State Estimator and Controller Design of an AR Drone with ROS (ROS를 이용한 드론의 상태 추정과 제어기 설계)

  • 본 논문에서는 ROS (Robot Operating System)에 대해서 소개하고 ROS를 이용해 드론의 제어기와 필터를 구현해본다. 드론이 강인한 성능을 보이기 위해서는 기체의 상태에 대한 더 정확한 추정이 필요하다. 드론이 기체좌표계로 출력하는 각 축(x축, y축, z축)에 대한 선속도, 선가속도를 더 정확히 추정하기 위해 칼만 필터를 설계하며 칼만 필터를 통과한 상태 변수를 제어 입력으로 하는 PID(Proportional Integral Derivative) 제어기를 설계한다. 실험적인 부분에서는 제어기와 자율 주행 알고리즘을 접목시켜 드론이 자신의 상태를 추정하고 알고리즘을 순차적으로 진행하는 과정을 살펴본다. 마지막으로 알고리즘을 통해 드론의 임무 수행 여부를 살펴보고 정밀한 제어를 위한 추가적인 제어기 설계 방법과 연구 방향을 제시하고자 한다.

Industry 4.0 & Construction H&S: Comparative Perceptions

  • Historical construction health and safety (H&S) challenges, in terms of a range of resources and issues, continue to be experienced, namely design process-related hazards are encountered on site, workers are unaware of the hazards and risks related to the construction process and its activities, activities are commenced on site without adequate hazard identification and risk assessments (HIRAs), difficulty is experienced in terms of real time monitoring of construction-related activities, workers handle heavy materials, plant, and equipment, and ultimately the experience of injuries. Given the abovementioned, and the advent of Industry 4.0, a quantitative study, which entailed the completion of a self-administered questionnaire online, was conducted among registered professional (Pr) and candidate Construction H&S Agents, to determine the potential of Industry 4.0 to contribute to resolving the challenges cited. The findings indicate that Industry 4.0 technologies such as augmented reality (AR), drone technology, virtual reality (VR), VR based H&S training, and wearable technology /sensors have the potential to resolve the cited H&S challenges as experienced in construction. Conclusions include that Industry 4.0 technologies can finally address the persistent H&S challenges experienced in construction. Recommendations include: employer associations, professional associations, and statutory councils should raise the level of awareness relative to the potential implementation of Industry 4.0 relative to H&S in construction; case studies should be documented and shared; tertiary construction management education programmes should integrate Industry 4.0 into all possible modules, especially H&S-related modules, and continuing professional development (CPD) H&S should address Industry 4.0.

  • Internet-of-Things(IoT) is the computing paradigm converged with different technologies, where diverse devices are connected via the wireless network, acquire environmental information from their equipped sensors, and actuated. IoT applications typically provide smart services to users by interacting with multiple devices connected to the network and are designed by integrating multiple technologies such as sensor network, communication technologies, and software engineering. Moreover, since the concept of IoT has been introduced recently, most of the researches are in the beginning step, which is too early to be practically applied. Due to these facts, developing IoT application results in unconventional technical challenges which have not been observed in typical software applications. And, it is not straightforward to apply conventional project guidelines to IoT application development projects. Hence, there can be many difficulties to successfully complete the projects. Therefore, for successful completion of the projects, we analyze technical challenges occurring in all phases of the project lifecycle, i.e. project preparation stage and development stage. And, we propose the effective solutions to overcome the issues. To verify identified issues and presented solutions, we present the result of applying the solutions to an IoT application development. Through the case study, we evaluate how reasonable the unconventional technical issues are generated and analyze effectiveness of applying the solutions to the application.

Strategies for Increasing the Value and Sustainability of Archaeological Education in the Post-COVID-19 Era (포스트 코로나 시대 고고유산 교육의 가치와 지속가능성을 위한 전략)

  • With the crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic and the era of the 4th industrial revolution, archaeological heritage education has entered a new phase. This article responds to the trends in the post-COVID-19 era, seeking ways to develop archaeological heritage education and sustainable strategies necessary in the era of the 4th industrial revolution. The program of archaeological heritage education required in the era of the 4th industrial revolution must cultivate creative talent, solve problems, and improve self-efficacy. It should also draw attention to archaeological heritage maker education. Such maker education should be delivered based on constructivism and be designed by setting specific learning goals in consideration of various age-specific characteristics. Moreover, various ICT-based contents applying VR, AR, cloud, and drone imaging technologies should be developed and expanded, and, above all, ontact digital education(real-time virtual learning) should seek ways to revitalize communities capable of interactive communication in non-face-to-face situations. The development of such ancient heritage content needs to add AI functions that consider learners' interests, learning abilities, and learning purposes while producing various convergent contents from the standpoint of "cultural collage." Online archaeological heritage content education should be delivered following prior learning or with supplementary learning in consideration of motivation or field learning to access the real thing in the future. Ultimately, archaeological ontact education will be delivered using cutting-edge technologies that reflect the current trends. In conjunction with this, continuous efforts are needed for constructive learning that enables discovery and question-exploration.
