This paper aims to develop models to accurately predict the behavior of fresh concrete exposed to vibration using artificial neural networks (ANNs) model and regression model (RM). For this purpose, behavior of a full scale precast concrete mold was investigated experimentally and numerically. Experiment was performed under vibration with the use of a computer-based data acquisition system. Transducers were used to measure time-dependent lateral displacements at some points on mold while both mold is empty and full of fresh concrete. Modeling of empty and full mold was made using both ANNs and RM. For the modeling of ANNs: Experimental data were divided randomly into two parts. One of them was used for training of the ANNs and the remaining part was used for testing the ANNs. For the modeling of RM: Sinusoidal regression model equation was determined and the predicted data was compared with measured data. Finally, both models were compared with each other. The comparisons of both models show that the measured and testing results are compatible. Regression analysis is a traditional method that can be used for modeling with simple methods. However, this study also showed that ANN modeling can be used as an alternative method for behavior of fresh concrete exposed to vibration in precast concrete structures.
Recently, the development of novel control methodology enables us to improve the performance of AC-machine drives by using pulse width modulation (PWM) technique. Usually, the dynamic characteristic of induction motor (IM) has been represented by the 5-th order nonlinear differential equation. This dynamics, however, can be reduced to 3-rd order dynamics by applying direct control of IM input current. This methodology concludes that it is much easier to control IM by means of the field-oriented methods employing the current controller. Therefore a precise current control is crucial to achieve a high control performance both in dynamic and steady state operations. This paper presents an adaptive fuzzy current controller with artificial neural network (ANN) for field-oriented controlled IM. This new control structure is able to adaptively minimize a current ripple while maintaining constant switching frequency. Especially the proposed controller employs neuro-computing philosophy as well as adaptive learning pattern recognizing principles with respect to variations of the system parameters. The proposed approach is applied to the IM drive system, and its performance is tested through various simulations. Simulation results show that the proposed system, compared among several known classical methods, has a superb performance.

A mathematical model for the hydrodynamic forces acting on the ship manoeuvring in waves is formulated and a numerical method for the problem is developed. The motion of a ship, which manoeuvres in waves, may be thought to have two components; one is a high frequency component due to encounter waves, and the other is a low frequency component due to manoeuvring motion. So the method of two time scale expansion is used to divide linear boundary value problem. For the effects of waves on the manoeuvring motion of a ship, only the second order drift forces are considered. The integral equation for the velocity potential is solved by 3 dimensional panel method and hydrodynamic forces are calculated by direct integral method.

The purpose of this research is to identify factors affecting the acceptance and use of e-tax services among medium taxpayers in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The researcher conducted the study based on a quantitative approach by using multi-stage sampling method, which selects a sample size by two or more stages. The first stage sampling was the stratified random sampling and the subsequent stage was purposive sampling. In this study, the stratified random sampling was first used, followed by purposive sampling. The data were collected from 450 medium taxpayers who experienced using e-tax services located in three tax branches in Phnom Penh. This study adapted the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation model (SEM) to analyze the model accuracy, reliability and influence of various variables. The primary result showed that behavioral intention has a significant effect on user behavior of e-tax services among medium taxpayers in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Moreover, the results revealed that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and anxiety have significant impact on behavioral intention. In addition, social influence has the strongest impact on behavioral intention, followed by anxiety, performance expectancy and effort expectancy. Conversely, facilitating conditions, trust in government, and trust in internet do not influence behavioral intention.
In this paper a mathematical model for the prediction of the fire resistance of slim-floor steel beams based on an Artificial Neural Network modeling procedure is presented. The artificial neural network models are trained and tested using an analytical database compiled for this purpose from analytical results based on FEM. The proposed model was selected as the optimum from a plethora of alternatives, employing different activation functions in the context of Artificial Neural Network technique. The performance of the developed model was compared against analytical results, employing several performance indices. It was found that the proposed model achieves remarkably improved predictions of the fire resistance of slim-floor steel beams. Moreover, based on the optimum developed AN model a closed-form equation for the estimation of fire resistance is derived, which can prove a useful tool for researchers and engineers, while at the same time can effectively support the teaching of this subject at an academic level.
Studies were conducted from May, 1993 to April, 1995 to determine the changing patterns of infection Ity the liver fluke, Clonorchis sinensis, among residents and fish hosts in Kyongbuk Province. The infection rate among residents was 7.7% by stool examination. The rate in males (11.3%) was significantly higher than females (4.1%) Positive rate of intradermal test was 27.6% in the same population. The special type of a simple catalytic model was applied for the analysis of intradermal positive reactors by age arid sex, ann the equation was Y= 0.4776 t (1 -e-0.0375t) for mates ann, y : 0.2085 (1-e-0.0138t) for females. Analysis of stool examination data by two-stage catalytic model revealed y : 0.025 (e-0.0047t _ e-0.0235t). The annual Clonorchis infection rate was 4.7 per 1,000 susceptibles and the annual loss rate was 23.5 per 1,000 infected. The frequency distribution by the eggs per gram (EPG) was calculated as well as the cumulative percentages of positives. The regression equations were y : 0.929+ 1.506 log x for males and, y : 0.473 + 1.767 log x for females. Of the 25 fish species, 7 species were infected with Clonorchis mrtacercariae. Infection rates varied by the species, and ranged from 2.8% in Punfun,Bia herzi to 30.0% in Pseudorasbora panic. Average number of the matacercariae per gram of flesh was 58.1 in p. pnnpa, followed by 10.2 in Gncthopogon atromoculntus, 7.0 in Saurosobio dobryj, and 3.0 in Pcrccheilogncthus rhonlben. The present study indicates that clonorchiasis in Kyongbuk Province is less prevalent than that of several decades ago.
The retention behavior of Cot(II)-dithiocarbamate(DTC) chelates in reversed phase high performance liquid chromatography was investigated. Enthalpy and entropy of chelates transfer from the mobile phase to the stationary phase were calculated from retention data using van't Hoff plots. The dependence of In k' on enthalpy was decreased with increasing organic solvent ratio on the mobile phase. The compensation temperatures(${\beta}$) calculated from the slope of $-{\Delta}H^0$ vs In k' were in the range of 756.3-888.5 K. From these results. it was found that the retention mechanism of DTC chelates was invariant under the various temperatures and was largely affected by the solvophobie effect. Liniear relationship between S index and log k' in emprical retention equation, $log\;k^{\prime}=log\;{k_w}^{\prime}-S_{\varphi}$ showed that S index was influenced mainly by the interaction between DTC chelates and the mobile phase.

In the U.S., outdoor enthusiasts such as golfers have been focused on skin cancer prevention practices since their outdoor activities lead to extensive sun exposure during peak sun hours. The purposes of this study were to investigate golfers current sun protection behaviors and five attributes and their impacts on the intention to adopt UV specialized clothing based on Rogers' theory. UV specialized clothing as a preventive innovation is related to sun protection behaviors. However, there has been little effort to explain the intention to adopt a preventive innovation regarding health-related practices. With a convenience sampling method, a total of 158 useful questionnaires were collected. Ninety one percent were male golfers, and their age ranged from 16 to 80 years old(mean age=30 years). About $25\%$ reported to practice sun protection behaviors. About $70\%$ disagreed on the relative advantage, compatibility, observability, and triability of UV specialized shirts and reported the low intention to purchase it. Current sun protection behaviors and five attribute variables were entered in the multiple regression equation to explain the dependent variable of intention to adopt the innovation. Triability was the best predictor of the intention to adopt UV specialized shirts, followed by current sun protection behaviors, compatibility, and relative advantage. With four predictors, $45\%$ of the variance of intention to adopt was explained. The present study provides how the golfers current sun protection behaviors play important roles in explaining the intention to adopt the preventive innovation. Physical and functional features of UV specialized clothing were also significantly associated with their intentions to adopt it.

The longitudinal dynamic instability which can occur in the fueling process of a space launch vehicle is called pogo. It is caused by coupling between the fuselage and propulsion system and they would be formed as a closed-loop system. so that the amplitude of the response may increase or decrease. In this paper, a mathematical model which is applicable to the systematic pogo analysis of a general launch vehicle is developed for an example of space shuttle. The formulations are composed of the linearized second-order differential equation for the propulsion system, and of the pressure, weight displacement, and generalized displacement. Those are important parameters for pogo analysis, are derived through eigenvalue analysis. By the formulation suggested in this paper, it is expected that mathematical modeling method of the pogo system can be obtained and systematic pogo stability analysis for any launch vehicle will be enabled.
Background: Extubation is recommended to be performed at minimum pressure support (PSmin) during the pressure support ventilation (PSV). In field, physicians sometimes perform additional 1 hr T-piece trial to the patient at PSmin to reduce re-intubation risk. Although it provides confirmation of patient's breathing reserve, weaning could be delayed due to increased airway resistance by endotracheal tube. Methods: To investigate the effect of additional 1 hr T-piece trial on weaning outcome, a prospective study was done in consecutive 44 patients who had received mechanical ventilation more than 3 days. Respiratory mechanics, hemodymic, and gas exchange measurements were done and the level of PSmin was calculated using the equation (PSmin=peak inspiratory flow rate $\times$ total ventilatory system resistance) at the 15cm $H_2O$ of pressure support. At PSmin, the patients were randomized into intervention (additional 1 hr T-piece trial) and control (extubation at PSmin). The measurements were repeated at PSmm, during weaning process (in cases of intervention), and after extubation. The weaning success was defined as spontaneous breathing more than 48hr after extubation. In intervention group, failure to continue weaning process was also considered as weaning failure. Results: Thirty-six patients with 42 times weaning trial were satisfied to the protocol. Mean PSmin level was 7.6 (${\pm}1.9$)cm $H_2O$. There were no differences in total ventilation times (TVT), APACHE III score, nutritional indices, and respiratory mechanics at PSmin between 2 groups. The weaning success rate and re-intubation rate were not different between intervention group (55% and 18% in each) and control group (70% and 20% in each) at first weaning trial. Work of breathing, pressure time product, and tidal volume were aggravated during 1 hr T-piece trial compared to those of PSmin in intervention group ($10.4{\pm}1.25$ and $1.66{\pm}1.08$ J/L in work of breathing) ($191{\pm}232$ and $287{\pm}217$cm $H_2O$ s/m in pressure time product) ($0.33{\pm}0.09$ and $0.29{\pm}0.09$ L in tidal volume) (P<0.05 in each). As in whole, TVT, and tidal volume at PSmin were significantly different between the patients with weaning success ($246{\pm}195$ hr, $0.43{\pm}0.11$ L) and the those with weaning failure ($407{\pm}248$ hr, $0.35{\pm}0.10$L) (P<0.05 in each). Conclusion : There were no advantage to weaning outcome by addition of 1 hr T-piece trial compared to prompt extubation to the patient at PS min.
