  • VOIP 엑세스 게이트웨이는 원활한 VOIP 서비스를 위해 높은 호 처리 능력을 가져야 한다. 또한 여러 가지 VOIP 프로토콜을 지원 가능하여야 하고, 고품질 서비스를 위한 QoS 기능과 고신뢰성 및 고가용성을 가져야 하는 등 각종 요구사항을 만족하여야 한다. 본 논문에서는 일반적인 VOIP 엑세스 게이트웨이의 요구사항을 살펴보고, 하드웨어 블록 구조를 설명한 후, 높은 호 처리 성능을 가지면서 확장 및 변경 가능한 소프트웨어 구조를 설계하고 구현하였다.

Spatial Analysis on Marine Atmosphere Boundary Layer Features of SAR Imagery Using Empirical Mode Decomposition

  • A new method to decompose the footprints of marine atmosphere boundary layer (MABL) on Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery into characteristic spatial scales is proposed. Using two-dimensional Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) we obtain three Intrinsic Mode Functions (IMFs), which mainly present longitudinal rolls, three-dimensional cells and atmospheric gravity waves (AGW). The rolls and cells have spatial scales between 3.0 km and 3.8 km and between 5.3 km and 7.1 km, respectively. Based on previous observations and mixed-layer similarity theory, we estimated MABL's depths that vary from 0.95 km to 1.2 km over the rolls and from 3.0 km to 3.8 km over the cells. The AGW has maximum spectrum at 14.3 km wavelength. The method developed in this work can be used to decompose other satellite imageries into individual features through characteristic spatial scales.

  • 미래의 통신망 구조인 NGN(Next Generation)으로의 이행을 위하여 현재의 방대한 PSTN(Public Switched Telephone Network) 인프라를 한번에 모두 교체할 수 없으므로 신설되는 VoIP(Voice on IP) 기반의 네트워크와 기존의 PSTN이 상호 연동되는 과도기적 과정으로 Pre NGN이 제안되고 있으나 SS7(Signaling System No 7)을 기반으로 하고 있어 아직도 상당수를 차지하는 SD(Space Division) 교환기의 교체는 불가피한 것으로 보인다. 본 논문에서는 SD 교환기를 TD(Time Division) 교환기로 교체하기보다는 미래의 NGN을 지향하며 소요비용의 절감을 위하여 Soft Switch기능을 보유한 AGW(Access Gate Way)로의 교체를 제안하고 현재의 망에서 필요한 기능 및 조건을 제시 하였다.

The Study of Voice Traffic Comparison From PSTN with the BcN after converting (PSTN에서 BcN으로 전환 후 음성 트래픽 비교에 관한 연구)

  • 미래 지식정보사회는 컴퓨터, 통신, 방송 등 모든 정보통신 기기가 하나의 네트워크에 연결되는 BcN 기반의 네트워크사회(Broadband Network Society)로 빠르게 진화할 전망이다. BeN은 엑세스망, IP전달망, 제어/서비스망(교환망 IP전환)의 3개 계층을 모두 포함하는 개념이나 엑세스망, IP전달망은 기존과 통일한 IP방식으로 추진 중이어서 IP기반의 제어/서비스망 신규 구축 및 교환망의 IP로의 전환을 협의의 BcN이라 정의 한다. PSTN에서 BcN망으로 전환 시 BeN망의 구성 요소는 소프트스위치, TGW, AGW, SGW, 응용서버, 미디어서버 등이 있다. PSTN망이 BcN망으로 전환시 크게 3단계의 과정을 거친다. 1단계로 2007년 상반기에 전남 목포지역의 지능망 서비스가 불가한 시외교환기가 BcN으로 전환되었다. 전환 후의 IP망을 경유하는 음성호의 트래픽을 측정한 결과는 발생호는 증가하였으며 완료율은0.06% 감소하였지만 관리 기준내의 양호한 수준이었다. 향후 음성호의 통화 품질을 높이기 위해서 품질 측정을 통한 기준 미달 항목을 조치하고 트래픽 측정을 통한 소통율, 완료율 불량 구간에 대한 지속적인 개선 활동을 해야 한다.

  • In this paper, we consider the military requirement, study the military network services and their related traffic parameters, evaluate the performance the experimental army network and then suggest the design guideline of applying VoIP to the whole military. We evaluate the performance of the delay and loss in the viewpoint of packet and call levels for the several scenarios. First, the performances of separate network service were considered and the satisfaction of the requirement was obtained. Secondly, the delays and losses of the integrated network services were calculated as the amount of the background traffic increases. Finally, based on the simulation results, we presented the design guideline which classified network configurations for applying VoIP equipment and helped estimate the number of VoIP terminals in the existing link.

  • In this paper we proposea method for estimating the bandwidth in next-generation If network. Especially, we concentrate on the edge routers accommodating the VoIP connections as well as a group of data connections. Bandwidth dimensioning is carried out at call level and packet level for voice traffic in the next-generation IP network. The model incorporates the statistical estimation approach at a call level for obtaining the number of voice connections simultaneously in the active mode. The call level model incorporates a statistical technique to compute the statistics of the number of active connections such as the mean and variance of the simultaneously connected calls in the network. The packet level model represents a load map for voice and data traffic by using non-preemptive M/G/1 queuing model with strict priority for voice over data buffer, From the proposed traffic model, we can derive a graph for upper bounds on the traffic load in terms of bandwidth for voice and data connections. Via numerical experiments we illustrate the implication of the work.

Number of External Anogenital Warts is Associated with the Occurrence of Abnormal Cervical Cytology

  • Background: Anogenital warts (AGWs) are common results of sexually transmitted infection (STI). Human papillomavirus (HPV) types 6 and 11, which are non-oncogenic types, account for 90% of the clinical manifestations. Although the quadrivalent HPV vaccine has been launched, AGW remains prevalent in some countries and shows association with abnormal cervical cytology. Objectives: To study the prevalence of abnormal cervical cytology (low grade squamous intraepithelial lesions or worse; LSIL+) in immunocompetent Thai women newly presenting with external AGWs. Materials and Methods: Medical charts of all women attending Siriraj STI clinic during 2007-2011 were reviewed. Only women presenting with external AGWs who were not immunocompromised (pregnant, human immunodeficiency virus positive or being on immunosuppressant drugs) and had not been diagnosed with cervical cancer were included into the study. Multivariate analysis was used to determine the association between the characteristics of the patients and those of AGWs and LSIL+. Results: A total of 191 women were eligible, with a mean age of $27.0{\pm}8.9$ years; and a mean body mass index of $20.6{\pm}8.9kg/m^2$. Half of them finished university. The most common type of AGWs was exophytic (80.1%). The posterior fourchette appeared to be the most common affected site of the warts (31.9%), followed by labia minora (26.6%) and mons pubis (19.9%). The median number of lesions was 3 (range 1-20). Around 40% of them had recurrent warts within 6 months after completing the treatment. The prevalence of LSIL+ at the first visit was 16.3% (LSIL 12.6%, ASC-H 1.1%, HSIL 2.6%). After adjusting for age, parity and miscarriage, number of warts ${\geq}5$ was the only factor associated with LSIL+(aOR 2.65, 95%CI 1.11-6.29, p 0.027). Conclusions: LSIL+ is prevalent among immunocompetent Thai women presenting with external AGWs, especially those with multiple lesions.

Cr(VI) Removal from Artificial Groundwater by Granular Activated Carbon and Regeneration of the Spent Carbon (입상활성탄을 이용한 인공 조제 지하수내의 Cr(VI) 제거와 그 활성탄의 재생)

  • Removal of hexavalent chromium from artificial groundwater (AGW) by granular activated carbon (GAC) was investigated in batch and continuous-flow column studies. Experimental parameters that were examined included solution pH, presence of dissolved oxygen (DO), and GAC pretreatment with Fe(II). As the solution pH increased from 4 to 7.5, the amount of Cr(VI) removed by both GACs decreased significantly. Exclusion of DO from the experimental systems resulted in greater removal of Cr(VI) from solution, possibly as a result of reduction to Cr(III). However, pretreatment of the GAC with a reductant (Fe(II)) did not improve Cr(VI) removal. Equilibration With 0.01 M $K_2$$HPO_4$[to extract adsorbed Cr(VI)] followed by a wash with 0.02 N $K_2$$HPO_4$[to remove precipitated/sorbed Cr(III)] proved to be a viable approach for the regeneration of carbons whose Cr(VI) removal capacities had been exhausted. The performance of the regenerated carbons exceeded that of the virgin carbons, primarily because of the favorable adsorption of Cr(VI) at lower pH values and the reduction of Cr(VI) to Cr(III), The presence of Cr(III) in acid wash solutions provides direct evidence that Cr(VI) is reduced to Cr(III) in GAC systems under relatively acidic conditions. GAC performance over five complete cycles was consistently high, which suggests that such a system will be able to function over many operation cycles without deleterious effects.
