We, Human beings, use both powers of reason and emotion simultaneously, which surely help us to obtain flexible adaptability against the dynamic environment. We assert that this principle can be applied into the general system. That is, it would be possible to improve the adaptability by covering a digital oriented information processing system with an analog oriented emotion layer. In this paper. we proposed a vertical slicing model with an emotion layer in it. And we showed that the emotion-based control allows us to improve the adaptability of a system at least under some conditions.

Incheon, South Korea, is a rapidly growing port city that has long held an important role in the country. While for most of its history it has been considered more of a coastal extension of Seoul, it is now trying to grow from that role and become a global city. National and local initiatives and acts have led to the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ). This large zone connects three smaller districts into one large project. The goal of the project is to assert Incheon as its own city and go beyond its role as merely a gateway to Seoul. However, as most large-scale projects go, there are multiple issues and constraints faced by the IFEZ. This paper analyzes the project and gives critique on how the project could possibly achieve its goal more quickly.

A panel of chalcone-sulphonamide hybrids has been designed by tethering appropriate sulphonamide scaffold with substituted chalcones as a multi-target drug for anticancer screening. Chalcones were prepared by Claisen-Schmidt condensation reaction of a substituted aldehyde with para aminoacetophenone. All the synthesized compounds were evaluated against selected five cancer cell lines, MCF-7 (Breast cancer), DU-145 (Human prostate Carcinoma), HCT-15 (Colon cancer), NCIH-522 (stage 2, adenocarcinoma; non-small cell lung cancer) and HT-3 (Human cervical cancer). Most of the synthesized chalcone-sulphonamide hybrids showed amended cytotoxic activity against various cancer cell lines which may be attributed to the linkage of sulphonamide with chalcone skeleton. The synthesized compounds were characterized by FT-IR, $^1H$ NMR, $^{13}C$ NMR and HR-LCMS and spectral study assert the structures of synthesized sulphonamide-chalcone hybrids.

This article explores how women's voices are constructed in The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway and Nỗi buồn chiến tranh (The Sorrow of War) by Bảo Ninh. Specifically, this article approaches presentations of women's personalities and positions in the two novels that do not have obvious historical and geographical connections. The women's voices in the two novels, as this article suggests, are characterized by women's desire for self-determination, where they are able to free themselves from domination, and even influence men's psychology and actions. In comparing the characteristics of women's voices in the two works, the article aims to highlight different ways in which women assert their agency. The article affirms the potential contribution of cultural contexts in examining feminist voices and understanding how female figures are made to overcome default passivity and submission to male domination.

Emerging from Portuguese colonialism and Indonesian occupation to become one of the newest states, Timor-Leste is an interesting example of modern nation-building. Geographically, Timor-Leste is located in the area covered by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). In such context, Timor-Leste has a strong claim to belonging to Southeast Asia. Timor-Leste nevertheless has not yet been admitted formally as a member despite its application for membership in March 2011. This paper locates Timor-Leste in a broader context of their construction of regional identity and as part of Southeast Asia. Drawing upon the constructivist approach, this paper suggests that the complexity of Timor-Leste's regional affiliation with ASEAN is made more challenging with its quest to assert itself as a nation-in-the-making.

This paper is to scrutinize Jean Rhys' Wide Sargasso Sea through a Marxist criticism. While critics were industriously excavating discourses of feminism, post-colonialism, and racism in the novel, they tended to regard the Marxist attribute as supplementary material and to diminish the significance not considering as an independent subject to be examined. However, the novel, in which all the major relationships are based on capital, exemplifies class conflict between the bourgeois and the proletariat. Marx and Engels believe that the foundation of our society is capital and that society evolves through class conflict to obtain more capital, and thus they assert people's relations are the product of the commodification of individuals. Furthering their study, Louis Althusser specifies the power system through the (repressive) state apparatus and the ideological state apparatus. With the theories of the thinkers' above, this paper analyzes the relationship between Annette and Mason, Antoinette and her nameless husband, allegedly Rochester, Rochester and Amelie, and Rochester and Daniel Cosway. This paper offers an alternative reading of a classical feminist and post-colonial text.

Why do religions emphasize good deeds like charity or love? What kind of relation are there between good deeds and salvation? Early Buddhism stresses that the deed of mortal cannot escape retribution. And deeds are intentional act, so those are representation of mind. Therefore an issue of mind raises its head before action. The extinction of ignorance and thirsty gives rise to good mind, and the good mind produces good deed. Mahāyāna Buddhism accentuates charity. It signifies that the mind of oneself sympathizes the mind of others. That is impossible unless one throws away attachment to oneself. The alms deed makes that possible. In Roman Catholicism Ten Commandments assert absolute worship to god. The transcendental merits devaluate worldly ones, so the mind can obtain calmness. Protestant claims the one can acquire salvation only by faith. And the salvation leads human to good deed. In conclusion good deeds are not ways and means to mokṣa or grace, but identical with them in Early Buddhism and Mahāyāna Buddhism, and Roman Catholicism and Protestant.

This article utilizes interdisciplinary methods in order to critically review the existing research on the Mother Goddess of Champa: Po Inâ Nâgar. In the past, Po Inâ Nâgar has too often been portrayed as simply a "local adaptation of Uma, the wife of Śiva, who was abandoned by the Cham adapted by the Vietnamese in conjunction with their conquest of Champa." This reading of the Po Ina Nagar narrative can be derived from even the best scholarly works on the subject of the goddess, as well as a grand majority of the works produced during the period of French colonial scholarship. In this article, I argue that the adaption of the literary studies strategies of "close reading", "surface reading as materiality", and the "hermeneutics of suspicion", applied to Cham manuscripts and epigraphic evidence-in addition to mixed anthropological and historical methods-demonstrates that Po Inâ Nâgar is, rather, a Champa (or 'Cham') mother goddess, who has become known by many names, even as the Cham continue to re-assert that she is an indigenous Cham goddess in the context of a majority culture of Thành Mẫu worship.

Purpose To investigate the impact of Nosa Ki Jung-jin on the development of Sasang Constitutional Medicine by Dongmu Lee Je-ma. Objectives and Methods To establish the correlation between Nosa and Dongmu through an analysis of 『Nosajip(蘆沙集)』 and 『Nosaseonsaengyeonwonrok(盧沙先生淵源錄)』. Conclusion 1. While it is not definitive to assert that Lee Mupyeong, referenced in the 'SongLeemupyeongBukgwiseo(送李務平北歸序)' of 『Nosajip』, is Dongmu, there exists a strong probability that he is indeed Dongmu. 2. Dongmu Lee Je-ma's name does not appear among the disciples listed in 『Nosaseonsaengyeonwonrok』, and the 'SongLeemupyeongBukgwiseo' is only found in the third edition of 『Nosajip』. 3. It is challenging to attribute Dongmu's development of Sasang Constitutional Medicine solely to his exposure to Nosa's teachings during his youth.

To assert the superiority of Western Christianity emerging countries, the salvation of mankind and world peace mission with the historical non-democracy, human rights, women's rights, underdevelopment, nuclear issues, and the spirit of Christian civilization, considered to be linked and reverse, Democracy Launching and human rights issues are forcing Western development model. Islam believes in absolute monotheism that God Lord only determined by the 'slave' and having the determination to serve the religious, political, social and cultural nature ingrained, and closely adjacent to each other geographically, to focus on in quency characteristics higher than the other civilizations are appearing. To assert the doctrine of non-violent Islam 'Koran' and 'knife' became known as the violent images appear in the armed conflict between the culture method. Today the world is facing a clash of civilizations is derived from the religious conflicts and confrontation and friction between the nations appear. In particular, the deep religious roots of Christianity and Islam, the Arab-Israeli conflict, including the right to live in strife confrontation between Christianity and Islam was spread.
