organizations.
Military experience has a great impact on a soldier ability to handle risks. Therefore, when those soldiers become managers, they may behave differently in making risky corporate decisions, especially in activities like the R&D investment. However, studies on how military experience affect R&D have been largely missing in the largest emerging economy, i.e. China, despite that the country hires a higher percentage of military managers than the US. In addition, it remains a question whether military managers affect the state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in China, as many of the corporate decisions are made by the government. This paper tries to address these questions. The imprinting theory and the upper echelon theory suggest that managers' personal experience can affect their behaviour, which in turn influences their corporate decisions. In this paper, we examine whether managers with military experience lead to higher R&D investment and whether such an effect exists in state-owned enterprises. Based on a sample of listed firms in China's A-share market over 2008-2017, we make two findings. First, companies with military managers have high R&D investment. By dividing managers' military positions into high and low rank, we find that companies tend to have higher (lower) R&D investment if their managers hold a high-rank (low-rank) position. Second, the effect of high-rank military managers on R&D investment is more pronounced if the manager is also the founder and the company is a non-state-owned enterprise. For low-ranking military managers, a stronger effect on R&D investment is also observed if they are also the founder, but whether their companies are state-owned or not has no impact on R&D investment. This study identifies managers' military experience as a contributing factors to corporate R&D investment in the largest emerging economy. This paper tests an implication of the imprinting theory and the upper echelon theory, i.e., managers' personal experience can affect their behaviour, which in turn influences their corporate decisions. Specifically, we focus on one aspect of personal experience - military experience - and look at whether it is beneficial to firms' technological innovation, therefore enriches the literature of managerial heterogeneity. Our findings on the influence of managers' military experience on firms' technological innovation can help us better understand the role of managers play in corporate decision making, and how managers' individual traits interact with the firm's characteristics.
This paper analyzed the qualitative evaluation indicators of the SYSTEM sector of the LINC program, which aimed at strengthening ability of regional universities through the activities of industry-academia cooperation (IAC). By using interview data and the program reports of universities, this research explored the problems of the indicators and suggested improvement measures which could lead to performance creativity. According to research results, in university system reform for activating IAC, some improvements are required as follows: limiting excessive expansion of IAC-friendly faculty evaluation; and evaluating soft aspects in the reform of academic affairs. In relation to strengthening of ability of the IAC organization, the indicators need to be amended as follows: enhancing the role of channel of IAC Foundation; strengthening the function of planning team of the IAC Foundation; and inducing development of own model of universities for IAC. As regards expansion of IAC infrastructure, it is necessary to enlarge the manpower who can develop programs of the support center in the foundation and to secure of operators for effective operation of joint-using equipments. Therefore, the indicators are required to be upgraded, considering these improvement direction.
China has become the group of two (G2) in almost fields including the scientific technology following the economic growth and joining the WTO in 2001. The main reason is that the government had strong intention for the industrialization of the scientific technology and connected the scientific technology and the economy. Typically, for analyzing the cause of the meteoric rise of China, the competitiveness of the scientific technology was analyzed by the entire score of the nation. However, in the case of China, there are differences in the pattern of the development between the eastern, central, and western province. Also, the industrialization and the competitiveness of the scientific technology are difference because each province established the decentralization of power. Therefore, it is more meaningful to analyze the main factors of Chinese economic growth on a province unit. In this study, therefore, we analyzed the competitive of R&D in China by 124 indexes in 31 areas. The data was analyzed by Partial least squares regression analysis. In conclusion, the scale of the area and the ability of R&D of the company are very important factors for total amount of production in the area. And the journals, patents, the transfer of technical know-how and the investment of R&D are main factors of the amount of export on the high-tech product. According to these results, the factors which make the difference in the industrialization and the competitiveness of the scientific technology in China were analyzed. Finally, it will be helpful to establish the policy for the development of the industrialization and the scientific technology in Korea.
Consumption has generally become more fragmented, hedonic and individual specific, satisfying not only functional but also emotional needs. In parallel, customer satisfaction is now thought to be both a cognitive and affective response, and the closely related concept of job satisfaction is commonly seen as an emotional reaction. The reasoning within quality management does, however, still lean heavily toward cognitive judgements (i.e. performance ratings), the emotional component clearly being under explored. Further, performance variables have shown not to be significant in predicting satisfaction for certain 'experience products', the effect fully mediated by emotions. As a consequence a cognitive judgement based quality concept has lost its ability to predict satisfaction, which clearly contradicts with the modem quality definition, stressing quality as the ability to satisfy the customer. Emotions have however entered the quality discourse and it has been proposed that having customers that are merely feeling satisfied will not suffice. Instead, there has been a plethora of executive exhortations in the trade press calling on business to 'delight the customer'. Strategies for doing so have however usually been imprecise and unclear, and the different drivers of delight and satisfaction are not well explored. This paper aims to complement the previous cognitive dominance by exploring the multiple emotional responses involved in customer satisfaction. A conclusion being that we currently are measuring something, in terms of satisfied, that is more or less independent of what we aim for, in terms of delight. It is also most likely that - depending on the situation, product, and person - other positive and negative emotions are more important outcomes of purchase and usage than merely satisfaction. It is questioned whether a single, summary response such as satisfaction is feasible or even desirable.
The purpose of this study is to construct the evaluation model for the major science research facilities and equipments to enhance the competitiveness of the science and technology and also to test the reliability and validity of the model. To achieve the purposes, this study theoretically reviews the concept of the major science research facilities and equipments and their characteristics. Through a review of literature, this study draws 11 criteria for evaluating the priorities of the major science research facilities and equipments. These criteria are categorized as two dimensions - 'science & technology' and 'national policy'. The dimension of science & technology includes scientific importance, technological readiness, utilization rate, common utilization rate, and ability of management and operation. The national policy dimension contains degree of correspondence with national science development, imperativeness of national policy, science and technical effectiveness, economic and industrial effectiveness, responsiveness of research demand, and equity among the related institutions. The competitiveness of the science and technology consists of these two dimensions. The evaluation model is established on the framework of criteria. The 18 major science research facilities and equipments are selected through a series of Delphi. The survey of experts (BT, ET, IT, NT and ST) is also implemented to evaluate the 18 major science research facilities and equipments by 11 criteria. The overall results indicate that the reliability and validity of the model are good. The reliability tests show that the five indicators of science & technology and the six indicators of national policy have high internal consistencies. The confirmatory factor analyses reveal that the two constructs - 'science & technology' and 'national policy' - have high convergent and discriminant validity. The correlational analyses also show that the criteria-related validity between them is high. Furthermore, the results of higher order factor analysis indicate that the fit indices of the model are high and suggest a good fit to the data. Based on these findings, the policy implications of the model are discussed.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of self-regulated learning ability for engineering students. Self-regulated learning theory has been studied as the theoretical background and assessment framework explaining life-long ability. A survey was conducted to engineering students from an engineering-centered university, located in Seoul. The research findings were as follows. First, each mean of cognitive regulation, motivation regulation, and behavior regulation was 3.041, 3.051, and 2.996 respectively, indicating that the scores were not high. Second, there was no significant difference in the mean score of self-regulated learning ability between female and male students. Third, students in ABEEK accredited program scored meaningfully higher than students in non-accredited program on only 3 sub-components of organization strategy, metacognition, and task value. Fourth, senior students scored meaningfully higher than 1st year students on only 3 sub-components of metacognition, intrinsic motivation, learning environment management. The results revealed that instructional interventions should be provided for engineering students to develop self-regulated learning ability.

While the goal of new IT adoption in small and medium sized firms is to choose an optimal system to fit with their own environments and conditions, that of IT post-adoption usage is to fully implement new IT and maximize their benefits from it. Therefore, the decision-making environments of new IT adoption is definitely different from those of post-adoption. Also, The direct experience of IT usage can provide some learning effect and the change of users' beliefs on new IT. From this point of view, this study attempts to figure out the differences of influencing factors on IOS usage intention between adopters and non-adopters. The results show that there are clear differences of influencing factors between two groups. Non-adopter group shows that perceived financial cost and ability of use have significant influences on IOS usage intention, while relative advantage and perceived risk in adopter group have statistically significant influences on post-adoption usage of IOS.
