ART2 신경회로망을 이용한 밀링공정의 공구마모 진단 (Tool Wear Monitoring in Milling Operation Using ART2 Neural Network)

  • This study introduces a tool wear monitoring technology in face milling operation comprised of an unsupervised neural network. The monitoring system employs two types of sensor signal such as cutting force and acceleration in sensory detection state. The RMS value and band frequency energy of the sensor signals are calculated for te input patterns of neural network. ART2 neural network, which is capable of self organizing without supervised learning, is used for clustering of tool wear states. The experimental results show that tool wear can be effectively detected under various cutting conditions without prior knowledge of cutting processes.

  • This study investigates the feasibility of the real time detection of tool breadage in face milling operation. The proposed methodology using an ART2 neural network overcomes a cumbersome task in terms of the learning or determining a threshold value. The features taken in the researchare the AR parameters modelled from a RLS, and those are proven to be good features for tool breakage from experiments. From the results of the off line application, we can conclude that an ART2 neural network can be well applied to the clustering of tool states in real time regardless of the unsupervised learning.

  • 본 논문에서는 실내대기 가스모니터링 시스템에서의 센서 고장 진단을 위한 신경회로망 기반 고장진단방법을 제안한다. 제안한 고장진단 방법에서는 신호패턴추출을 위해 센서히터 온도조절방법을 이용하였으며, 분류를 위해서는 ART2 신경회로망을 이용하였다. 그리고 가스모니터링 시스템의 실제 데이터를 이용한 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안한 ART2 신경회로망 기반 센서고장진단방법의 성능과 유용성을 확인하였다.

  • We propose an ART2 neural network-based fault diagnosis method to diagnose of sensor in the gas monitoring system. In the proposed method, using thermal modulation of operating temperature of sensor, the signal patterns are extracted from the voltage of load resistance. Also, fault classifier by ART2 NN (adaptive resonance theory 2 neural network) with uneven vigilance parameters is used for fault isolation. The performances of the proposed fault diagnosis method are shown by simulation results using real data obtained from the gas monitoring system.

  • In this paper, we propose a new mART(modified ART) neural network by combining the winner neuron definition method of SOM(self-organizing map) and the real-time adaptive clustering function of ART(adaptive resonance theory) and construct it in a modular structure, for the purpose of organizing the feature maps of three dimensional targets. Being constructed in a modular structure, the proposed modular mART can effectively prevent the clusters from representing multiple classes and can be trained to organze two dimensional distortion invariant feature maps so as to recognize targets with three dimensional distortion. We also present the recognition result and self-organization perfdormance of the proposed modular mART neural network after carried out some experiments with 14 tank and fighter target models.

웨이브렛과 ART2 신경망을 이용한 실장 PCB 분류 시스템 (Mounted PCB Classification System Using Wavelet and ART2 Neural Network)

  • In this paper, we propose an algorithms for the mounted PCB classification system using wavelet transform and ART2 neural network. The feature informations of a mounted PCB can be extracted from the coefficient matrix of wavelet transform adapted subband concept. As the preprocessing process, only the PCB area in the input image is extracted by histogram method and the feature vectors are composed of using wavelet transform method. These feature vectors are used as the input vector of ART2 neural network. In the experiment using 55 mounted PCB images, the proposed algorithm shows 100% classification rate at the vigilance parameter $\rho$=0.99. The proposed algorithm has some advantages of the feature extraction in the compressed domain and the simplification of processing steps.

  • ART (Adaptive Resonance Theory [1]) neural network and its variations perform non-hierarchical clustering by unsupervised learning. We propose a scheme "arboART" for hierarchical clustering by using several ART1.5-SSS networks. It classifies multidimensional vectors as a cluster tree, and finds features of clusters. The Basic idea of arboART is to use the prototype formed in an ART network as an input to other ART network that has looser distance criteria (Ishihara, et al., [2,3]). By sending prototype vectors made by ART to one after another, many small categories are combined into larger and more generalized categories. We can draw a dendrogram using classification records of sample and categories. We have confirmed its ability using standard test data commonly used in pattern recognition community. The clustering result is better than traditional computing methods, on separation of outliers, smaller error (diameter) of clusters and causes no chaining. This methodology is applied to Kansei evaluation experiment data analysis.

  • In this paper, we propose a fault diagnosis algorithm to detect and isolate multiple faults in a system. The proposed fault diagnosis algorithm is based on a multiple fault classifier which consists of two ART2 NN(adaptive resonance theory2 neural network) modules and the algorithm is composed of three main parts - parameter estimation, fault detection and isolation. When a change in the system occurs, estimated parameters go through a transition zone in which residuals between the system output and the estimated output cross the threshold, and in this zone, estimated parameters are transferred to the multiple faults classifier for fault isolation. From the computer simulation results, it is verified that when the proposed diagnosis algorithm is performed successfully, it detects and isolates faults in the position control system of a DC motor.

  • We propose a real time gas monitoring system for classifying various gases with different concentrations. Using thermal modulation of operating temperature of two sensors, we extract patterns of gases from the voltage across the load resistance. We adopt the relative resistance as a pre-processing method and an ART2 neural network as a pattern recognition method. The proposed method has been implemented in a real time embedded system with tin oxide gas sensors, TGS 2611, 2602 and an MSP430 ultra-low power microcontroller in the test chamber.

  • 본 논문에서는 비선형시스템에서 발생한 고장을 감지하고 분류하기 위한 신경회로망기반 고장진단 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 알고리듬에서는 시스템의 출력과 다층신경회로망 공칭모델 출력 사이의 오차가 미리 설정한 문턱값을 넘으면 고장을 감지한다. 고장이 감지되면 다층신경회로망과 ART2 신경회로망을 이용한 고장분류기에서 시스템에서 발생한 고장을 분류한다. 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 결과로부터 제안한 고장진단방법이 비선형시스템에서의 고장감지 및 분류문제에 잘 적용됨을 알 수 있다.
