An analog AVR has an advantage of short time constant, time to revert again from the abnormal state to a stable one depending on the voltage fluctuations of the load. But the Analog AVR has a disadvantage of large voltage variation according to the load fluctuation. Voltage regulation for digital AVR is very stable, but the time constant is very long compared to that of an analog AVR. Therefore, it indicates that the digital AVR shows unstable output performance in a very large load variations. In this paper, a mixed form of an analog AVR and a digital AVR is proposed. An implemented hybrid AVR has fast time constant and stable voltage regulation capability. Hybrid AVR voltage variations in the load is stable within 1[%] and the voltage stability is also improved. It also showed fast time constant to the level of the analog AVR. Thus hybrid AVR developed in this paper can be used as a power supply for a variety of uses in industry.

In this paper, we implement remote training kit using camera, Arduino and AVR practice kit so that AVR practice kit can be practiced remotely. Implemented systems can be practiced by a large number of users one at a time from a remote location. The practitioner creates the AVR Studio program using the PC remote control method and downloads it to the AVR training kit. When a computer program is created and a mouse is clicked or dragged, the input signal is transmitted to the Arduino and the Arduino transmits the actual button input signal or the analog voltage to the AVR kit. When the AVR kit is activated by receiving the input signal, you can check the operation through the camera. Therefore, using the implemented system, a plurality of users can perform AVR training using one kit.
Plant-pathogenic bacteria including Xanthomonas spp. carry genetic diversity in composition of avirulence genes for interaction with their host plants. Previously, we reported genetic diversity of avirulence genes in X. axonopodis pv. glycines. In this study, we determined genetic diversity of five avirulence genes, avrBs1, avrBs2, avrBs3, avrBs4, and avrRxv, in three other Xanthomonas species isolated in Korea by genomic southern hybridization. Although Korean races of X. campestris pv. vesicatoria that were isolated from year 1995 to 2002 had the same avirulence gene patterns as those that already reported, there was race shift from race 3 to race 1 by acquisition of avrBs3 genes. X. campestris pv. campestris isolated from Chinese cabbage, but not from cabbage or radish, carried two avrBs3 genes, and one of them affected HR-eliciting ability of this bacterium in broccoli. X. oryzae pv. oryzae carried eight to thirteen avrBs3 gene homologs, and this bacterium showed dynamic changes of resistance patterns in rice probably by losing or obtaining avrBs3 genes. These results indicate that avrBs3 gene is more diverse in Xanthomonas spp. than other four avirulence genes and also host ranges of these bacteria can be easily changed by loss or acquisition of avrBs3 genes.

To get the constant output, synchronous generator field excitation is controlled by AVR(Automatic Voltage Regulator). Most of ships generator AVR uses the thyristor phase controlled rectifier. However this rectifier is difficult to realize that the fast control system because its control period is slower than MOSFET and IGBT type converter. Therefore, this paper deals with PMG(Permanent Magnet Generator) type digital AVR using MOSFET switch for ships synchronous generator. The composition of this digital AVR is very simple, the generator is under the short circuit accident, the output voltage becomes zero state and AVR can not operate. Thus generator is required to add CBC(Current Boosting Circuit) in an excitation circuit to flow output current. The performance of the proposed system is evaluated on a 10[kVA] experimental prototype circuit in place of real ships generator.

Pseudomonas cichorii secretes effectors that suppress defense mechanisms in host plants. However, the function of these effectors, including avirulence protein E1 (AvrE1), in the pathogenicity of P. cichorii, remains unexplored. In this study, to investigate the function of avrE1 in P. cichorii JBC1 (PcJBC1), we created an avrE1-deficient mutant (JBC1ΔavrE1) using CRISPR/Cas9. The disease severity caused by JBC1ΔavrE1 in tomato plants significantly decreased by reducing water soaking during early infection stage, as evidenced by the electrolyte leakage in infected leaves. The disease symptoms caused by JBC1ΔavrE1 in the cabbage midrib were light-brown spots compared to the dark-colored ones caused by PcJBC1, which indicates the role of AvrE1 in cell lysis. The avrE1-deficient mutant failed to elicit cell death in non-host tobacco plants. Disease severity and cell death caused by JBC1ΔavrE1 in host and non-host plants were restored through heterologous complementation with avrE1 from Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato DC3000 (PstDC3000). Overall, our results indicate that avrE1 contributes to cell death during early infection, which consequently increases disease development in host plants. The roles of PcJBC1 AvrE1 in host cells remain to be elucidated.
Background: This study aimed to compare preliminary data on the outcomes of sutureless aortic valve replacement (SU-AVR) with those of aortic valve replacement (AVR). Methods: We conducted a retrospective study of SU-AVR in moderate- to high-risk patients from 2013 to 2016. Matching was performed at a 1:1 ratio using the Society of Thoracic Surgeons predicted risk of mortality score with sex and age. The primary outcome was 30-day mortality. The secondary outcomes were operative outcomes and complications. Results: A total of 277 patients were studied. Ten patients (50% males; median age, 81.5 years) underwent SU-AVR. Postoperative echocardiography showed impressive outcomes in the SU-AVR group. The 30-day mortality was 10% in both groups. In our study, the patients in the SU-AVR group developed postoperative thrombocytopenia. Platelet counts decreased from $225{\times}10^3/{\mu}L$ preoperatively to 94.5, 54.5, and $50.1{\times}10^3/{\mu}L$ on postoperative days 1, 2, and 3, respectively, showing significant differences compared with the AVR group (p=0.04, p=0.16, and p=0.20, respectively). The median amount of platelet transfusion was higher in the AVR group (12.5 vs. 0 units, p=0.052). Conclusion: There was no difference in the 30-day mortality of moderate-to high-risk patients depending on whether they underwent SU-AVR or AVR. Although SU-AVR is associated with favorable cardiopulmonary bypass and cross-clamp times, it may be associated with postoperative thrombocytopenia.
The rice blast fungus, Magnaporthe oryzae, is one of the most economically important crop diseases. In addition, rice-M. oryzae interaction is a classical gene-for-gene host-pathogen system. Race variation in pathogen groups was proposed as the main mechanism for rapid break-down of resistance in newly introduced rice cultivars. These new pathogen race variations may be caused by changes in an avirulence gene, such as (i) point mutations, (ii) insertion of transposons, and (iii) frame shifts. The avirulence gene AVR-Pita1 is representative avirulence gene in which all of these mutations are reported. In this review, we present a useful information for avirulence gene AVR-Pita1 and its homologous genes AVR-Pita2 and AVR-Pita3. We also review examples that cause mutations in these evolutionarily significant genes.
AVR parameter tuning for voltage control of power system generators has generally been done with the open-circuit model of the synchronous generator. When the generator is connected on-line and operating at rated load conditions, the AVR operates in an entirely different environment from the open-circuit conditions. This paper describes a new method for AVR parameter tuning using optimization technique with on-line linearized system model. As this method considers not only the on-line models but also the off-line open-circuit models, AVR parameters tuned by this method can give the sufficiently stable performance at the open-circuit commissioning phase and give the desired performance at the operating conditions. Also this method estimates the optimum parameters for desired performance indices that are chosen for satisfying requirements in some practical applications, the performance of the AVR can satisfy the various requirements.

AVR parameter tuning for voltage control of generators has generally been done with the off-line open-circuit model of the synchronous generator. When the generator is connected on-line and operating with load the AVR operates in an entirely different environment from the open-circuit conditions. This paper describes a new method for AVR parameter tuning for on line conditions using SQP(Sequential Quadratic Programming) meshed with frequency response characteristics of linearized on-line system model. As the proposed method uses the un - line system model the tuned parameter sets show more optimal behavior in the on-line operating conditions. furthermore, as this method considers the performance indices that are needed for stable operation as constraints, AVR parameter sets that are tuned by this method could guarantee the stable performance, too.
