품질인증시스템과 6시그마의 통합적 추진에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Integrated Implementation of Quality Certification Systems and Six Sigma)

  • In today's competitive, market-driven world, a company's survival rests in its ability to provide quality performance products accompanied by total customer satisfaction. To satisfy the needs of customers, companies strive for defect free performances. This requires companies establish an integrated quality management system based on ISO 9000, ISO 14000, QS-9000, AS-9000, TL-9000, 100 PPM, and six sigma. This paper suggests that how to integrate implementation of quality certification systems and six sigma is an important approach in the continuous quality improvement, and six sigma efforts have become one of the key success approach. Through the various survey of total quality management system approach, it is intended to provide a chance to benchmark or give a cue on how to conduct the quality management innovation.

  • Since commercial operation of Kori-1 nuclear power plant in 1978, twenty units are under operation and six units are under construction at 2011 present. Nuclear power become a main energy source in our country. However, the plant was constructed by a USA vendor in its beginning period, the Quality Assurance requirements of USA was applied. Even though Quality Assurance requirements were newly established to the Korea Atomic Energy Act, its contents are quite similar to those of USA. And 10 CFR 50 App.B, ASME NQA-1 apply to most of nuclear industries as a quality assurance plan. In this paper, Quality Assurance requirement of domestic nuclear industries has been investigated and applicable method of ISO Quality Assurance application to the nuclear industries is suggested by a comparison ISO 9000 and nuclear quality assurance specification.

  • This paper is related to the effect analysis of certification of ISO 9000 Quality Management System. We collect and analyze the field data of certification costs and profit from companies that are located at southeast area in Korea. The effect analysis is based on the type and scale of companies. We use defective rate and inventory turnover rate as the criterion of positive effect after certification. As a result, we may conclude that the certification of ISO Quality Management System gives companies positive effects.

Cost Estimation for ISO 9000 Certification in Japanese Companies

  • It is widely recognized that ISO 9000 certification bring some profits, such as enhancement of quality system and some concerns. Since one of the major concerns is cost for certification, this paper considers the cost for ISO 9000 certification in Japanese companies through review some winning reports and case studies. Specifically, a model that describes the certification activities and their cost is derived through reviewing some winning reports in order to give a framework of cost estimation. Based on the model, we estimate the certification cost in an electric division of a company through an interview survey. Furthermore, we focused on the cost for promotion and administration as a cost for the sake only certification, because these activities will not be needed if a company does not implement ISO certification. It is concluded that this cost may vary approximately 300,000-700,000 (US$) per certification by the interview and telephone surveys to Japanese steel companies.

  • A construction model of quality management system in manufacturing industry focuses on process approach and continual improvement amongst the quality management 8 principles which are elements of quality management system of ISO 9000:2000 family standards, and proposes the model that can construct quality management system throughout the process approach as more simple and effective way in developing and applying a quality management system for characteristics of the manufacturing industry.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of process approach for business performance of a company certified with ISO 9000 : 2000 quality management system. The result of this empirical research were identified as follows. Documentation and an intelligence process appeared with a preference matter in an influence to reach to a business performance of a company through the organization which established a process approach. It reveals that the process approach of quality management system might affect positively for customer satisfaction, product qualify, financial results and cost reduction.

A Study on Fruit Quality Identification Using YOLO V2 Algorithm

  • Currently, one of the fields leading the 4th industrial revolution is the image recognition field of artificial intelligence, which is showing good results in many fields. In this paper, using is a YOLO V2 model, which is one of the image recognition models, we intend to classify and select into three types according to the characteristics of fruits. To this end, it was designed to proceed the number of iterations of learning 9000 counts based on 640 mandarin image data of 3 classes. For model evaluation, normal, rotten, and unripe mandarin oranges were used based on images. We as a result of the experiment, the accuracy of the learning model was different depending on the number of learning. Normal mandarin oranges showed the highest at 60.5% in 9000 repetition learning, and unripe mandarin oranges also showed the highest at 61.8% in 9000 repetition learning. Lastly, rotten tangerines showed the highest accuracy at 86.0% in 7000 iterations. It will be very helpful if the results of this study are used for fruit farms in rural areas where labor is scarce.

CT performance phantom을 이용한 cone beam형 전산화단층영상의 특성 (Image characteristics of cone beam computed tomography using a CT performance phantom)

  • Purpose: To evaluate the characteristics of (widely used) cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) images. Materials and Methods: Images were obtained with CT performance phantoms (The American Association of Physicists in Medicine; AAPM). CT phantom as the destination by using PSR $9000N^{TM}$ dental CT system (Asahi Roentgen Ind. Co., Ltd., Japan) and i-CAT CBCT (Imaging Science International Inc., USA) that have different kinds of detectors and field of view, and compared these images with the CT number for linear attenuation, contrast resolution, and spatial resolution. Results: CT number of both PSR $9000N^{TM}$ dental CT system and i-CAT CBCT did not conform to the base value of CT performance phantom. The contrast of i-CAT CBCT is higher than that of PSR $9000N^{TM}$ dental CT system. Both contrasts were increased according to thickness of cross section. Spatial resolution and shapes of reappearance was possible up to 0.6 mm in PSR $9000N^{TM}$ dental CT system and up to 1.0 mm in i-CAT CBCT. Low contrast resolution in region of low contrast sensitivity revealed low level at PSR $9000N^{TM}$ dental CT system and i-CAT CBCT. Conclusion: CBCT images revealed higher spatial resolution, however, contrast resolution in region of low contrast sensitivity was the inferiority of image characteristics.

  • ISO/IEC 9000에 의하면 품질이란 사용 시 사용자 요구사항을 만족시키는 제품이나 서비스의 특성을 종합한 개념으로 정의하고 있다. 웹애플리케이션의 시큐어코딩은 안정성과 함께 정보시스템 서비스 품질을 결정짓는 요소 중의 하나이다. 시큐어코딩을 달성하기 위해서는 품질을 기반으로 하는 설계 모델이 필요하다. 그 이유는 보안도 하나의 품질 속성으로서 비 기능적 요구사항의 범위에 속하기 때문이다. 웹애플리케이션 품질평가체계 설계를 위해서는 품질의 정의를 기초로 품질속성, 품질요구사항, 품질측정 시나리오가 정의되고 설정되어야 한다. 이를 위해 IEEE 1061 품질모델을 참조한 웹애플리케이션 품질모델 관리체계를 개발한다. 웹 애플리케이션 아키텍쳐 설계는 시큐어코딩 품질모델 체계, 웹어플리케이션 이해관계자 관심 도출, 아키텍처 동인 결정, 품질속성 도출, 보안품질 요구사항 설정, 웹어플리케이션 아키텍처기술서 작성, 보안 프레임워크 설계 순서로 구성된다.

중소기업의 품질경영시스템 인증성과에 관한 실증연구 (Certification of Quality Management System and Firm Performance: An Empirical Approach based on the Experiences of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Korea)

  • This paper attempts to identify empirically whether the certification of Quality Management System affects positively to firm performance using the sample sets of 200 SMEs in Korea who have adopted ISO 9000 majoring in the domestic markets as well as the overseas markets. The empirical study has been done on the assumptions and the hypothesis that the certification itself can conceptually and practically be considered an effective tool to improve the level of standardization of quality management system, and it would result in higher productivity and good corporate image by enabling firms to strengthen up their capabilities to achieve competitive advantage. The empirical findings show that the ISO 9000 has positively contributed to not only obtaining competitive advantage but also bringing about a superior firm performance as it would be, making sure that the certification itself would be used as a powerful tool for good management. This study also pinpoints that the success/failure in introducing & adopting the certification depends highly upon the managers' interests and concerns, especially the CEO's.
