A Study on the Heat Transfer Analysis and Thermal Stress Analysis of Mass Concrete Structure by Finite Element Method (유한요소법을 이용한 매스콘크리트구조물의 수화열 및 온도응력 해석에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, a program for evaluation of heat transfer and thermal stress of mass concrete is developed and verified by 2-experiments (internally and externally restricted). Furthermore, the result of the program is compared with those of ADINA-T and ADINA. As a result of the comparison, the proposed method produces comparable results with those from the popular programs (ADIIVA-T and ADINA) and shows the usefulness of the developed program for the evaluation of thermal stresses of mass concrete in both internally and externally restricted structures.

  • In this paper, the finite element analysis using ADINA has performed to investigate an accident that a man's head was damaged by the falling object. The simulation condition has defined by the point of forensic medicine view and the CCTV image analysis. From the CCTV image analysis, we expected that the sphere diameter of object is 15cm and object color is white. Assuming the falling mass is the ice mass, the results of the ADINA simulation show that a man's head can be broken by the falling ice mass.

Structural Behavior of Composite Basement Wall According to Shear Span-to-Depth Ratio and FE Analysis Considering the Condition of Contact Surface (전단경간비에 따른 합성지하벽의 거동과 접촉면의 조건을 고려한 유한요소 해석)

  • The objective of this paper is to study the structural behavior of Composite Basement Wall (CBW) according to shear span-to-depth ratio through an experiment and predict the nonlinear behavior of CBW by using ADINA program widely has been being used for FE analysis. Especially, this study focuses on the part of CBW in which the Reinforced Concrete (RC) is under compression stress; At the region of CBW around each floor, RC part stresses by compressive force when lateral press by soil acts on the wall. The contact condition between RC wall and steel (H-Pile) including stud connector is main factor in the analysis since it governs overall structural behavior. In order to understand the structural behavior of CBW whose RC part is under compressive stress, an experimental work and finite element analysis were performed. Main parameter in the test is shear span-to-depth ratio. For simplicity in analysis, reinforcements were not modeled as a seperated element but idealized as smeared to concrete. All elements were modeled to have bi-linear relation of material properties. Three type of contact conditions such as All Generate Option (AGO), Same Element Group Option with Tie(SEGO-T) and Same Element Group Option with Not tie(SEGO-NT) were considered in the analysis. For each analysis, the stress flow and concentration were reviewed and analysis result was compared to test one. From the test result, CBW represented ductile behavior by contribution of steel member even if it had short shear span-to-depth ration which is close to "1". The global composite behavior of CBW whose concrete wall was under compressive stress could be predicted by using contact element in ADINA program. Especially, the modeling by using AGO and SEGO-T showed more close relation on comparing with test result.

  • Recently, a wide variety of simulation techniques such as structure analysis and structure-fluid interaction analysis are being employed in the field of forensic engineering for resolving the problem of legal liability for accidents and disasters. In this study, we performed a forensic engineering investigation of a sinking accident of a DCM (deep cement mixing) vessel. The accident vessel was built as a dedicated SCP (sand compaction pile) vessel at the time of vessel building, and the DCM vessel was structurally modified, e.g., by increasing the leader height and constructing for leader expansion, without a stability review. To determine the effects of expansion and modification of structures in this sinking accident, structural stability evaluation was performed using commercial software for structural analysis, ADINA software. Through an analysis and comparison of simulation results obtained using ADINA software with the results of the structural modification and expansion, we could determine the exact cause of the sinking accident of the DCM vessel.

A Study Shear Behavior of Reinforced Concrete Beams Mixed Steel Fiber (강섬유(鋼纖維)를 혼입(混入)한 철근(鐵筋)콘크리트 보의 전단학동(剪斷學動)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • Recently the use of steel fibers has been increased in flexural members and columns of concrete structures subjected to cyclic loadings; such as bridge decks, highway roads, runway of airport, buildings, etc.. However only a few experimental tests have been carried out under fatigue loading. In the present study, the reinforced concrete beams with 1% and 2% steel fiber volume fraction are investigated with and without stirrups. It has been found that in fatigue tests, the failure of the beam is usually due to breaking of fibers rather than fiber pull-out. A comparison of experiments and numerical analysis using the nonlinear F.E.M. program (ADINA) is also presented herein.

  • 본 논문의목적은 단조증가하중을 받는 강판 및 탄소섬유 sheet 로 보강된 철근콘크리트 단순보의 역학적 거동특성을 규명하기 위한 것이다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 단부응력해석이 고려된 비선형 해석프로그램을 개발하였으며, 적용된 재료비선형모델은 콘크리트인 경우 tensile strain softening이 고려된 응력-변형율선도, 철근과 강판에 대해서는 bilinear 모델, 그리고 탄소섬유 sheet에 대해서는 완전탄성체의 모델이 적용되었다. Debonding 에 대해서는 보강재 단부의 전단응력에 의한 콘크리트박리하중을 Roberts의 해석적방법을 수정하여 계산하였다. 또한 개발된 프로그램은 실험결과 및 ADINA에 의한 해석결과와 비교하였으며, 보강단면 등에 따른 거동을 잘 예측하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • This paper deals with the free vibration of horizontally curved beams with transition currie. Based on the dynamic equilibrium equations of a curved beam element subjected to the stress resultants and inertia forces, the governing differential equations are derived for the out-of-plane vibration of curved beam with variable curvature. These equations are applied to the beam having transition curve in which the clothiod curve is chosen in this study. The differential equations are solved by the numerical methods lot calculating the natural frequencies and mode shapes. For verifying theories developed herein, the frequency parameters obtained from this studs and ADINA are compared with each other. As the numerical results, the various parametric studies effecting on natural frequencies are investigated and those results are presented in tables and figures.

p-Version Elasto-Plastic Finite Element Analysis by Incremental Theory of Plasticity (증분소성이론에 의한 p-Version 탄소성 유한요소해석)

  • The high precision analysis by the p-version of the finite element method are fairly well established as highly efficient method for linear elastic problems, especially in the presence of stress singularity. It has been noted that the merits of the p-version are accuracy, modeling simplicity, robustness, and savings in user's and CPU time. However, little has been done to exploit their benefits in elasto-plastic analysis. In this paper, the p-version finite element model is proposed for the materially nonlinear analysis that is based on the incremental theory of plasticity using the constitutive equation for work-hardening materials, and the associated flow rule. To obtain the solution of nonlinear equation, the Newton-Raphson method and initial stiffness method, etc are used. Several numerical examples are tested with the help of the square plates with cutout, the thick-walled cylinder under internal pressure, and the circular plate with uniformly distributed load. Those results are compared with the theoretical solutions and the numerical solutions of ADINA

  • 선형탄성이론을 기초로 한 구조해석의 경우 사용하중상태에서의 변형과 응력은 만족할 만한 결과를 나타내지만, 항복후의 처짐과 파괴시의 극한하중 산정의 정확한 해석이 불가능하다. 평판의 극한해석시, 상한계 이론을 바탕으로 한 항복선 이론이 널리 사용되고 있으나 이론적으로 평판의 강도를 과대평가하게 된다. 그러므로, 임의의 하중조건과 경계조건에 대한 비선형 거동과 극한내하력을 산정할 수 있는 해석기법이 필요하다. 평판의 정확한 극한하중을 위해 p-Version 유한요소법을 제안하며, p-Version의 해석치를 범용 구조해석 프로그램인 ADINA의 결과와 문헌의 이론치와 비교하였다.
