  • Small electric motors in an automobile perform various tasks such as engine cooling, pumping, and in heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system. At present, most of dc motors are supplied by 12V or 24V batteries. However, DC motors surfer from lack of efficiency, low life cycles and unreliability. Therefore, there is a growing interest in substituting DC motors for advanced AC motors including switched reluctance motors. Although there are several other forms SRM converters, they are either unsatisfactory to the control performance or unsuitable for the 12V-battery powered 3-phase SRM drives. Taking into account the requirement for effective operation and simplicity structure of converter in the limited internal environment of automobiles, the author inclines toward selecting the modified C-dump converter as well as the energy efficient C-dump converter. This is so that more economical and efficient converter topology in automobile industries can be utilized. This paper describes the foundation for the design and development of a 12V-250W-3000rpm SRM drives for automobiles. Furthermore, complete circuit, computer simulation and experiment results are presented to verify the performance of the C-dump converters.

  • The powers used in the robot drive motor system are mostly DC sources such as batteries. Even AC powers in some systems are generated from DC sources by the inverter. It is can be forecasted that the DC-link communications will be widely used invarious industrial application. In this paper a novel BLDC motor drive system by using DC-link communications is proposed. The characteristic of this system is the communication only needs 2 DC lines. There are not additional lines to translate the reference signals and the reliability of the system is enhanced especially in some badly circumstance. The number of lines can be least when applied in the multi motor control system and the slip ring design can be simplified when applied as rotation machine. The reasonableness of proposed motor system is clarified by the PSIM simulation and the hardware prototype.

Partial Discharge Measurement by a Capacitive Voltage Probe in a Gas Insulated Switch (가스절연개폐기에서 용량성 전압프로브를 이용한 부분방전의 측정)

  • An objective of this paper is to develop a partial discharge (PD) measurement device for monitoring gas insulated switches installed in power distribution system. A capacitive voltage probe was studied and designed to detect PD pulse without an electrical connection. The PD measurement device consists of the capacitive voltage probe attached outside of a bushing, a coupling network which attenuates AC voltage by 270 dB, and a low noise amplifier with the gain of 40 dB in ranges of 500 kHz${\sim}$20 MHz. The sensitivity of the prototype device calculated by a calibrator was 1.98 m V /pc. An application experiment was carried out in a 25.8 kV gas insulated switch and the peak pulse of 76.7 pC was detected. From the experimental results, it is expected that the PD measurement device can be applied to online monitoring system of gas insulated switches.

  • 전력계통은 전력수요의 지속적인 성장에 따라서 전력설비의 추가를 지속적으로 추진하고 있지만, 심해지는 환경문제 등으로 인해 용지 확보에 어려움이 있다. 이로 인해 송전선로 장거리화, 용량부족량 등 전력계통에 여러 가지 복잡한 문제가 야기되는데. 이것은 곧 전력계통의 안정도와 직결된다. 이러한 문제를 효과적이면서 경제적인 해결방법으로 FACT(Flexible AC Transmission System)기술이 주목 받고 있다. FACTS 기기 중 SVC(Static Var Compensator)는 상용운전 중이며, 기존 동기조상기에 비해 저렴하고, 신속 정확한 전압제어를 하는 장점이 있다. SVC는 TCR(Thyristor Controlled Reactor)과 TSC(Thyristor Switched Capacitor), FC(Fixed Capacitor)등 여러 종류의 구성을 가지고 있다. 합성시험회로설비(Synthetic Test Circuit)는 Thyristor로 구성된 TCR, TSC Valve를 실제 운전조건으로 동작시켜 SVC Valve의 신뢰성을 검증하는 설비이다. 특히, TSC Valve는 운전시 초기 과전류가 발생하는 운전특성상 이에 대한 평가기준에 따른 시험을 통해 신뢰성을 반드시 검증하여야 한다. 본 논문에서는 IEC 61954에서 제시하는 시험평가 기준에 의거하여 TSC의 Overcurrent Test를 위한 STC 평가 방법를 기술하고 설계된 TSC 시험을 위한 STC topology와 Simulation으로 검증 방법을 기술한다.

  • ITER 초전도자석 전원공급장치에서 고장의 종류는 단락, 단락 외 컨버터 내부고장 그리고 여러 외부요인에 의한 고장 크게 세 가지로 구분된다. 여기서 단락 외 컨버터 내부고장과 외부요인에 의한 고장은 보호시스템 및 장치의 동작으로 인해 피해가 축소된다. 하지만 단락시에는 보호시스템이 동작하더라도 단락전류가 매우 커 큰 피해를 줄 수 있다. 또한 ITER 초전도자석 전원공급장치는 운전 중 발생 가능한 부하의 단락으로부터 초전도자석 및 다른 장치 등을 보호하기 위하여 ITER에서 요구하고 있는 FSC(Fault Suppression Capability: 고장 억제 능력) 조건을 만족해야 한다. FSC 조건에서 전원공급장치는 출력에서 300 kA의 단락전류가 흐를 경우에도 80 ms(50 Hz, 4주기)동안 전기적 고장 없이 견뎌야 한다. 본 논문에서는 전원공급장치에서 발생될 수 있는 주요 단락 항목을 소개하고, 최악의 조건에서 단락전류에 의한 전원공급장치의 고장해석을 통해 FSC 요건을 만족하는 소자 선정 및 구조설계의 적합성을 검증한다.

  • ITER 초전도자석 전원공급장치의 예비설계가 실제 크기 6펄스 R&D 컨버터의 제작 및 시험결과를 기반으로 수행되었다. ITER 컨버터는 자체적으로 지지되는 알루미늄 버스바 구조로 제작되며, 이 버스바에 양면 클램핑 방식으로 조립되는 Thyristor 스위치는 4인치 규격으로써 컨버터의 종류에 따라 한 개의 암 당 8 - 16 개의 소자가 병렬로 구성된다. ITER 컨버터 예비설계는 알루미늄 버스바 구조설계, 컨버터 냉각설계, 컨버터 전기회로 설계, 컨버터 고장해석 및 보호설계, 시험절차 및 요건 등을 포함하며, 본 논문에서 그 설계결과를 기술한다. ITER 컨버터는 예비설계 결과를 기반으로 상세설계 및 제작설계를 거친 후 제작된다.

  • In order to invetigate the effect of Pr additive on the magnetostriction of amorphous Fe-B alloys, amorphous $Fe_{86-x}B_{14}Pr_{x}(2{\leq}x{\leq}8\;at.%)$ alloys were prepared by a rapid solidification process. As the Pr content increased in the as-prepared amorphous $Fe_{84}B_{14}Pr_{2}$ alloy annealed at $300^{\circ}C$ for 2 hr increased to 70 ppm. Ac power loss and permeability$(f=50\;kHz,\;B_{m}=0.1\;T)$ of the annealed amorphous $Fe_{84}B_{14}Pr_{2}$ alloy were 15 W/kg and $5.5{\times}10^{3}$, respectively.

  • Economical consumption of energy, longer life of lamps, higher lighting comfort and new aesthetic of illumination is subject of numerous research and development works. The halogen lamps are an example of positive solution some of above mentioned problems. The electronic transformers are more frequent used for their supply. In comparison with conventional transformers they have less weight, less volume and 60% less power losses. Their advantages are particular visible, when the hybrid technique is applied. The paper presents the results of engineering research and development works carried out in Private Institute of Electronic Engineering, in R. & D. Center for Hybrid Microelectronics and Resistors and in Technical School of Communications in Krakow, in the field of the design and exploitation tests of hybrid converters 220V AC /12V DC (electronic transformers) and electronic ballasts destined for the supply of halogen lamps 20W to 150W and fluorescent lamps respectively. To perform the converters, thick film technology and surface mount technology were used. For the protection of converter electronic circuit the thick film temperature sensor and transistors were applied. Moreover the paper presents the base application circuits of elaborated converters, their technical parameters and exploitation results. The development perspectives of such domain of hybrid circuits are also discussed.

  • This paper analyzed the induced voltages on a telecommunication line due to high-speed a.c. electrified railway system. The induced voltages were measured by domestic regulation, 2 test lines with 2 km length were installed near railway in parallel to compare the influence for distance from disturbing line. The analysis was made on the induced voltages with the distance from railway, line length, and the different earthing point, and also on the waveform and spectrum distributions. The statistical induced voltages for the time for a day and dates was analyzed.

  • A phase-shift full-bridge converter is widely used conventional converter. If the input power change in the variation of the output voltage, there is a time interval freewheeling according to a duty change. This is a factor of reducing the efficiency. In this paper, we propose a method for improving the efficiency of the converter/inverter systems that require high efficiency in the ESS. The proposed method was used for the duty control for solving the fail problem ZVS(Zero Voltage Switching) in Freewheeling interval. The proposed method was verified by experiments.
