  • This paper analyze the interference problems, especially Ac corrosion when the gas pipeline is buried with power cable in the same submarine tunnel. This paper present the results of the study about interference mechanism(inductive coupling, conductive coupling, resistive coupling), AC corrosion, limitation of safety voltage, modeling of power cables, gas pipeline and grounding systems, analysis of induction voltage and optimal arrangement of power cables.

  • Recently, the performance of the commercial PCS(Personal Communication Service) system has been improved to the uppermost limit and ultimately the next generation mobile communication is to be realized by IMT-2000 (International Mobile Communication-2000) to provide multimedia services. Therefore, the new type receiving system is researched actively and one of the most important part in a receiver is direct conversion method. The direct conversion method is suitable for low power consumption, small size, MMIC, and low price, which is to be adopted to the next generation mobile communication systems. In this case, however, several problems occur due to DC-offset. The DC-offset suppresses amplification of the required signal because of the leakage signal of frequency synthesizer in the system. In this thesis, the removing method of DC-offset was considered. There are four removing techniques of DC-offset, which are AC-coupling, large capacitor, DC-feedback loop, and DC-free coding. Among these, the AC-coupling method is the most simplest method and the DC-feedback loop method has the best performance. Then, the performance of the AC-coupling method and DC-feedback loop method are evaluated by HP's ADS simulation tool. As a result, the AC-coupling method cannot be used to the digital communication systems due to data loss. On the other hand, it was confirmed that the DC-feedback loop method is suitable for the direct conversion receiver.

  • The implemetation of the AC and DC lines on the same transmission tower is an economical and practical approaching that increase the power transmission capacity of an existing transmission corridor. But, In this case, Inductive and capacitive coupling between AC and DC lines on the same tower should be investigated in advance. According to the installation plan of ${\pm}80kV$ 60MW bipole HVDC in Jeju island, KOREA that will be commissioned until 2011, DC lines will parallely operate with 154kV 2 AC lines in existed 154kV AC 4 lines transmission tower. This paper presents the transient analysis results about the interaction between 154kV AC and 80kV DC lines in the same transmission tower.

  • It is important to predict AC loss in $Nb_3Sn$ and NbTi cable-in-conduit-conductor (CICC) reliably for the design and operation of large superconducting coils. The hysteresis loss in the superconducting filaments and coupling loss within strands and among strands in a cable or composite are dominant ac losses in superconducting magnets. The coupling loss in a superconductor can be characterized by identifying the coupling constant time $n{\tau}$. To reduce the coupling loss, all the strands (superconductor and Cu) in KSTAR (Korea Superconducting Tokamak Advance Research) are chromium plated with thickness of $l{\pm}0.5{\mu}m$. The ac losses of PF1, PF5 and PF6 coils has been measured by calorimetric method while applying trapezoidal current pulses with various ramp rate from 0.5 kA/s to 2 kA/s. The coupling time constants for $Nb_3Sn$ coils are $25{\sim}55$ ms and the values are not co-related with the coil size, the time constants for NbTi coil is 30 ms.

Effects of Ac Mutual Coupling According to Location of Auxiliary Electrodes In Measuring the Ground Impedance of Vertically or Horizontally Buried Ground Electrode (수직 또는 수평으로 매설된 접지전극의 접지임피던스 측정시 보조전극 위치에 따른 전자유도의 영향)

  • In order to minimize ac mutual coupling, the auxiliary electrode are located at a right angle in measuring ground impedance. In case that the measurement space is limited, the alternative method is employed. At that time, it is necessary to investigate the measurement errors due to ac mutual coupling and earth mutual resistance in measuring the ground impedances. 'This paper presents the measurement accuracy according to the location of the current and potential auxiliary electrodes in measuring ground impedance of vertically or horizontally buried ground electrode. The measurement errors due to ac mutual coupling were evaluated Consequently, the effect of ac mutual coupling on the measurement accuracy for horizontally buried ground electrode is greater than that for vertically buried ground electrode. Measurement errors due to ac mutual coupling is the largest when the current and potential auxiliary electrodes are located in parallel. The 61.8[%] rule is inappropriate in measuring ground measurement. Theoretically, in case that the angle between the current and potential auxiliary electrodes is 90$[^{\circ}]$, there is no ac mutual coupling. If it is not possible to route the current and potential auxiliary electrodes at a right angle with limitation of measurement space, the location of these electrodes with an obtuse angle is preferred to that with an acute angle in reducing the measurement errors due to ac mutual coupling.

  • 본 논문은 2011년 제주계통 한림변전소와 금악변환소 사이에 설치 예정인 ${\pm}80kV$ 60MW HVDC 시스템의 DC 가공선로를 기존의 AC 송전 철탑의 AC 선로와 병렬로 추가하여 운영할 때 선로 Coupling에 따른 정상상태 영향을 분석한 내용이다. 한림변전소와 금악변환소 사이 철탑 17개의 데이터를 기반으로 송전선로를 모델링함으로써 실제 데이터에 최대한 근접할 수 있도록 정확성을 도모하였으며, 모델링과 분석에 있어서 전자계과도현상 해석프로그램인 PSCAD를 이용하였다. 특히 AC 병렬 연계 유무에 따른 DC 전류 주파수를 비교함으로써 AC/DC Coupling의 영향을 분석하였으며 최종적으로 이에 따른 기본파 성분 제거에 필요한 DC 필터 설치 유무에 관한 결론을 도출하였다.

  • Direct-conversion receiver(DCR) architecture has superior advantages in size, cost, and power over superheterodyne receiver architectures. However, the use of direct-conversion receiver architecture has been limited due to the direct-current offset noise. The ac coupling, which is used to overcome the direct-current offset noise, causes an inter-symbol interference(ISI), whose effects can be effectively mitigated using an equalizer. In this paper, the performance of a direct-conversion receiver with ac coupling in the presence of direct-current offset is analyzed via computer simulation. The simulation result shows that by using decision feedback equalizer with LMS(Least Mean Square) algorithm, signal-to-noise ratio loss of the direct-conversion receiver compared to the idea receiver can be reduced to less than 1㏈ for corner frequencies as large as 10% of the symbol rate.

  • This study presents an investigation of the characteristics of piezoelectric sensors whose main utilization is to measure impact pressure. The piezoelectric sensors were tested from several points of view. Their characteristics were investigated for repeatability, the effect of the diameter, temperature effect, water purity, flush mounting, and AC and DC coupling. Out of these, it was revealed that the temperature effect is very significant. The characteristics of the AC and DC coupling are also very important in understanding the time history of the impact pressure.

  • The effects of amino silane coupling agent on the AC electrical treeing and breakdown behaviors in an epoxy/layered silicate (1 wt%) were examined in needle-plate electrode geometry. A layered silicate was exfoliated in an epoxy base resin by using our AC electric field apparatus. To measure the tree initiation and propagation and the breakdown rate, an alternating current (AC) of 10 kV (60 Hz) was applied to the specimen in needle-plate electrode arrangement with a $30^{\circ}C$ insulating oil bath. In the epoxy/amino silane system, the tree initiation time was 11.5 times higher and the breakdown time was 17.9 times higher than those of the neat epoxy resin. The tree initiation time in the epoxy/layered silicate (1 wt%) system with the amino silane was 2.0 times higher, and the breakdown time was 1.5 times higher than those of the epoxy/layered silicate (1 wt%) system.
