  • A drone invented for the military has been increased the range of application with the development of relevant technology, and it influences to include the private area. Currently, the use of drone has been increasing in many areas, such as agriculture, unmanned parcel service, production of image contents, and architecture. In 2021, South of Korea, a drone certificate system for drone flight is introduced and on operation. In case of drone flight with the maximum takeoff weight as 2kg or up, the flight experience and practical examination are required, whereas in case of drone lighter than 2kg, the online education qualification is enough to operate it without the flight experience and practical examination. Recently, the drone related accidents have been increasing with the rapidly supply of camera drones with the maximum takeoff weight as less than 2kg. This paper introduces the characteristics of the camera drone to meet burgeoning demand, and discusses an education plan for the camera drone.

  • It takes a lot of time and manpower to search for the missing. As part of the solution, a missing person search AI system was implemented using a YOLO-based model. In order to train object detection models, the model was learned by collecting recognition images (road fixation) of drone mobile objects from AI-Hub. Additional mountainous terrain datasets were also collected to evaluate performance in training datasets and other environments. In order to optimize the missing person search AI system, performance evaluation based on model size and hyperparameters and additional performance evaluation for concerns about overfitting were conducted. As a result of performance evaluation, it was confirmed that the YOLOv5-L model showed excellent performance, and the performance of the model was further improved by applying data augmentation techniques. Since then, the web service has been applied with the YOLOv5-L model that applies data augmentation techniques to increase the efficiency of searching for missing people.

  • Currently, the drone is considered as a mobile base station of USN as a method to act as a base station using USN in existing LTE-M and LTE networks for data transmission in unmanned ships. Therefore, the drone, which is a mobile base station, is a sink node equipped with an LTE modem or a short-range communication modem, and can collect safety information of ship operation from the sensor node and transmit the safety information to the ship or transmit the information between the ships. As, if a short-range network is formed by using drones, it will form a communication network around unmanned ships and will be advantageous for collecting information using security and environmental sensors. In this paper, we propose a method to transmit environmental sensor data and to utilize communication between ships using drones to secure the surrounding information necessary for AI operation of unmanned ships in the future.

  • Along with global interest, drones are expanding the base of utilization such as transportation of goods, forest protection, and safety management, and cluster flights are being applied in various fields such as military operations and environmental monitoring. Currently, specialized networks such as e-UM 5G for services in specific industries are being established in Korea. In this regard, drone systems are also moving to establish specialized networks to provide services that are fused with AI and autonomous flight. As drones converge with various services, various security threats in various environments are also subordinated, and in response, requirements and guidelines for drone security are being prepared in Korea. In this paper, we propose a technology method for peer identification and safe information provision between cluster flight drones by utilizing a cryptographic module equipped with wireless LAN and quantum entropy-based random number generator in a cluster flight system and a mobile communication network such as e-UM 5G.

  • The fourth industrial revolution is the first topic thrown by Klaus Schwab at the Davos World Economic Forum in January 2016, meaning the next industrial revolution led by the Internet of Things (IOT), artificial intelligence (AI), robot technology and life sciences. In addition, in our lives, humans, computers and machines are connected organically, and organic relationships are evolving and developing at a furious rate in all areas of life. Since the 1953 armistice agreement, South Korea has remained in a state of confrontation with North Korea, and there have been continued fighting by the North, including naval skirmishes in the West Sea, artillery attacks on Yeonpyeong Island, the sinking of the Cheonan warship, and unmanned aerial vehicles and ankle mines. To prepare for such a local initiative, our military is constantly preparing and will have to strengthen its combat capabilities by developing and introducing advanced military equipment. After all, the military drone industry linked to the Fourth Industrial Revolution following the development of new war should continue its research on military drones in line with accurate diagnosis and the rapid development of future science and technology and IT technologies.

  • Recently, in the era of the 4th industry, the era of smart agriculture is progressing with the use of related core technologies in the agricultural sector. As a representative example, the use of drones for pest control is increasing, and the use in the agricultural sector is increasing, and the existing control method is being changed by replacing the aging population. However, the importance of control management is increasing due to the increase in agricultural control drones. In this study, various civil complaints are occurring due to the non-standardization of the control operator's work instructions, control area allocation, and control settlement. In this study, we try to resolve civil complaints by computerizing various tasks that occur from the drone control manager's point of view and computerizing them so that they can be managed. Through this, it is intended to manage the control area for large areas and use it as basic data for the development of control management system.
