  • Coconut (Cocos nucifera L) is one of the predominant plantation crops in Sri Lankan economy which is known to have existed for over thousands of years. During the past decades coconut production had been reduced by a significant quantity. The usage of poor quality planting materials is a major reason for the low coconut production. Thus much attention needs to be paid in coconut nurseries. Weed management is a critical management practice in the nursery. Though glyphosate application is becoming popular in nurseries it can affect weeds as well as coconut seedlings growth. Therefore the effects of glyphosate were evaluated by determining the growth of shoot and root of coconut seedlings. Poly bag nursery was prepared and three treatments were used. Treatments were no glyphosate and manual weeding ($T_1$), application of glyphosate 1.08 ai kg $ha^{-1}$ at 2 monthly interval ($T_2$) and application of glyphosate 1.44 ai kg $ha^{-1}$ at 2 monthly interval ($T_3$). Application of glyphosate at early stage of seedling growth had a no significant effect on growth parameters tested. However, the concentrations of glyphosate negatively affected numbers, volumes and dry weights of secondary, tertiary and quaternary roots at the latter stage of seedling growth. The leaf area and the height of seedling were significantly reduced by the highest concentration of glyphosate. Among the growth parameters tested, seedling girth and shoot dry weight were not affected by the application of glyphosate. These results revealed that the usage of glyphosate at both concentrations negatively affected root growth of coconut seedlings. Based on these results, the both concentration levels of glyphosate should be applied to coconut nurseries before sprouting the seed nuts.

  • The amount of digital data a is explosively growing, and these data have large potential values. Countries and companies are creating various added values from vast amounts of data, and are making a lot of investments in data analysis techniques. The privacy problem that occurs in data analysis is a major factor that hinders data utilization. Recently, as privacy violation attacks on neural network models have been proposed. researches on artificial neural network technology that preserves privacy is required. Therefore, various privacy preserving artificial neural network technologies have been studied in the field of differential privacy that ensures strict privacy. However, there are problems that the balance between the accuracy of the neural network model and the privacy budget is not appropriate. In this paper, we study differential privacy techniques that preserve the performance of a model within a given privacy budget and is resistant to model inversion attacks. Also, we analyze the resistance of model inversion attack according to privacy preservation strength.

In other words, the ERP system is an essential strategic element for the survival of a company as a powerful means to innovate the management of an organization. This study analyzed the impact on the utilization of IT·SW from the perspective of the entire organization's process without limiting the performance evaluation of the ERP system itself, which is a core system of a company. The measurement data for evaluating the performance of the ERP system was the 2018 domestic company IT·SW utilization survey result report (subject to survey : 3,017 domestic companies with 10 or more employees). Based on this data, this study analyzed the impact of the ERP system on the entire enterprise's IT·SW utilization. In particular, attention was paid to whether there would be a difference in the use of IT·SW if the type of ERP system introduction was changed through the improvement of the business process of the company. Multiple regression analysis was performed using the statistical package SPSS 25. As a result, among the ERP system introduction types, the greatest degree of (+)influence on the company's IT·SW utilization is when the ERP package SW or ASP service is used as it is. Although the difference is insignificant, the second case was to build an ERP system through self-development or outsourcing, followed by customizing the package SW or system through self-development or outsourcing. Through the results of this study, it is expected that the organization will improve the business process and use the standard ERP package SW as it is without modification, thereby effectively enhancing the use of IT·SW of the company and leading to management performance.

  • With the recent application of deep learning to Natural Language Processing (NLP), the performance of NLP has improved significantly and NLP is emerging as a core competency of organizations. However, when encountering NLP use cases that are sporadically reported through various online and offline channels, it is often difficult to come up with a big picture of how to understand and interpret them or how to connect them to business. This study presents a framework for systematically analyzing NLP use cases, considering the characteristics of NLP techniques applicable to almost all industries and business functions, environmental changes in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and the effectiveness of adopting NLP reflecting all business functional areas. Through solving research questions based on the framework, the usefulness of it is validated. First, by accumulating NLP use cases and pivoting them around the business function dimension, we derive how NLP techniques are used in each business functional area. Next, by synthesizing related surveys and reports to the accumulated use cases, we draw implications for each business function and major NLP techniques. This work promotes the creation of innovative business scenarios and provides multilateral implications for the adoption of NLP by systematically viewing NLP techniques, industries, and business functional areas. The use case analysis framework proposed in this study presents a new perspective for research on new technology use cases. It also helps explore strategies that can dramatically improve organizational performance through a holistic approach that encompasses all business functional areas.

  • Flavor is an important sensory trait of chicken meat. The free amino acid (FAA) and nucleotide (NT) components of meat are major factors affecting meat flavor during the cooking process. As a genetic approach to improve meat flavor, we performed a genome-wide association study (GWAS) to identify the potential candidate genes related to the FAA and NT components of chicken breast meat. Measurements of FAA and NT components were recorded at the age of 10 weeks from 764 and 767 birds, respectively, using a White leghorn and Yeonsan ogye crossbred F2 chicken population. For genotyping, we used 60K Illumina single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) chips. We found a total of nine significant SNPs for five FAA traits (arginine, glycine, lysine, threonine content, and the essential FAAs and one NT trait (inosine content), and six significant genomic regions were identified, including three regions shared among the essential FAAs, arginine, and inosine content traits. A list of potential candidate genes in significant genomic regions was detected, including the KCNRG, KCNIP4, HOXA3, THSD7B, and MMUT genes. The essential FAAs had significant gene regions the same as arginine. The genes related to arginine content were involved in nitric oxide metabolism, while the inosine content was possibly affected by insulin activity. Moreover, the threonine content could be related to methylmalonyl-CoA mutase. The genes and SNPs identified in this study might be useful markers in chicken selection and breeding for chicken meat flavor.
