The purpose of this study was to investigate corrosion characteristics of Ti-xTa alloys with Ta contents. Ti-xTa alloys used as samples (x=30, 40%) were arc-melted under argon atmosphere of 99.9% purity. Ti-xTa alloys were homogenized for 12hr at $1000^{\circ}C$ and then water quenched. The surface characteristics of Ti-xTa alloys were investigated using optical microscopy (OM) and X-ray diffractometer (XRD). The anodic corrosion behaviors of the specimens were examined through potentiodynamic, potentiostatic and galvanostatic test in 0.9 % NaCl solution at $36.5{\pm}1^{\circ}C$. After corrosion test, the surface characteristics of Ti-xTa alloys were investigated using OM. The microstructure of Ti-Ta alloy showed the beta structure with Ta content. The corrosion resistance of Ti alloy was improved by increasing Ta content and the corrosion morphology of Ti-Ta alloy showed that the site attacked by chloride ion decreased from the active to passive region with Ta content. Potential of Ti-40Ta alloy increased as time increased, whereas, current density of Ti-40Ta alloy decreased as time increased compared to Ti-30 alloy.
Objective: We have various ways in evaluating the level of low back pain as sequelae, general approaches such as neurologic examination, MRI, Radiologic examination and evaluating the effect of psychological stress on the low back pain. Besides We can find another approach to evaluating the sequale of low back pain in TA patients. So, I intend to analyze how much relationship the patients that got low back pain by TA have with Roland Morris Disability Scale(RMS) in 2 months after discharge. Methods: In this article, I will compare two results of TA inpatients and non-TA inpatients, which obtained with the RMS. This study was carried out about 22 TA patients and 18 non-TA patients, who had low back pain and were hospitalized between March 2002 and July 2002. Results & conclusions : 1. RMS point is related with the post-discharge term to a point of time of answering the questionnaire in both TA patients and non-TA patients. 2. In distribution of RMS point, Gr II take most possesion as 41% in TA patients while Gr I take most possesion as 56% in non-TA patients. 3. In distribution of RMS point, patients that correspond to more than Gr III take 27% in TA patients, 16% in non-TA patients. 4. TA patients show higher level of distribution than non-TA patients in RMS point in verifying them by mean value and T-test. 5. Degree of pain score change(${\Delta}$P.S), using mean value and T-test, showed lower level of distribution in TA patients than non-TA patients. 6. We can see that TA patients have more restriction in their life for low back pain.
In this research, magnetic properties and annealing effects of the spin valve structures were investigated, which have Ta underlayer deposited with Ar and $N_2$ gas mixture. Also, TaN underlayer as a diffusion barrier and the substrate were investigated. The structure of the spin valve was Si($SiO_2$)/Ta(TaN)/NiFe/CoFe/Cu/CoFe/FeMn/Ta. Deposition rate was decreased and resistivity and roughness of the TaN films were increased as the $N_2$ gas flow was increased. The XRD results after high temperature annealing showed that Silicides were created in Si/Ta layer, but not in Si/TaN layer. Magnetoresistance ratio (MR) and exchange coupling field ($H_{ex}$) were decreased when the $N_2$ gas flow was increased over 4.0 sccm. The MR of the spin valves with Ta and TaN films deposited with up to 4.0 sccm of $N_2$ gas flow was increased about $0.5\%$ until the annealing temperature of up to $200^{\circ}C$ and then, decreased. TaN film deposited with 8.0 sccm of $N_2$ gas flow showed twice the adhesion of the Ta film. The above results indicate that with 3.0 sccm of $N_2$ gas flow during the Ta underlayer deposition, the magnetic properties of the spin valves are maintained, while the underlayer may be used as a diffusion barrier and the adhesion between the Si substrate and the underlayer is increased.
This study presents a design of Teachable Agent(TA) and its theoretical background. TA is an intelligent agent to which students as tutors teach, pose questions, and provide feedbacks using a concept map. TA consists of four independent Modules, Teach Module, Q&A Module, Test Module, and Resource Module. In Teach Module, students teach TA by constructing concept map. In Q&A Module, both students and TA ask questions and answer questions each other through an interactive window. To assess TA's knowledge and provide feedback to students, Test Module consists of a set of predetermined questions which TA should pass. From Resource Module, students can search and look up important information to teach, ask questions, and provide feedbacks whenever they want. It is expected that TA should provide student tutors with an active role in learning and positive attitude toward the subject matter by enhancing their cognition as well as motivation.
Objective : Korean medicine treatment method is noted as alternative in treating traffic accidents(TA) victims recently. The main purpose of this research is to make a survey of the effective way of the Korean medicine treatment about TA victims. Methods : In following research, 389 cases of traffic victims who hospitalized in the Youngsaeng Korean Medicine Hospital & Youngsaeng Clinic from March 1, 2001 to November 30, 2001 were surveyed. The research is focused on finding out the distribution, such as sex and age, damaged part of the body of 389 TA victims, nature of damage of 389 TA victims, chief complaint of 389 TA victims, nature of damage by Korean medicine code classification, treatment given to 389 TA victims, Extract(Ex) medicine given to 389 TA victims, days in hospital of 389 TA victims. Results : The patients reached korean medicine hospital in fewer numbers from most of TA victims. As neck pain and L-spin sprain, most of symptoms was light and the treatment of medicine as well was limited for TA. The treatment method which was used for treating TA was acupuncture, cupping therapy, physical therapy, Ex medicine. Few ways could use the Ex medicine as well. Conclusions : The achieving rate of treatment was marked highly by using Haenggi(行氣) Hwalhyeol(活血) Guyea(祛瘀) and we confirmed a possibility for the treatment of TA in korean medicine treatment method. It needs to increase all kinds of treatment-ways which can treat successfully and needs to come into application of insurance. Korean medicine method will have possibility to take part in TA injury admission, by presenting basis to prove effectiveness of treatment-ways.

In odder to investigate the magnetic properties of CoCr-based bilayered thin films on kind of underlayer, we introduced amorphous Si layer to Co-Cr(-Ta) magnetic layer as underlayer. First, we prepared CoCr and CoCrTa single layer using the Facing Targets Sputtering system to investigate theirs properties. It was revealed that with increasing the film thickness of CoCr, CoCrTa single layer, crystalline orientation and perpendicular coercivity was improved. The CoCrTa thin film showed bettor crystalline and magnetic characteristics than CoCr thin film. As a result of investigating magnetic properties of CoCr and CoCrTa magnetic layer on introducing the Si underlayer, perpendicular coercivity and saturation magnetization of CoCr/Si and CoCrTa/Si bilayered thin film were decreased due to the increased grain size and diffusion of Si atoms to magnetic layer. And they showed constant with increasing the film thickness of Si thin film. However, in case of CoCrTa/Si bilayered thin film, in-plane coercivity was controlled low at about 250Oe. The c-axis orientations of CoCr/si and CoCrTa/Si bilayered thin film showed a good crystalline characteristics as about $2^{\circ}$.

Ta-N films were reactively sputter deposited by dc magnetron sputtering from a Ta target with a various Ar-N, gas ratio. Electrical resistivity of pure Ta film was 150$\mu$$\Omega$cm and decreased initially with nitrogen addition, and then increased to a value of 220$\mu$$\Omega$-cm~260$\mu$$\Omega$-cm at 9%~23% nitrogen partial flow. Rutherford backscattering spectrometry(RBS) and Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) analysis show that nitrogen content in the film is increased with the nitrogen partial flow. The film contains 58at.% nitrogen at 36% nitrogen partial flow. Both the phase and the microstructure of the as-deposisted films were investigated by x-ray diffractometry(XRD) adn transmission electron microscopy (TEM) at various nitrogen content. The phase of pure Ta film is identified as $\beta$-Ta with a 200$\AA$~300$\AA$ grain size. The phase of Ta film is changed to bcc-Ta as small amount of nitrogen is added. Crystalline Ta2N film was deposited at 24at.% nitrogen content. Amorphous phase is formed over a range of nitrogen content from about 33at.% to 35at.% while crystalline fcc-TaN is observed to form at 39at.%~48at.% nitrogen content.
Tantalum nitride (TaNx) thin films were grown utilizing an inductively coupled plasma (ICP) assisted direct current (DC) sputtering, and 20-100% improved microhardness values were obtained. The detailed microstructural changes of the TaNx films were characterized utilizing transmission electron microscopy (TEM), as a function of nitrogen gas fraction and ICP power. As nitrogen gas fraction increases from 0.05 to 0.15, the TaNx phase evolves from body-centered-cubic (b.c.c.) TaN0.1, to face-centered-cubic (f.c.c.) δ-TaN, to hexagonal-close-packing (h.c.p.) ε-TaN phase. By increasing ICP power from 100 W to 400 W, the f.c.c. δ- TaN phase becomes the main phase in all nitrogen fractions investigated. The higher ICP power enhances the mobility of Ta and N ions, which stabilizes the δ-TaN phase like a high-temperature regime and removes the micro-voids between the columnar grains in the TaNx film. The dense δ-TaN structure with reduced columnar grains and micro-voids increases the strength of the TaNx film.
Novel citric acid based Ti, Nb and Ta precursors that are highly stable in the presence of water were developed. No alkoxides of Ti, Nb and Ta were utilized in the preparation, instead much less moisture-sensitive metallic Ti, NbCl5 and TaCl5 were chosen as starting chemicals for Ti, Nb and Ta, respectively. The feasibility of these chemicals as precursors is demonstrated in the powder synthesis of BaTi4O9, Y3NbO7 and LiTaO3. The water-resistant Ti precursor was employed as a new source of water-soluble Ti in the amorphous citrate method, and phase pure BaTi4O9 in powdered form was successfully synthesized at 800 ?. The Pechini-type polymerizable complex method using the water-resistant Nb and Ta precursors was applied to the synthesis of Y3NbO7 and LiTaO3, and both the powder materials in their pure form were successfully synthesized at reduced tempera-tures, viz. 500-700 ?. The remarkable retardation of hydrolysis of these water-resistant precursors is explained in terms of the partial charge model theory.
The Ta/TaN multilayer structure with repeating layers of a poly-crystalline Ta layer of high ductility and a TaN layer of high hardness is expected to exhibit toughness. This paper reports the results on the hardness and the adhesion strength of Ta/TaN multilayers and compositional gradient Ta/TaN layers deposited on the high speed steel substrate by reactive sputtering as a function of annealing temperature. The TaN film deposited with the $N_2$/Ar ratio of 0.4 in the reactive sputtering process exhibits the highest crystallinity, and the highest hardness and the results of scratch test of the Ta/TaN multilayers. The hardness and adhesion strength of the Ta/TaN multilayers becomes deteriorated with increasing the annealing temperature in the heat treatment right after depositing the layers. Therefore, post-annealing treatments are not desirable in the case of the Ta/TaN multilayers from the standpoint of mechanical properties. Also the hardness of Ta/TaN multilayers increases with decreasing the compositional modulation wavelength, but the adhesion property of the layers is nearly independent of the wavelength. On the other hand, the compositional gradient Ta/TaN film exhibits the highest hardness and the value of scratch test for the post-annealing temperatures of 20$0^{\circ}C$ and 40$0^{\circ}C$, respectively. This tendency of the compositional gradient Ta/TaN films differs from that of the Ta/TaN multilayers.
