In this paper, we propose a performance index that can compare the position estimation performance according to the time slot allocation order, which is superior in the position estimation performance in the operation of the Link-16 based relative navigation system. In order to verify the validity of the performance index, a software-based Link-16 relative navigation system performance analysis platform composed of a signal generator, a signal reception and navigation algorithm execution unit, and a performance analysis unit was designed. Using the designed software platform, we analyzed the relationship between proposed performance index and position estimation performance according to time slot allocation order in the same position reference (PR) arrangement. The performance index of the proposed time slot allocation is expected to be utilized not only for the Link-16 system, but also for the Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA)-based navigation system.
The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the physical consciousness of two groups, the high school girl(335) and the female college students(246), about their actual somatotype and cognitive comatotype, and to investigate it in comparison with the R hrer Index, the BMI Index, and the Broca-Katsura Index to find if there is any difference between the two groups. The results are as follows; A. In the light of cognitive somatotype by self-evaluation:(1) both high school girls and female college students recognized their weight and somatotype as normal and balanced with no significant difference between them. (2) bout groups indicated that their answers were the results of their own self-evaluation, and it was shown that there was a significant difference between the two groups. B. According to the actual somatotype based on Index. (1) it was shown there was a significant difference between the cognitive somatotype and the actual one of the tow respective groups when based on the Broca Katsura Index. (3) there was a significant difference between the cognitive somatotype and the actual one of the two respective groups when based on the Rohrer Index. Finally, it was shown that there was a significant difference between the two groups.
Brittleness is one of the most important properties of rock which has a major impact not only on the failure process of intact rock but also on the response of rock mass to tunneling and mining projects. Due to the lack of a universally accepted definition of rock brittleness, a wide range of methods, including direct and indirect methods, have been developed for its measurement. Measuring rock brittleness by direct methods requires special equipment which may lead to financial inconveniences and is usually unavailable in most of rock mechanic laboratories. Accordingly, this study aimed to develop a new strength-based index for predicting rock brittleness based on the obtained base form. To this end, an innovative algorithm was developed in Matlab environment. The utilized algorithm finds the optimal index based on the open access dataset including the results of punch penetration test (PPT), uniaxial compressive and Brazilian tensile strength. Validation of proposed index was checked by the coefficient of determination (R2), the root mean square error (RMSE), and also the variance for account (VAF). The results indicated that among the different brittleness indices, the suggested equation is the most accurate one, since it has the optimal R2, RMSE and VAF as 0.912, 3.47 and 89.8%, respectively. It could finally be concluded that, using the proposed brittleness index, rock brittleness can be reliably predicted with a high level of accuracy.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact of active vibration exercise on the neck pain, disability index, and muscle activity of patients with forward head posture. Methods: A total of 24 patients were randomly assigned to an experimental group or a control group (n=12 each). The experimental group performed active vibration exercise using a flexi-bar for 20 minutes a day, five times a week for four weeks. The study measured patient neck pain using a visual analog scale, neck pain related disability using the neck disability index, and muscle activity using electromyography. Results: The intragroup comparison showed significant differences in the visual analog scale score, neck disability index score and upper trapezius, lower trapezius and serratus anterior muscle activity values among patients in the experimental group. The intergroup comparison showed that differences in the visual analog scale score, neck disability index score and upper trapezius, lower trapezius and serratus anterior muscle activity values in the control group. Conclusion: This study showed that active vibration exercise was effective in improving the neck pain, disability index, and muscle activity of patients with forward head posture.
In this paper, we developed a workload index for monitoring the durability test using operation information of an excavator. First, the acceleration and cylinder pressure were selected as load factors by analyzing operation data. Through load correlation analysis according to each load factor, Root Mean Square (RMS) and Work Load Range (WLR) were respectively derived as a load feature representing mechanical load. In addition, the workload index was used to quantify load features. For applying the workload index to monitoring, a real-time monitoring system consisting of sensors and embedded controller was installed on the excavator and the system was integrated with a remote monitoring environment using a wireless network. Results of load monitoring and analysis verified that the developed workload index was effective from the viewpoint of the relative comparison of the workload.
Purpose: The immature granulocyte count has been reported to be a marker of infection and sepsis. The difference in leukocyte subfractions (delta neutrophil index, DNI) in ADVIA 2120 reflects the fraction of circulating immature granulocytes in the blood. This study evaluated the clinical utility of DNI as a severity and prediction marker in critically ill patients with burn sepsis. Methods: One hundred and sixty nine patients admitted to the burn care unit were studied. DNI (the difference in leukocyte subfractions identified by myeloperoxidase and nuclear lobularity channels) was determined using a specific blood cell analyzer. Results: Seventy one patients (42 %) were diagnosed with burn sepsis. DNI was significantly higher in patients with burn sepsis than in patients without (P<0.01). Delta neutrophil index was a better indicator of burn sepsis than C-reactive protein, lactate, white blood cell count, HCO3, base excess, lactate, procalcitonin (odds ratio, 6.31; confidence interval 2.36~16.90; P<0.01). And the receiver operating characteristic curves showed that delta neutrophil index, AUC 0.795 (95% confidence interval, 0.721~0.869; P<0.05) was a better predictor of burn sepsis than lactate, procalcitonin, white blood cell, base excess and abbreviated burn severity index. Conclusion: Delta neutrophil index may be used as a early marker of patients with burn sepsis.
In this study, we individualize the clauses to sort out the troubled ones, draw up a interrelation model in order to visually organize the relations, and finally, suggest the desirable application idea. The interrelation model suggested in this study has been made based on the matrix method. On this matrix, we arranged the environmental factors on horizontal and vertical axis, and when we describe the relation of each factors, we set the horizontal axis as the base and divided the content into three grades : Fine, Medium, and Poor. In addition to that, we expressed those three grades into numerical value like 3 points for Level Fine, 2 points for Level Medium, and 1 point for Level Poor and then, we converted this numerical values into index numbers. We could classify the index numbers such as AS, PS, Q-index, P-index. AS is an index numerically shows the degree of giving environmental effect, PS is an index numerically shows the degree of receiving environmental effect, Q-index is an index shows the aggravate degree, and P-index shows the relation degree. The Q/P-index with large numbers has considerable effect on the environmental system, while the small numbered Q/P-index barely effect on the environmental system. Moreover, we classified the environmental factors into 5 levels(I~V) according to the relations between the Q-index and P-index. Level I is less affected by the environment and has more giving effect, while Level V is more sensitively affected by the environment and has more receiving effect, which we considered important. Therefore, we could come up with the result that if we consider the each level of factors when we evaluate the EIA, the result would be far more accurate and reliable since it contains mutual relation aspect of EIA. The suggested interrelation model in this thesis is presentable as one of those scoping system. We highly believe the need of scoping system in EIA and suggest the interrelation model as the alternative idea for scoping system.
This research was performed to investigate the effect of recent climate changes on wood decay hazard index (Scheffer index) in Korea. The index was determined using a climate data of 58 different locations obtained from the website of Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA), and the wood decay hazard index was determined at the intervals of 10 years. Most of regions in Korea except Juju island showed wood decay hazard index values between 35 and 65, considered to be moderate decay hazard zones. But in recent 10 years (2003~2012), the wood decay hazard index was rapidly increased, resulting in showing many high decay hazard regions. The trend may be explained by the in crease of temperature and precipitation. The recent climate change of Korea turning into the weather of subtropical region may explain the increase of wood decay hazard index.

Objective: Whether metabolic redistribution occurs in patients with white matter hyperintensities (WMHs) on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is unknown. This study aimed 1) to propose a measure of the brain metabolic network for an individual patient and preliminarily apply it to identify impaired metabolic networks in patients with WMHs, and 2) to explore the clinical and imaging features of metabolic redistribution in patients with WMHs. Materials and Methods: This study included 50 patients with WMHs and 70 healthy controls (HCs) who underwent 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose-positron emission tomography/MRI. Various global property parameters according to graph theory and an individual parameter of brain metabolic network called "individual contribution index" were obtained. Parameter values were compared between the WMH and HC groups. The performance of the parameters in discriminating between the two groups was assessed using the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC). The correlation between the individual contribution index and Fazekas score was assessed, and the interaction between age and individual contribution index was determined. A generalized linear model was fitted with the individual contribution index as the dependent variable and the mean standardized uptake value (SUVmean) of nodes in the whole-brain network or seven classic functional networks as independent variables to determine their association. Results: The means ± standard deviations of the individual contribution index were (0.697 ± 10.9) × 10-3 and (0.0967 ± 0.0545) × 10-3 in the WMH and HC groups, respectively (p < 0.001). The AUC of the individual contribution index was 0.864 (95% confidence interval, 0.785-0.943). A positive correlation was identified between the individual contribution index and the Fazekas scores in patients with WMHs (r = 0.57, p < 0.001). Age and individual contribution index demonstrated a significant interaction effect on the Fazekas score. A significant direct association was observed between the individual contribution index and the SUVmean of the limbic network (p < 0.001). Conclusion: The individual contribution index may demonstrate the redistribution of the brain metabolic network in patients with WMHs.
