Modeling and Performance Evaluation of AP Deployment Schemes for Indoor Location-Awareness (실내 환경에서 위치 인식율을 고려한 AP 배치 기법의 모델링 및 성능 평가)

  • This paper presents an AP placement technique considering indoor location-awareness and examines its performance. The proposed AP placement technique is addressed from three performance metrics: location-awareness and AP-based wireless network performance as well as its cost. The proposed AP placement technique consists of meta-heuristic algorithms that yield a near optimal AP configuration for given performance metrics, and deterministic algorithms that improve the fast convergence of the near optimal AP configuration. The performance of the AP placement technique presented in this paper is measured under the environments simulating indoor space, and numerical results obtained by experimental evaluation yield the fast convergence of a near-optimal solution to a given performance metric.

  • Deep learning is known as a method of high accuracy among several methods for image classification. In this paper, we propose a method of enhancing the accuracy of image classification using CNN with a batch normalization method for classification of images using deep CNN (Convolutional Neural Network). In this paper, we propose a method to add a batch normalization layer to existing neural networks to enhance the accuracy of image classification. Batch normalization is a method to calculate and move the average and variance of each batch for reducing the deflection in each layer. In order to prove the superiority of the proposed method, Accuracy and mAP are measured by image classification experiments using five image data sets SHREC13, MNIST, SVHN, CIFAR-10, and CIFAR-100. Experimental results showed that the CNN with batch normalization is better classification accuracy and mAP rather than using the conventional CNN.

  • STEP은 제품모델 정보를 서로 다른 CAD 시스템에서 교환할 수 있게 하기위한 중립형식의 국제표준으로서 CALS/EC의 구현을 위해 필수적인 핵심기반 기술이다. 선박 관련 STEP은 지금까지 미국과 유럽의 여러 연구사업을 통해 개발되어 오고 있으며 AP215(선박구획배치), AP216(선박선형), AP217(선박배관), AP218(선박구조)은 올해 안에 CD(Committee Draft) 안이 완성될 예정이다. 우리나라는 일본과 함께 세계 조선시장을 양분하고 있는 조선 강국이면서도 관련 정보기술의 낙후로 STEP 기술 개발에는 미온적이었으나 최근 선박해양공학분소에서 과기부의 특정과제로 수행하는 KS-STEP 과제를 통하여 ATS 318 (AP218, 선박구조의 ATS) 개발 책임을 맡게되어 본격적인 관련 연구를 시작하게 되었다. 여기에서는 ATS 318 개발을 위해 조선소와 선급 등 선박관련 업체들의 기술 정보 교환 프로세스를 분석하여 나타내었다. 각 프로세스에서 요구되는 기술정보의 형태와 추상화 정도가 분석되고 선박 STEP AP들의 기반 구조인 SCM(ship common model)에서 어떻게 그들 특성을 지원해야 하는지를 검토하였다.

  • In this paper, we analyze the effect of access point (AP) deployment on the accuracy of indoor localization. Two representative geometrical arrangements of AP deployment are selected. One is that a Tag is centered at the regular triangle composed of 3 AP's, and the other is that a Tag is set apart from the straight line composed of 3 AP's. As a result of simulation, the first case has a probability of 93% with distance errors within 1m, while the second case has a 32% of probability.

  • The 3-Acetylpyridine(3-AP) induces cerebellar injury which is chemoablation of the inferior olive nucleus. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of exercise(Ex) and electroacupuncture(EA) on muscle activity of hindlimb and serum brain derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF) in the ataxia rats by the 3-AP. 12-week-aged male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into the 5 groups: Control, 3-AP, 3-AP+Ex, 3-AP+EA and 3-AP+Ex+EA groups. Maximal Height Vertical Jump(MHVJ) was significantly decreased in the 3-AP compared with control group, and it was increased in Ex, EA and Ex+EA groups than 3-AP group. The muscle activity of hindlimb was significantly increased in the 3-AP groups than control group, also it was most decreased in Ex+EA group. The concentration of BDNF of the serum was significantly decreased in the Ex, EA and Ex+EA groups than 3-AP group. The results of this study showed that dynamic exercise and electroacupuncture have a positive effect on functional recovery and in the ataxia rats by the 3-AP.

  • In wireless environment, to provide more efficient service area is need to maintain proper location of wireless LAN AP. Since structural effect corresponding to location of arbitrary scatterers must be considered. Using FDTD method, an obstacle in scattering field should be considered and its diffraction effect for some cross wall is estimated between transmitter and receiver point.

  • In wireless environment such as wireless LAN, proper location of wireless LAN AP allows us to take an effective coverage to provide good wireless communication service. To simulate wireless environment, FDTD formulation is introduced and Gaussian pulse injection in grid space is considered to be replaced wireless LAN AP. So structural effect corresponding to location of arbitrary obstacle must be considered, and its received gain is estimated. An obstacle in scattering field should be modeled to be conductor and concrete wall and its diffraction effect for some cross wall is evaluated between transmitter and receiver point.

  • 최근 들어 빌딩에 대해 단순이 이용 가능한 공간이 아닌 IP기반의 센서를 이용한 빌딩 자동화 연구가 활발히 진행 되고 있다. IP 기반의 센서는 기존의 빌딩 내 IT 인프라에 쉽게 적용 가능 하며, 무선기술을 이용한 빌딩 내 센서 배치가 용이하다. IP 기반 센서는 6LoWPAN, Zigbee 등이 있으며, IETF의 표준화 기술인 6LoWPAN이 선호 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 빌딩 내 무선 센서네트워크 설계를 위해 6LoWPAN 응용계층의 CoAP 그룹통신 기술을 이용 하여 빌딩 내트워크 설계 연구를 소개 한다.

Indoor positioning technique using the landmark based on relative AP signal strengths

  • In this paper, we propose an indoor positioning technique using the landmark based on relative Access Point (AP) signal strengths. The absolute values of AP signals are used to conventional indoor positioning technologies, but they may be different because of the difference of the measuring device, the measuring environment, and the timing of the measurements. However, we found the fact that the flow of the AP's RSSI in certain places shows almost constant patterns. Based on theses characteristics, we identify the relative strength between the APs and store the certain places as landmarks where they show certain patterns. Once the deployment of the landmark map is complete, system calculate position of user using the IMU sensor of smartphone and calibrate it with stored landmarks. Our system shows 75.2% improvement over technology that used only sensors, and 39.6% improvement over technology that used landmarks that were selected with absolute values.

  • In order to support the mobility of the wireless devices, at least two APs (Access Points) must be arranged in a single AP area to maintain communication area. In the WLAN (Wireless LAN) environment, seamless handover is one of the most important issues in terms of effective utilization of wireless networks and maximization of services for users. On the other hand, SDN (Software-Defined Networking), which is emerging rapidly in recent years, is revolutionizing network management in terms of flexibility, fine control, and convenience. SDN originally reduces latency time or increases network robustness by real-time flow table control reducing or bypassing paths between switches in LAN-based data centers. In this study, we apply OpenFlow, a SDN platform focused on wired LAN, to a dense WLAN environment using legacy APs to implement and evaluate seamless handover for streaming services of digital contents.
