Recently sloshing that fluid in fuel tank is undulating by the external force during motion of automobile, ship and aircraft is greatly affecting by damaging the inside of structure. It's most important to precisely analyze the behavior of fluid by computational fluid dynamics for minimizing the effect of sloshing for the loaded fuel. This study characterized volume of fluid and pressure according to the length and number of vertical baffle and horizontal baffle in fuel tank for Kia Frontier cargo and analyzed for reduction of sloshing during driving on corner and hill by using ADINA-CFD. As a result of analysis, the optimum length for sloshing reduction shows 0.19 m for vertical baffle and 0.08 m for horizontal baffle. And it shows that vertical baffle is better for the reduction effect of sloshing during driving on corners, on the other hand, horizontal baffle is effective and stable during driving on hills.

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) should be designed to be as small and lightweight as possible to optimize the efficiency of changing the blade shape to enhance the aerodynamic performance, such as the thrust and power. In this study, a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation of an unmanned multi-rotor aerial vehicle in hover mode was performed to explore the thrust performance in terms of the blade rotational speed and blade shape parameters (i.e., taper ratio and twist angle). The commercial ADINA-CFD program was used to generate the CFD data, and the results were compared with those obtained from blade element theory (BET). The results showed that changes in the blade shape clearly affect the aerodynamic thrust of a UAV rotor blade.
The high precision analysis by the p-version of the finite element method are fairly well established as highly efficient method for linear elastic problems, especially in the presence of stress singularity. It has been noted that the merits of the p-version are accuracy, modeling simplicity, robustness, and savings in user's and CPU time. However, little has been done to exploit their benefits in elasto-plastic analysis. In this paper, the p-version finite element model is proposed for the materially nonlinear analysis that is based on the incremental theory of plasticity using the constitutive equation for work-hardening materials, and the associated flow rule. To obtain the solution of nonlinear equation, the Newton-Raphson method and initial stiffness method, etc are used. Several numerical examples are tested with the help of the square plates with cutout, the thick-walled cylinder under internal pressure, and the circular plate with uniformly distributed load. Those results are compared with the theoretical solutions and the numerical solutions of ADINA

In this study, an improved finite element formulation with a scheme of solution for the large deflection analysis of inextensible prismatic and nonprismatic slender beams is developed. For this purpose, a three-noded Lagrangian beam-element with two dependent degrees of freedom per node (i.e., the vertical displacement, y, and the actual slope, $dy/ds=sin{\theta}$, where s is the curved coordinate along the deflected beam) is used to derive the element stiffness matrix. The element stiffness matrix in the global xy-coordinate system is achieved by means of coordinate transformation of a highly nonlinear ($6{\times}6$) element matrix in the local sy-coordinate. Because of bending with large curvature, highly nonlinear expressions are developed within the global stiffness matrix. To achieve the solution after specifying the proper loading and boundary conditions, an iterative quasi-linearization technique with successive corrections are employed considering these nonlinear expressions to remain constant during all iterations of the solution. In order to verify the validity and the accuracy of this study, the vertical and the horizontal displacements of prismatic and nonprismatic beams subjected to various cases of loading and boundary conditions are evaluated and compared with analytic solutions and numerical results by available references and the results by ADINA, and excellent agreements were achieved. The main advantage of the present technique is that the solution is directly obtained, i.e., non-incremental approach, using few iterations (3 to 6 iterations) and without the need to split the stiffness matrix into elastic and geometric matrices.
In this study, we Presented computational results on the blood flow in the sac of the Korean artificial heart. Two dimensional unsteady flow was assumed and we utilized a finite element commercial code ADINA to simulate the blood flow. Rigid body-solid contact were considered between the actuator and the blood sac and fluid-structure interaction between the blood and the sac. The three geometric models proposed in the design process were simulated to assess the hemodynamic characteristics of the models According to the computational results, a strong flow to the outlet and a stagnated flow region near the inlet were observed during systole. The sac was filled with blood and recirculating flow was generated near the outlet during diastole. Shear stress during systole had its extreme values near the outlet edge whereas the magnitude of shear stress values were relative)v high near the inlet edge and the contacting surface with the actuator.

This paper deals with the boundary conditions of the stress resultants at the mid-arc for free vibration analyses of the arch. The considered arch is a horseshoe symmetric elliptic arch. The work dealing with the boundary conditions of the deflection at both ends of the arch has already been reported in the open literature. This revisited paper aims to study the suitability of the boundary conditions of the stress resultants at the mid-arc to be replaced by the boundary condition at both ends. In this study, the boundary conditions of the stress resultants at the mid-arc are newly derived based on the theory of the previous work, and natural frequencies and mode shapes are obtained using the new boundary conditions of the stress resultants. The numerical results of this paper confirm that the new boundary conditions have been validated according to previous studies and results of finite element ADINA.
The present study deals with the results of a thermo-fluid analysis applied to the cooling plate of the water cooling system developed for IGBT stacks, which was designed to keep the power semi-conductors from over heating problems. The cooling plate is to absorb a maximum quantity of 10kW from 4 IGBTs which are to be placed on both sides of the cooling plate, 2 IGBTs of them on each surface. For the analysis, Adina of CFD Program was used and an analysis was conducted to obtain the knowledges on heat and mass flow at both the plate and fluid flow inside. For the simulation, the operational conditions of a temperature difference of $15^{\circ}C$ for the working fluid and a uniform heat flux of about 92000 $W/m^2$ on the surface in contact with an IGBTs.

Elasto-plastic and Visco-elastic sytress analyses were conducted for standard cross-section of subway tunnel in Seoul . Considering the procedure of excavation and reinforcement, excavated region was divided to multiple elements. And the progress of tunnel is simulated to be the removal of a series of layerd elements by means of diminishing the stiffness of the portion progressively. Another method is to be free of stress due to excavation instead of stiffness. In the analysis multiple element method was conducted with ADINA program, the stiffness removal method was adopted . For the same model, stress release method was carried out with Visco-Elastic Analysis program developed in Rock mechanics laboratory, Seoul National University(SNU-VBA) . When upper tunnel excavated, displacements in roof were same for two results, but when bottom tunnel removed completely , displacement changes of rock in the stress release method exhibited very small amount compared with stiffness removal method.

Seismic analysis of liquid storage structures is carried out by utilizing 2-dimensional fluid elements of a general purpose structural analysis computer program(ADINA), The present analysis focuses on the effects of the wall flexibility and the sloshing of the free water surface. Due considerations are given to the facts that the fluid has no shear resistance and the free surface motion is subjected to the gravity effect. To validate the present method using 2-dimensional fluid elements, the results of several example cases are compared with those by the Housner's approach for rigid wall case, and with those by the Eulerian formulation for flexible wall case.

The ordinary differential equations governing free vibrations of elastic horizontally curved beams are derived, in which the effect of shear deformation as well as the effects of vertical, rotatory and torsional inertias are included. Frequencies and mode shapes are computed numerically for parabolic curved beams with the hinged-hinged, hinged-clamped and clamped-clamped ends. Comparisons of natural frequencies between this study and ADINA are made to validate the theories and numerical methods developed herein. The lowest three natural frequency parameters are reported, with and without the effect of shear deformation, as functions of the three non-dimensional system parameters: the horizontal rise to span length ratio, the slenderness ratio and the stiffness parameter.
