  • This system can detect a ground fault point or a bad insulated line by measuring a power plant DC feeder insulation resistance at the uninterruptible power status. And when the power plant DC feeder with low frequency AC signal has a ground fault, this measuring system can keep recording of its ground fault current and phase checked by Z.C.T. Therefore the power plant could protect a unexpected service interruption.

  • 태양전지의 전력향상을 위해 외부에 연결된 시스템적인 접근방법으로써 가변병렬공급기(DC1)와 가변직렬공급기(DC2)가 부착된 전자 전달 증대기(Electron Relay Enhancer: ERE)를 이용한 연구를 수행하였다. DC1의 전압이 태양전지 전압보다 높을 경우 DC1은 저항과 같은 역할을 하므로 태양전지의 전압이 상승하게 되고 반면 전류는 낮아지게 된다. 이 때 낮아진 전류는 DC2에서 보충해주어 태양전지의 출력이 증가하게 된다. DC ERE 직-병렬 시스템은 병렬전압의 1.5~2.0 V 증가로 태양전지의 전압을 2.0~3.0 V 높일 뿐 아니라 전력 증가율도 약 10% 정도 향상시켰다.

  • Current transformers(CTs) whose rating is selected per a full load current of a feeder in high voltage system can be easily saturated due to high fault current that may be several hundred times of the full load current of the feeder. However, the protective relay shall operate properly at the fault without mis-operation under the CT saturation. So, in selecting the CT rating, it is necessary to consider the behaviour of CT and a performance of protection scheme in condition where CT can be saturated. In this paper, a performance of CT and a degree of saturation are studied and verified whether its ratings are proper for the operation of the protective relay.

  • KODAS is made up of the Central Control System(CCS) as four Vax workstations linked up with LAN networks, six Substation Communication Control Units(SCCU) installed in substation to transfer data, 125 Feeder Remote Units(FRU) located at the lower position of automated switch to provide the information of Fault Indicator(FI) and three kinds of automated switches to have remote control functions such as SF6 gas feeder automation switch, recloser and gas insulated pad mountes switchgear for under ground line. This paper explains the functions and characteristics in detail about each devices mentioned above.

교류 전기철도 전력계통의 고조파 예측량 계산 (Estimation of Harmonics on Power System of AC Electric Railway)

  • We estimated harmonics on power system of AC railway based on quantitatively measured harmonics and investigated the need of facilities for harmonics reduction. In order to analysis harmonics which inflow into power system due to increase in collector voltages and harmonic currents generated from the train when the railway is in operation, the railway system Is sectioned into power supply, railway line, AT, sectioning Post and subsectioning post. For analysis of extension of currents resulting from the railway loads, PWM converter, VVVF inverter and the feeder system are modeled based on the dynamic node technique(DNT). In order to test the usefulness of the DNT for analysis of harmonic effects, the measured harmonic currents and harmonic magnification ratios at the S/K substation are compared with simulation results using DNT modelling, which include the results for two cases with and without filters for suppression of harmonic currents. When 8 cars(4M4T) are in operation, the total sum of harmonic currents resulting from the train at M and T phases, which inflow into the substation along with the railway line, is calculated. Using the harmonics analysis program for railway feeder system with these data, the total harmonic distortion factor(710) at the outgoing point of KEPCO substation is computed. The calculation shows that when the maximum THD at the receiving point of H/K substation was 0.0443% which is much lower than 1.5% which is the allowable value of KEPCO at 154kV as well as IEEE-519 above 132kV This result indicates that any measure for harmonics reduction in Incheon International Airport Railway is not needed.

  • Due to the tendency towards large capacity and complexity of power system, an enhancement of power system equipment make a system impedance to be low in power system. Generally if an equivalent impedance of system becomes lower, a system stability will be better. But the fault current becomes very larger. The 345kV ultra-high voltage system will use current limit reactors(CLR) in a transmission line or a bus in substation to limit the magnitude of fault current. The CLR makes a significant contribution to the severity of the transient recovery voltage(TRV) experienced by feeder and bus circuit breakers on clearing feeder faults. Based on the conclusions of an investigation of actual circuit breaker failures while performing this duty, the mitigation of the transient recovery voltage associated with the reactors is described. Therefore in this article we simulated the TRV by EMTP at Bus Terminal Fault.

HAPS와 NGSO 시스템간의 Feeder Link상의 간섭분석 (Analysis on the Interference Effects between HAPS and NGSO Systems in the Feeder Link)

  • 본 논문은 HAPS와 이동위성 시스템과의 간섭영향 분석으로서, HAPS 고도가 20km와 50km일 때의 C/I 값을 구해 간섭 보호비를 초과하는 시간율 및 초과지속시간에 대한 평가를 행하였다. 그 결과 HAPS가 Iridium 시스템에 미치는 간섭의 경우 최저 C/I 값은 HAPS 고도가 50km일 때 20.42dB, 20km일 때는 12.73dB로 낮아지고, 이와 반대인 Iridium 시스템이 HAPS에 미치는 간섭의 경우도 각각 13.94dB에서 10.42dB로 낮아짐을 알 수 있었다. HAPS 고도에 따른 간섭영향을 보면, 고도가 낮아질수록 강한 간섭을 주거나 받게 되며, C/I 최저값 또한 HAPS 고도에 따라 다른 시점에서 나타난다.

Experimental Investigation on Onset Criteria of Liquid/Gas Entrainment in the Header-Feeder System of CANDU

  • An experimental study has been performed to investigate the off-take phenomena at the header-feeder systems (horizontal header pipe with multiple feeder branch pipes) in a CANDU (CANadian Deuterium Uranium) reactor with the branch orientation varies ${\pm}36^{\circ}\;or\;{\pm}72^{\circ}$. In order to evaluate the applicability of the conventional correlations used in the safety analysis code, RELAP5-Mod3, the test facility is designed with the 1/2 scale of the. CANDU 6. It was found that the data set for the top, bottom and side branches are in a good agreement with the correlations used. However, for the specific angled branches, ${\pm}36^{\circ}\;and\;{\pm}72^{\circ}$, the onsets of off-take data and quality data showed large deviation with the conventional model inside RELAP5-MOD3. Furthermore, based on the uncertainty analysis, the conventional 2.5 power law needs to be modified. The present experimental data set can be useful for the construction of the general correlation considering the arbitrary branch orientation.

Density Composition and Feeding Guild of the Dominant Polychaetous Community in Shallow Muddy Bottom in Tomioka Bay, Amakusa, Japan

  • Polychaetous community survey in Tomioka Bay was carried out 5 times seasonally from May 1991 to March 1992 by quantitative grab sampling (0.05m2) at 11 stations. Based on the granulometric composition and environmental factors, a homogeneous soft bottom was found in St.5-10. The species of the polychaete were classified into three feeding groups using the Fauchald and Jumars' feeding guild system. According to polychaetous community composition data, deposit feeders predominate in sandy silt area where the silt-clay content is $60-69.3\%.$ These deposit feeders were subdivided into surface deposit feeders and subsurface deposit feeders by their living position and mode. Also, suspension feeding group comes as the third dominant group. Seasonal changes of each feeding group were described in terms of numerical density and biomass. Feeding layer and types of dominant species (Lumbrineris longifolia: surface deposit feeder; Praxillella pacifica: subsurface deposit feeder; Chone duneri; suspension filter feeder, etc.) were examined in the intact sediment core samples. Also, longterm density change among the three dominant species during 10 years was disussed.
