The subject of study was a kindergarten class. The experimental and comparative groups consisted of 20 people each. In order to verify the effect of applying the early childhood mathematics education program in connection with outdoor movement activities, a total of 15 weeks of program was conducted for young children. As a result of conducting this study, it was found that a mathematics education program linked to outdoor movement activities improves the ability to manipulate objects. The discussion based on the results of this study is as follows. First, we suggest to specific activities that can be performed in an outdoor environment should be developed and applied to the field of early childhood education. Second, we suggest that It is necessary to program various subjects that link to outdoor movement activities. Third, we suggest what various measures are needed to improve the young children's ability to manipulate objects.

  • This study was to provide date for developing a effective educational program which would be helpful for teachers to understand children's daily activities more properly. From two kindergartens, 20 children were observed for 3 consecutive hours. The observer followed the target child, gathering data during 30-second "windows". This observation lasted for three hours per day and each child was observed 60 times. The proportion of major activities such as education, play, work, and conversation in children's daily activities was compared. Results showed that children of Waldorf program were more exposed to and engaged in play than children of Theme-based program, whereas children of theme-based program were exposed to and engaged in academic activities than those of Waldorf program.

  • Purpose: The purposes of this study were to develop a drum club activities program for soldiers and to explore the effects of the program on the mental health of soldiers. Methods: This study used one group pretest-posttest design. A drum club activities program for soldiers was offered for 12 weeks with each session of 2 hours. A total of 33 participants were recruited but eighteen participants who did not participate in sessions of the program more than 3 times were dropped out of the study. Finally, data from 15 participants were analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 program. Mental health status (stress, anxiety and aggression) was measured by Vibraimage technology. Vibraimage technology is a useful and objective method to identify the human psychophysiological state by analyzing the movement of various frequencies and amplitudes of head motion and face image using camera. Results: There is statistically significant difference in anxiety (Z=-3.12, p<.001) after implementation of the program. However, there was no statistically significant difference in stress and aggression. Conclusion: The results indicate that the drum club activities program was effective in decreasing anxiety in soldiers. The drum club activities program can be considered as a possible nursing intervention strategy to reduce anxiety for soldiers.

  • The purpose of this study was to apply a PERT-type system, a combination of the project evaluation and review technique(PERT) and critical path method(CPM) on the employees' work time management of flood preparation, assembly, transportation and cleaning in home-delivered meals program for elderly The resources allotment heuristic program was developed by considering the number of employees and cooking utilities, being limited resources of home- delivered meals program. This program could assign the employees to perform the works included in flood preparation, assembly, transportation ind cleaning. Critical path and activities ware identified by PERT-type system on the basic of work time investigation in five senior centers. Work sheets were invented to perform the work by the shortest path with flexible employees'maximum flow As a result of the work time investigation, the most prevalent activities were ones of preparation in center C and E. Besides, the preparation(over fifty percent) was the most proportion among flood preparation, assembly, transportation and cleaning in center C and E. Critical path and activities of 'C'center were cucumber in sauce preparation path and assembly, wrapping in assembly path and case delivery in transportation path. Critical path and activities of 'E'center were Pan-fried Potato Preparation Path and assembly, case covering, wrapping in assembly Path. The work sheet invented by the heuristic program and PERT-type system reduced the work completion time and man hours in both centers.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of creative thinking activities and scientific attitude through the use of storytelling in the STEAM program for elementary students. For the purpose of this study, a teaching plan and worksheet for students using storytelling in STEAM was developed and applied. The results of this study are as follows: First, the change in students' creative thinking activities by applying the STEAM program using storytelling has statistically meaningful difference (p<.05). Second, the improvement in the scientific attitude score has statistically meaningful difference(p<.05). Third, according to the analysis of a questionnaire used to evaluate the program, students had a positive perception of the STEAM program and gained higher level of satisfaction about the lesson. Therefore, using storytelling STEAM program applied in this study might be useful to improve creative thinking activities, and can be expected to improve scientific attitude and should be widely applied to gifted education.

  • Purpose : This study examined the effects of a virtual reality rehabilitation program on stroke patients' upper extremity functions and activities of daily living (ADL). Methods : The subjects were equally and randomly divided into an experimental group (n=16) to whom a virtual reality rehabilitation program was applied and a control group (n=16) who received traditional occupational therapy. The intervention was applied five times per week, 30 minutes per each time, for six weeks. Jebsen-Taylor hand function test was conducted and the subjects' Manual Function Test was measured to examine their upper extremity functions before and after the treatment intervention, and a Korean version of modified Barthel index was calculated to look at their activities of daily living. Results : After the intervention, the upper extremity functions and activities of daily living of the participants in both groups significantly improved (p<.05). However, the improvements in these parameters among the participants in the virtual reality rehabilitation program were significantly greater than those in the control group (p>.05). Conclusion : The virtual reality rehabilitation program is a stable and reliable intervention method for enhancing the upper limb functions and activities of daily living of stroke patients.

  • This study was a pre and post quasi-experimental design study using a single group about the analysis of the changes in the performance level of activities of daily living and depression of the elderly with mild cognitive impairment through the participation in the cognitive program. Study subjects were the 16 elderly with mild cognitive impairment using a W welfare center in J city and they participated in cognitive program for a total of 8 weeks, twice a week. The assessment about the performance level of activities of daily living and depression were performed through the program. As the results, after participating in the program, study subjects' performance level of activities of daily living were significantly significant improved, and depression levels were statistically significantly reduced. Thus, to improve the performance level of activities of daily living and reduce the depression levels of the elderly with mild cognitive impairment, the cognitive program should be used as a intervention program and then in the process, it is necessary to actively induce the participation of the elderly with mild cognitive impairment.

  • Graduate Students in engineering at The University of Tokushima can take part in an educational program which is offered long-term internship opportunities (at a company or the government). Onishi, one of authors, took part in this educational program. She is studying environmental conservation at the university and is interested in environmental conservation activities led by residents. Striking a balance between environmental conservation and human economic activities is seen as important to society. However, the continuing in environmental conservation activities is difficult. Therefore, collaborative activities attract attention as a way of the continuing in environmental conservation activities. A person called "co-coordinator" is a key to make many people to participate in the sustainable collaboration activities. The main role of co-coordinator is connecting people who are interested in environmental conservation activities. The purpose of joining in environmental conservation activities is different from person to person depending on where they belong to or where they live. Onishi took part in the educational program to learn the techniques of adjusting the differing interests. She did her internship at environmental consulting company in Kamikatsu town, Tokushima prefecture. She participated in several environmental conservation activities and work experience as a coordinator. Through this experience, she learned not only the technique but also the difficulty of the work. This paper reports the results obtained from her experience.
