Torpedo defense system research using HMS(Hull Mount Sonar) of PCC(Patrol Combat Corvette) (초계함용 HMS(Hull Mount Sonar)를 이용한 어뢰방어시스템 연구)

  • HMS(Hull Mount Sonar) equipment mounted on PCC(Patrol Combat Corvette) is suitably designed for active mode, and the specific character of sensor or system is not appropriate for the frequency range to detect a torpedo. In this article, in order to implement the function of detecting torpedoes with HMS of existing PCC, I will analyze the feature of input signals each PCCs and design a circuit to compensate reversely for the input signal in certain frequency. And also, I will suggest the most adequate torpedo defense system suitable for the special operating environment and the characteristic of naval vessels, implementing functions such as AGC of input signal and fixing the frequency range of different input signals per different warships.

  • In case of minimized digital camera and mobile digital camera, it's difficult to get the high quality image by conventional AE(Auto Exposure) algorithm because of restriction of system organization. In this paper, a new algorithm that adopts a target setting, a compensation of feedback delay and a gamma correction, etc, are suggested for improving a noise increase and an output sensitivity decrease due to system minimization. We also suggest a method using fuzzy logic which can decide more effectively the ES(Electric Shutter) value and the AGC(Analog Gain Control) value than conventional system.

  • 소형 LD 구동 장치를 개발하고, 그 성능을 평가하였다. 개발된 장치는 사용 및 이동이 편리하도록 소형으로 제작되었으며, 안정적인 LD의 구동을 위해 AGC(Auto Gain Control) 및 APC(Auto Power Control)를 적용하였다. 개발된 장치의 LD구동전류 안정도는 $100{\mu}AmA$ 이내로 레이저 광 출력 안정도는 0.07mW이하로 안정된 구동 성능을 나타내었다.

  • 비접촉 방식인 광 삼각측량법(optic triangulation method)에 의한 고정도 변위센서를 반도체 레이저 다이오드와 리니어 CCD를 이용하여 구현하였다. 개발한 고유의 알고리듬을 채용하여 측정 분해능 보다 적은 CCD pixel(256 pixel)로 고분해능(2,560분해능, $4{\mu}m$)을 실현함으로써, 결과적으로 저가이며 소형의 고정도 변위센서를 개발하였다. 또 검출물체의 색상이나 재질에 따른 검출특성의 현저한 차이를 보상하기 위하여 LFTC(laser flash time control)과 AGC(auto gain control)을 적용하여 안정된 검출결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 개발된 변위센서의 특성은 다음과 같다. 측정 거리:30mm, 유효측정 범위: -5.09${\sim}$5.10mm, 분해능:4um, 직선성:${\pm}1%$.

  • 본 논문에서는 VHF대역 기지국용 전력증폭기에 대해 입력레벨이 $0dBm{\pm}1 dB$, 출력이 $45dBm{\pm}1dB$인 증폭기를 모듈화 하여 설계하고 제작 및 측정하였다. 출력 레벨 제어는 Pin Diode 감쇄기를 이용하여 Dynamic Range 40dB 내에서 5단계로 전력제어가 가능하고 입력레벨이 $-4{\sim}0dBm$로 변동될 때 AGC(Auto Gain Control) 회로가 동작 되도록 설계하였다.

Adaptive Denoising for Low Light Level Environment Using Frequency Domain Analysis (주파수 해석에 따른 저조도 환경의 적응적 잡음제거)

  • When a CCD camera acquires images in the low light level environment, not only the image signals but also noise components are amplified by the AGC (auto gain control) circuit. Since the noise level in the images acquired in the dark is very high, it is difficult to remove noise with existing denoising algorithms that are targeting the images taken in the normal light condition. In this paper, we proposed an adaptive denoising algorithm that can efficiently remove significant noises caused by the low light level. First, the window including a target pixel is transformed to the frequency domain. Then the algorithm compares the characteristics of equally divided four frequency bands. Finally the noises are adaptively removed according to the frequency characteristics. The proposed algorithm successfully improves the quality of low light level images than the existing algorithms do.

  • $112^{\circ}$ rot. x-cut $LiTaO_{3}$ wafer was used as the substrate of SAW gas sensor. Dual delay line SAW device with IDTs which consist of the reference delay line and the sensing delay line was fabricated using photolithigraphy. Each IDTs had 10 finger pairs and finger spacing is 10 microns. One delay line channel is the reference, while the second is the sensing channel with Pb-phthalocyanine film in the propagation path. Pb-phthalocyanine film which is p-type organic semiconductor was evaporated in $10^{-5}$ torr vacuum using shadow mask selectively. Dual delay line oscillator was constructed by using the rf amplifier and AGC. Frequency of the IDTs had the range of $87{\sim}$89 MHz oscillation frequency. Oscillation frequency shifts were investigated as a function of the temperature and the concentration of $NO_{2}$ gas.

  • In this paper, the UWB(Ultra-Wide Band) modules such as a pulse generator and the LNA(Low-Noise Amplifier) with AGC(Auto Gain Control) are designed to construct a cross-borehole pulse radar system, of which performance is compared with the existing system. The budget and specification of the radar system are determined by calculating the total path loss of the underground medium including an empty cavity. The pulse generator is fabricated to have the repeatation frequency 40 kHz, the pulse width lower than 5 ns and the peak signal level +73 dBm. The UWB LNA is designed to have the noise figure 3.77 dB, the variable gain range 100 dB and the frequency range of 20 MHz to 200 MHz. Compared with the existing system in an actual test site, the implemented system renders it possible to detect the blind area due to the UWB LNA with low noise figure.

A SNR Estimation Algorithm for Digital Satellite Transponder (디지털 위성트랜스폰더를 위한 SNR 추정 알고리즘)

  • In the initial stage of the communications between a base station and a satellite transponder, the base station transmits the frequency-sweeping un-modulated up-link carrier within a certain frequency range to acquire the doppler frequency shift and signal power between the base station and the satellite in orbital flight. The satellite transponder acquires and tracks the carrier in order to initialize the communication. To control such initialization process, the satellite receiver should analyze the input carrier signal in various ways. This paper presents an SNR estimation algorithm to control the initialization process. The proposed algorithm converts the input signal into the baseband polar coordinate representation and estimates the SNR via the statistics of the angular signal components as well as the status parameters to control the receiver. The Monte-Carlo simulations shows the validity of the estimation proposed.
