후향계단 유동장 저차 모델링을 위한 ARX 설계 기법 (ARX Design Technique for Low Order Modeling of Backward-Facing-Step Flow Field)

  • 본 논문에서는 후향계단(Backward Facing Step) 유동장의 유동운동에 대한 ARX(Auto Regressive eXogenous) 모델링 기법을 제시한다. BFS 유동장 모델링을 위해 밀도를 모드분석을 통해 고유 공간모드와 시간계수를 추출한다. 입력 차수와 상태변수 차수는 각각 유동장 스팩트럼 분석과 시간계수 분석을 통해 결정한다. 또한, 유동장의 속도 분석을 통해 ARX의 입력 지연 차수를 결정한다. 한편, ARX 모델의 계수는 신경망을 이용하여 설계한다.

  • We propose a prediction method of the pollutant and a synchronous classification of the current state of SOx emission in the power plant. We use the auto-regressive with exogeneous (ARX) model as a predictor of SOx emission and use a radial basis function network (RBFN) as a pattem classifier. The ARX modeling scheme is implemented using recursive least squares (RLS) method to update the model parameters adaptively. The capability of SOx emission monitoring is utilized with the application of the RBFN classifier. Experimental results show that the ARX model can predict the SOx emission concentration well and ARX modeling parameters can be a good feature for the state monitoring. in addition, its validity has been verified through the power spectrum analysis. Consequently, the RBFN classifier in combination with ARX model is shown to be quite adequate for monitoring the state of SOx emission.

FPGA-based ARX-Laguerre PIO fault diagnosis in robot manipulator

  • The main contribution of this work is the design of a field programmable gate array (FPGA) based ARX-Laguerre proportional-integral observation (PIO) system for fault detection and identification (FDI) in a multi-input, multi-output (MIMO) nonlinear uncertain dynamical robot manipulators. An ARX-Laguerre method was used in this study to dynamic modeling the robot manipulator in the presence of uncertainty and disturbance. To address the challenges of robustness, fault detection, isolation, and estimation the proposed FPGA-based PI observer was applied to the ARX-Laguerre robot model. The effectiveness and accuracy of FPGA based ARX-Laguerre PIO was tested by first three degrees of the freedom PUMA robot manipulator, yielding 6.3%, 10.73%, and 4.23%, average performance improvement for three types of faults (e.g., actuator fault, sensor faults, and composite fault), respectively.

  • This paper proposes a two dimensional behavior analysis method for fish in a water tank based on the ARX method and the Kalman filter algorithm using image processing technology. In modeling the behavior of fish, the input is denoted as the environmental change and uses M-sequence. The output is expressed by the partnership between fish. The behavior model of individual fish is identified by the ARX method. It is then estimated by the Kalman filter algorithm. Finally, the fish behavior is analyzed by FFT. To prove the effectiveness of the pro-posed algorithm, it is applied to two tilapias in a water tank with dimensions of 100cm$\times$100cm$\times$50cm. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through ARX identification, estimation of Kalman filter, and FFT analysis.

계층적 베이지안 ARX 모형을 활용한 염분모의기법 개발 (Development of salinity simulation using a hierarchical bayesian ARX model)

  • 새만금 농업단지가 조성됨에 따라 농업용수 공급이 요구되며, 농업적 측면에서 염분은 작물 재배시 생육에 영향을 미치는 항목으로 농업용수 공급시 철저한 관리가 요구된다. 따라서 농작물에 영향을 미치지 않는 농업용수 공급을 위해 염분계측을 통한 체계적인 농업용수 관리가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 새만금호내에 관측되는 염분 시계열 자료를 모의하기 위해서 자기회귀모형을 기반으로 한 Two-Stage ARX 모형을 개발하였다. 층별로 나눠진 염분자료를 계층적 Bayesian기법을 활용하여 매개변수를 확률분포형으로 추정하였으며 염분모의의 불확실성을 제시하였다. 최적 모형을 선정하기 위해서 통계적 지표인 BIC값을 이용하였으며, 최종적으로 선정된 모형을 통해 양수장 인근 수역의 염분 모의 결과를 제시하였다.

채터로브 계산을 위한 고유모우드 분석법 (Natural Mode Analysis for Chatter Lobe Estimation)

  • For the estimation of chatter lobe boundary it is very important to calculate the natural mode of cutting process. There are many time series algorithms for getting the natural mode of structural endmilling dynamics considering the cutting process. In this study, we have compared several time series methods such as AR algorithm, ARX, ARMAX, ARMA, Box Jenkins, Output Error, Recursive ARX, Recursive ARMAX considering the sampling frequency. As a results, the ARX, ARMAX and IV 4 are more desirable algorithms for the calculation of modal parameters such as natural frequency and damping ratio In endmilling operation. Also these algorithms may be adopted for the natural mode estimation of endmilling operation for chatter lobe prediction.

  • Experimental study showed that the existing mathematical model doesn't fully describe the lateral motion of a moving web fur different operating conditions. So, a physically interpretable model of lateral motion of a moving web in a typical web guidance system, operated at Konkuk Univ., was developed using the system identification technique. A well-known Least Square Method based on ARX model was used for the system identification. Lateral displacement of the web was measured at the exit of each span by infrared sensors. The model obtained from identifying a linear time-invariant system for a typical operating condition yields an improved prediction capability of the lateral dynamics of the moving web compared to other mathematical models proposed in literature.

Sensor clustering technique for practical structural monitoring and maintenance

  • In this study, an investigation of a damage detection methodology for global condition assessment is presented. A particular emphasis is put on the utilization of wireless sensors for more practical, less time consuming, less expensive and safer monitoring and eventually maintenance purposes. Wireless sensors are deployed with a sensor roving technique to maintain a dense sensor field yet requiring fewer sensors. The time series analysis method called ARX models (Auto-Regressive models with eXogeneous input) for different sensor clusters is implemented for the exploration of artificially induced damage and their locations. The performance of the technique is verified by making use of the data sets acquired from a 4-span bridge-type steel structure in a controlled laboratory environment. In that, the free response vibration data of the structure for a specific sensor cluster is measured by both wired and wireless sensors and the acceleration output of each sensor is used as an input to ARX model to estimate the response of the reference channel of that cluster. Using both data types, the ARX based time series analysis method is shown to be effective for damage detection and localization along with the interpretations and conclusions.

시스템 식별 방법을 이용한 볼텍스 튜브 모델링 (Vortex Tube Modeling Using the System Identification Method)

  • 본 연구에서는 고온측과 저온측의 온도 예측을 위한 볼텍스 튜브 모델을 개발하였다. 볼텍스 튜브 모델은 시스템 식별 방법을 기반으로 개발하였으며, 개발된 볼텍스 튜브 모델은 ARX(Auto-Regressive with eXtra inputs)모델을 기반으로 하여 설계되었다. 본 연구에서 유도된 다항식 모델은 모델의 정확성을 확인하기 위해 실험데이터와 검증하였다. 또한, 유도된 모델은 안정성 검사 통과를 보여준다. 저온측 스로틀 밸브 각도를 변경하였을 때, 적절히 온도 분리가 이루어지는 것을 확인하였으며, 동적응답을 확인하기 위해 저온측 스로틀 밸브 각도를 변경 시켰을 경우, 볼텍스 튜브 모델의 온도가 적절히 분리 되는 것을 확인할 수 있다. 결론적으로, 개발된 볼텍스 튜브 모델을 저온측 스로틀 밸브 각도에 따라 온도 분리 예측이 가능하다는 것을 확인할 수 있다.

전기-유압 서보 시스템의 모델규명 및 이산시간 슬라이딩 모드 제어 (Model Indentification and Discrete-Time Sliding Mode Control of Electro-Hydraulic Systems)

  • This paper describes the model identification and the discrete-time sliding mode control of electro-hydraulic servo systems which are composed of servo valves, double-rod cylinder and load mass. The controlled plant is identified as a 3th-order discrete-time ARMAX model obtained from the prediction error algorithm, where a nominal model and modeling errors are zuantitatively constructed. The discrete sliding mode controller for 3th-order ARMAX model is designed in discrete-time domain, where all states are observed from Kalman filter. The discrete sliding mode controller has better tracking performance than that obtained from continuous-time sliding mode controller, in experiment.
