APDL Customizing 기반한 신축관으로 연결된 파이프 시스템의 유한요소 해석 (Finite Element Analysis of Pipe Systems Connected by Bellows Based on APDL Customizing)

  • This study performed a finite element stress analysis of pipe system connected by bellows based on APDL(ANSYS Parametric Design Language) customizing. The effects of different shapes of developed pipes for various parameters are studied using the finite element commercial package for this study. The structural behavior of complex pipe structures with bellows was also investigated to study the interactions between bellows and other parts. Based on the ANSYS APDL, the effect of initial axial and lateral displacements, and internal temperature and pressure on the Von Mises stress distribution is also analyzed.

  • Bellows is widely used in many industrial fields as it provides a relatively simple means of absorbing mechanical shock, vibration and thermal deformation with flexibility. In this study, the inherent dynamic characteristics of curved bellows are numerically studied according to the variation of angle, curvature and crest density, etc. For these numerical studies, a parametric finite element modelling program of curved bellows is constructed using ANSYS APDL. The validity of numerical results obtained from ANSYS software is experimentally verified using the test model made by RP machine SLA 5000.

  • Recently, the shock resistance and dynamic characteristics of hard disk drives have become more important due to their highly increased storage density and miniaturization. In this study, we have developed an ANSYS/Mechanical/LS-DYNA based HDD vibration/shock simulation tool for design engineers. This simulation tool using ANSYS APDL can produce a parametric finite element modeling of HDD automatically and has GUI-based applications using the script program language Tcl/Tk. In the present tool, we adopt the reliable methodology of vibration/shock simulation, which is experimentally verified. It is expected that this simulation tool can make the repetitive computational efforts for the shock-proof design of HDD drastically reduced.

  • This study analyzes gestation stall structures with high strength concrete. The ANSYS program described in this paper is effective not only because it shows good accuracy but also it shows the goodness of parameter studies by using APDL(ANSYS Parametric Design Language). We have performed the various parameter studies by thickness change. The results is presented by using contours and tables. The analysis results showed that it was effective to increase the height thickness(tz) rather than longitudinal thickness(tx).

  • 본 연구의 목적은 최적화 해석 기법을 이용하여 복합재 압력용기의 스커트 치수를 도출하는 것이다. 복합재 압력용기의 스커트 최적화 해석은 부분문제 근사법(sub-problem approximation method) 알고리즘을 사용하였으며, APDL(ANSYS Parametric Design Language)을 이용하여 해석의 모든 과정을 일괄처리(batch processing)하였다. 설계변수로는 압력용기 스커트 부위의 두께와 길이를 선정하였으며, 내압에 의해 발생하는 변위와 무게를 각각 목적함수로 하여 최적화 해석을 통해 최적의 스커트 치수를 도출하였다. 그 결과 복합재 압력용기의 스커트 무게를 최대 4.38% 절감할 수 있었다.

  • In mechanical design, optimization procedures have mostly been implemented solely by CAE codes combined by optimization routine, in which the model is built, analyzed and optimized. In the complex geometries, however, CAD is indispensable tool for the efficient and accurate modeling. This paper presents a method to carry out optimization, in which CAD and CAE are used for modeling and analysis respectively and integrated in an optimization routine. Application Programming Interface (API) function is exploited to automate CAD modeling, which enables direct access to CAD. The advantage of this method is that the user can create very complex object in Parametric and automated way, which is impossible in CAE codes. Unigraphics and ANSYS are adopted as CAD and CAE tools. In ANSYS, automated analysis is done using codes made by a script language, APDL(ANSYS Parametric Design Language). Optimization is conducted by VisualDOC and IDESIGN respectively. As an illustrative example, a mold design problem is studied, which is to minimize temperature deviation over a diagonal line of the surface of the mold in contact with hot glass.

  • The modal frequency responses of adhesive bonded T-joint structure have been analyzed numerically and verified with own experimental data. For this purpose, the damped free frequencies of the bonded joint have been computed using a three-dimensional finite element model via ANSYS parametric design language (APDL) code. The practical relevance of the joint structure analysis has been established by comparing the simulation data with the in-house experimental values. Additionally, the influences of various geometrical and material parameters on the damped free frequency responses of the joint structure have been investigated and final inferences discussed in details. It is observed that the natural frequency values increase for the higher aspect ratios of the joint structure. Also, the joint made up of Glass fiber/epoxy with quasi-isotropic fiber orientation indicates more resistance towards free vibration.

토리구형 돔 형상을 갖는 연소관의 치수 최적화 설계 연구 (A Study on Size Optimization for Rocket Motor with a Torispherical Dome)

  • 본 연구에서는 토리구형 돔 형상을 갖는 연소관의 치수 최적화를 통한 경량화와 구조 안전성을 평가하였다. 치수최적화 설계는 빠른 설계 검증을 위하여 볼트의 단면적 비가 고려된 2차원 축대칭 유한요소 모델을 이용하여 수행하였다. 이때, 해석 프로그램은 ANSYS APDL(Ansys Parameter Design Language)을 이용하였고, 해석법은 sub-problem법과 first-order법을 선택하여 수행하였다. 설계 변수로는 연소관의 돔과 실린더 부위의 두께를 선정하였다. 수정된 2차원 축대칭 유한요소 모델은 3차원 유한요소 모델과의 결과 비교를 통하여 신뢰성을 확인하였고, 초기설계 단계에서 수정된 2차원 축대칭 유한요소 모델을 이용하여 연소관의 구조 안전성 평가와 빠르고 정확한 경량화 설계를 수행할 수 있었다. 연소관의 안전계수에 따른 최적화 해석 결과 최대 17.6%의 무게 절감 효과를 확인하였다.

  • ESO(Evolutionary Structural Optimization) method is known that elements involved low stress value are removed from the previous model or that elements are added around elements involved high stress level on it and then the optimized model is obtained with required weight. Rejection ratio/addition ratio and evolutionary ratio are predefined and elements having lower/higher stress than reference stress, which average Mises stress on edge elements times rejection ratio, are deleted/added. In this study, when the plate having a cutout is subjected various in-plane load, a cutout shape is optimized using ESO method. ANSYS is used to analyse a finite element model and optimization procedure is made by APDL (ANSYS Parametric Design Language). ESO method is useful in rather than a complex structure optimization as well as a cutout shape optimization.
