  • This research intends to examine how 6th graders (age 12) generalize various increasing patterns. In this research, 6 problems corresponding to the ax, x+a, ax+c, ax2, and ax2+c patterns were given to 290 students. Students' generalization methods were analysed by the generalization level suggested by Radford(2006), such as arithmetic and algebraic (factual, contextual, and symbolic) generalization. As the results of the study, we identified that students revealed the most high performance in the ax pattern in the aspect of the algebraic generalization, and lower performance in the ax2, x+a, ax+c, ax2+c in order. Also we identified that students' generalization methods differed in the same increasing patterns. This imply that we need to provide students with the pattern generalization activities in various contexts.

  • The general properties(size, shape, fruit constituents) of ten different varieties of dried red pepper and the proximate chemical composition, carotenoids content and Hunter color values of their powders were examined in order to establish an objective instrumental method to evaluate the consumer acceptability of red pepper powder. The results of instrumentally measured color values were compared with the sensory acceptability data obtained from 100 housewives in Korea. Red carotenoid consisted of 68-85% of total carotenoids, while ${\beta}-carotene$ content showed close relationship with the sensory color preference. The values of Hunter color system, L,a,b and axL, showed significant relationships with the sensory color preference. Especially, axL value had close relationship with both color preference and pungency intensity of red pepper. Therefore, we suggest the consumer acceptability of red pepper powder can be determined instrumentally by axL value of colorimeter. Sensory acceptability=0.02001(axL)-12.5774

  • Control devices perform various works for us in many areas. The device is being utilized for precision movement of certain object. In as much as control devices are activated by means of motors, motor control is important.[1][2] Generally, servo motors capable of precision control are more frequently used than DC motors. Use of 3 motors allows 3- way movement. Medical controllers for surgical operation require high precision. [3][4][5][6] AX-12, a servo motor can realize various types of movement. AX-12 can be easily manufactured in the form of a robotic arm and has features that MCU and its peripheral circuits are simple. For precision movement, 3 motors can be controlled by use of a single joystick and 2 buttons, with movement angles being adjusted by having preset values in the program changed.[7][8] By virtue of this study, we have realized small precision robotic arm system utilizing single joystick and 2 buttons. This system can control the robotic arm in the direction desired by the user. The system has been designed such that a joystick controls 2 motors with the remaining motor being controlled by a button. Single MCU is tasked with both control and movement.[9] We have shown precision robotic arm system in the Figure contained in the conclusion part and made reference to results of analysis in there. It has also been demonstrated that the system can be utilized in the industry.[8]

  • IEEE 802.11ax is a protocol being developed for high-density Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN). Several algorithms have been proposed to improve the level of spatial reuse applied in IEEE 802.11ax. However, these algorithms are tentative and do not specify how to select the transmit power and carrier sense threshold in practice; It is unclear when and why the tuned parameters lead to better network performance. In this paper, we restricted the scale of transmit power tuning to prevent the case of backfire in which spatial reuse will result in transmission failure. If the restrictions cannot be satisfied, spatial reuse will be abandoned. This is why we named the proposed scheme as Arbitration based Spatial Reuse (ASR). We quantified the network performance after spatial reuse, and formulate a corresponding maximum problem whose solution is the optimal carrier sense threshold and transmit power. We verified our theoretical analysis by simulation and compared it with previous studies, and the results show that ASR improves the throughput up to 8.6% compared with 802.11ax. ASR can avoid failure of spatial reuse, while the spatial reuse failure rate of existing schemes can up to 36%. To use the ASR scheme in practice, we investigate the relation between the optimal carrier sense threshold and transmit power. Based on the relations got from ASR, the proposed Relation based Spatial Reuse (RSR) scheme can get a satisfactory performance by using only the interference perceived and the previously found relations.

  • This paper deals with Linear Programming by Signal Flow Graph technique which is different from that of Mason and Coates. The objective function is regarded as variable, and slack variable node, artificial variable node and objective function variable (constant) node are newly defined, which shows the process for optimization of solution very intuitively. Also methods for solving L.P. and examples with subject to Ax.leq.b, Ax=b and Ax.geq.b are presented.

  • The developed record of forest maschines and tools in West Germany, Austria and Swiss, their technical characteristics and the working methods with them have been tried to investigate through the study of literature and observation. The aim of this investigation is to find out and introduce the technical information for training our forest men with them and for improving or developing our forest maschines and tools. Although ax chosen as first report for this aim is the oldest tool in the mankind history, still this is widely using in the forest work. And this has some special working filed that any other maschines could not overcome and sometimes should be recommended in the agronomical sideview. Through this investigation several points could be proposed as the technical informations when we will try to improve our ax 1. Radius of as-face curvature is proposed to be 150 mm and it's central point to be passed at one third point near to ax-eye. 2. Cutting angle is proposed to be $30^{\circ}$, ax-thick at 12 mm distance from ax-face to be 4 mm, thick at 30 mm distance from face to be 5 to 6 mm and ax-face width to be $125{\pm}5mm$. 3. Neck size is proposed to be $3.5{\pm}0.5{\times}5.5{\pm}0.5cm$ with a little curvature and neck thick from ax-house to be more than 1.5 cm. 4. Ax weight is proposed to be 1,000 gr with the stupid back and the sharp front. 5. The handle length of ax will be followed to the arm length of our forest workers.

  • It has been shown in compressive sensing that every s-sparse $x{\in}R^N$ can be recovered from the measurement vector y=Ax or the noisy vector y=Ax+e via ${\ell}_1$-minimization as soon as the 3s-restricted isometry constant of the sensing matrix A is smaller than 1/2 or smaller than $1/\sqrt{3}$ by applying the Iterative Hard Thresholding (IHT) algorithm. However, recovery can be guaranteed by practical algorithms for some certain assumptions of acquisition schemes. One of the key assumption is that the sensing matrix must satisfy the Restricted Isometry Property (RIP), which is often violated in the setting of many practical applications. In this paper, we studied a generalization of RIP, called Restricted Biorthogonality Property (RBOP) for anisotropic cases, and the new recovery algorithms called oblique pursuits. Then, we provide an analysis on the success of sparse recovery in terms of restricted biorthogonality constant for the IHT algorithms.

  • High molecular weight glutenin (HMW-Glu) subunit compositions of 73 Korean wheat cultivars and experimental lines were evaluated by using one dimensional sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. This method is suitable for obtaining a good resolution of 1Dx2 and 1Ax2$^*$ without adverse effects on separation of other HMW-Glu subunits. Korean wheats examined in this study could be divided into 15 different groups on the basis of HMW-Glu subunit compositions. From the wheat lines tested, it was identified that there were three alleles at the Glu-Al, five at the Glu-Bl and three at the Glu-D1 loci. The null allele of the Glu-Al was occurred in high frequency (79.4%), while low frequencies for 1Ax1 (12.3%) and 1Ax2$^*$(8.2%) were found. High frequency (75.3%) of the subunit pairs of 1Bx7+1By8 at the Glu-Bl loci compared with other subunits was found. The frequencies of subunits 1Dx2. 2+1Dy12 and 1Dx2+1Dy12 from the Glu-D1 loci were 54. 8% and 37.0%, respectively. However, a few Korean wheat lines (8.2%) carried 1Dx5 + 1Dy10 subunit pair which are responsible for good breadmaking quality. The information of HMW-Glu subunit compositions provide a useful tool to characterize wheat lines, and can be directly used in selection of breeding lines of different end-use properties.

  • Cornus walteri Wanger has been used in folk medicine in Korea. Ultraviolet (UV) irradiation has been known as a major cause of photo damage in skin. In the present study, research on how to cure damaged cells by UVB was conducted using an extract of Cornus walteri Wanger leaves (CWE), which was treated with an enzyme. CWE was applied to human dermal fibroblasts (HDFs) affected by UVB. UVB-irradiated HS68 cells showed increased caspase-3 activity, phosphorylation of p53, ${\gamma}H2AX$, cyclobutane pyrimidine dimers (CPDs) formation, and DNA fragmentation compared with non-irradiated cells. However, all these effects were inhibited by treatment with CWE for 12 h after UVB irradiation. Furthermore, CWE has proved not to cause primary skin irritation through the human patch test. Collectively, these results suggest that CWE could be a new potential candidate as photoprotective agent against UVB-induced cellular damage in HDFs.
