The Force Density Method (FDM) is a well known and extremely versatile tool in form finding of cable nets. In its linear formulation such method makes it possible to find all the possible equilibrium configurations of a net of cables having a certain given connectivity and given boundary conditions on the nodes. Each singular configuration corresponds to an assumed force density distribution. Its improvement as Non-Linear Force Density Method (NLFDM) introduces the possibility of imposing assigned relative distances among the nodes, the tensile level in the elements and/or their initial undeformed length. In this paper an Extended Force Density Method (EFDM) is proposed, which makes it possible to set conditions in terms of given fixed nodal reactions or, in other words, to fix the positions of a certain number of nodes and, at the same time, to impose the intensity of the reaction force. Through such extension, the (EFDM) enables us to deal with form findings problems of cable nets subjected to given constraints and, in particular, with mixed structures, made of cables and struts. The efficiency and the robustness of method are assessed through comparisons with other form finding techniques in dealing with characteristic applications to the prestress design of cable systems. As a further extension, the EFDM is applied to structures having some parts not yet geometrically defined, as can happen in designing new creative forms.
This study developed plural gravity models and their application method in order to increase the accuracy of trip distribution estimation. The developed method initially involves utilizing the coefficient of determination ($R^2$) to set the target level. Afterwards, the gravity model is created, and if the gravity model's coefficient of determination is satisfactory in regards to the target level, the model creation is complete and future trip distribution estimation is calculated. If the coefficient of determination is not on par with the target level, the zone pair with the largest standardized residual is removed from the model until the target level is obtained. In respect to the model, the removed zone pairs are divided into positive(+) and negative(-) sides. In each of these sides, gravity models are made until the target level is reached. If there are no more zone pairs to remove, the model making process concludes, and future trip distribution estimation is calculated. The newly developed plural gravity model and application method was adopted for 42 zone pairs as a case study. The existing method of utilizing only one gravity model exhibited a coefficient of determination value ($R^2$) of 51.3%, however, the newly developed method produced three gravity models, and exhibited a coefficient of determination value ($R^2$) of over 90%. Also, the accuracy of the future trip distribution estimation was found to be higher than the existing method.

In this paper, a plan-coordination architecture is proposed for multi-agent control in the fractal manufacturing system (FrMS). A fractal in FrMS is a set of distributed agents whose goal can be achieved through cooperation, coordination, and negotiation with other agents. Since each agent in the FrMS generates, achieves, and modifies its own plan fragments autonomously during the coordination process with other agents, it is necessary to develop a systematic methodology for the achievement of global plan in the manufacturing system. The heterarchical structure of the FrMS provides a compromised plan-coordination approach, it compromise a centralized plan-generation/execution (which mainly focuses on the maximization of throughput) with a distributed one (which focuses on the autonomy of each module and flexibility of the whole system). Plan-coordinators in lower level fractal independently generate plan fragments according to the global plan of higher level fractal, and plan-coordinators in higher level fractal mediate/coordinate the plan fragments to enhance the global performance of the system. This paper assumes that generation method of the plan fragments and the negotiation policy of the fractal is achieved by a simple process, and we mainly focuses on the information exchanging and distributed decision making process to coordinate the combinations of plan fragments within a limited exchange of information.
This study has two purposes. One is to know that it is Possible to use portfolio in the elementary math class. The other is to make a useful method for using portfolio. We got the following conclusion through the study. Portfolio gave students an opportunity that they could review their mathematical thinking. But it couldn't work very well for the low-level students. They didn't pay attention to the class. So, careful prepa-ration and training were necessary for the portfolio material. And the portfolio material must be prepared by appropriate contents. Teacher had to do math class by considering students ability. The math class could be much better for motivation, teaching-learning activity impro-vement and communication tool by using portfolio material. There are several imple-mentation processes in preparation, execution and utilization of the class. 1) Preparation: Teacher must decide if it is appropriate for portfolio by analyzing the course and textbook and set a final goal. And then teacher has to select an appropriate item and make a schedule for the class. The portfolio material must contain valuable things from which students learn mathematics and use in their life. The student level, utilization purpose and contents are considered when one prepares portfolio material. 2) Execution: Students are supposed to understand about the portfolio very well. It is important for them to get the opportunity for reviewing through math class diary, their opinion, friends opinion and teachers opinion. 3) Utilization: Parents review ameliorates the communication among teacher, student and parents about learning activity.
The urgent VAI method development is required since "The Act of Physical Protection and Radiological Emergency that is established in 2003" requires an evaluation of physical threats in nuclear facilities and an establishment of physical protection in Korea. The VAI methodology is developed to (1) make a sabotage model by reusing existing fire/flooding/pipe break PSA models, (2) calculate MCSs and TEPSs, (3) select the most cost-effective TEPS among many TEPSs, (4) determine the compartments in a selected TEPS as vital areas, and (5) provide protection measures to the vital areas. The developed VAI methodology contains four steps, (1) collecting the internal level 1 PSA model and information, (2) developing the fire/flood/pipe rupture model based on level 1 PSA model, (3) integrating the fire/flood/pipe rupture model into the sabotage model by JSTAR, and (4) calculating MCSs and TEPS. The VAT process is performed through the VIPEX that was developed in KAERI. This methodology serves as a guide to develop a sabotage model by using existing internal and external PSA models. When this methodology is used to identify the vital areas, it provides the most cost-effective method to save the VAI and physical protection costs.

A time-series data is the collection of real numbers over the time intervals. One of the main tasks in time-series data is efficiently to find subsequences similar to a given query sequence. In this paper, we propose an efficient subsequence matching method, which is called Instance-Match (I-Match). I-Match constructs a virtual window in order to reduce false alarms. Through the experiment with real data set and query sets, we show that I-Match improves query processing time by up to 2.95 times and significantly reduces the number of candidates comparing to Dual Match.

In this study, we applied microcellular foaming injection molding process to improve the performance of system air-conditioner drain fan which had been produced by injection molding process and studied the optimization of process conditions through 6-sigma process and response surface method (RSM) to reduce weight and deformation of products. Additive type, melt temperature, mold temperature, and injection screw shape were selected as the factor affecting the weight and deformation of the products by carrying out analysis of trivial many through ANOVA and design of experiment (DOE) method. Among the effect factor, we set the addictive type to Long G/F and screw shape to foaming screw which had the highest level of weight reduction and deformation reduction. The amount of foaming agent gas was set at 60 ml, which was the limit beyond which the weight of product did not decrease any more. For melt temperature and mold temperature, we studied the conditions where both weight and deformation were minimized using the RSM. As a result, we set the melt temperature to $250^{\circ}C$, fixed mold temperature to $20^{\circ}C$, and moving mold temperature to $40^{\circ}C$. The improvement effect was analyzed by appling the selected optimal conditions to the production process using the microcellular foaming injection molding. The results showed that the mean weight of product was measured to be 1,420g which was 19% lower than that measured in the current process. The standard deviations of the weights were found to be similar to those in the current process and it showed a low dispersion. The mean deformation was measured to be 0.9237mm, which represented a 57% reduction compared to the mean deformation in the current process, and the standard deviation decreased from 0.3298mm to 0.1398mm. Moreover, we analyzed the process capability for deformation, and the results showed that the short-term process capability increased from 2.73 to 6.60 which was even higher than targeted level of 6.0.

The use of non-bearing lightweight wall has increased recently due to the increase of high-rise buildings and supply of long-life housing. Lightweight wall has advantages such as reducing the self-weight of the building, convenience in installation, and shortening construction period, however, must have a sufficient strength to external force. This study standardized the stiffness (static horizontal load resistance) test method for lightweight walls by using the actual impact load obtained through the load analysis test conducted in the previous studies. The size of specimen was set up as height 2.4m and width 3.0m. Test apparatus and test methods were referred to BS 5234-2:1992. However, the loading level applied to the specimen was divided into 3 steps (3000N, 1000N, 500N) that can be applied selectively depending on the purpose of the wall. The deformation characteristics according to the same loading level were vary depending on the specimen's type, and the evaluation criteria for functional damage may vary depending on the material, method of construction, and purpose of wall. Therefore, we did not suggest unified evaluation criteria of the stiffness to the test results.

We present the design and strength evaluation of an anodically bonded pressurized cavity array, based on the energy release rate measured from the anodically bonded plates of two dissimilar materials. From a theoretical analysis, a simple fracture mechanics model of the pressurized cavity array has been developed. The energy release rate (ERR) of the bonded cavity with an infinite bonding length has been derived in terms of cavity pressure, cavity size, bonding length, plate size and material properties. The ERR with a finite bonding length has been evaluated from the finite element analysis performed for varying cavity and plate sizes. It is found that, for an inter-cavity bonding length greater than the half of the cavity length, the bonding strength of cavity array approaches to that of the infinite plate. For a shorter bonding length, however, the bonding strength of the cavity array is monotonically decreased with the ratio of the bonding length to the cavity length. The critical ERR of 6.21J/㎡ has been measured from anodically bonded silicon-glass plates. A set of critical pressure curves has been generated for varying cavity array sizes, and a design method of the pressurized cavity array has been developed for the failure-free wafer-level packaging of MEMS devices.

Finite-set predictive current control (FS-PCC) is advantageous for power converters due to its high dynamic performance and has received increasing interest in multilevel inverters. Among multilevel inverter topologies, the cascaded H-bridge (CHB) inverter is popular and mature in the industry. However, a main drawback of FS-PCC is its large computational burden, especially for the application of CHB inverters. In this paper, an FS-PCC method based on a deadbeat solution for three-phase zero-common-mode-voltage CHB inverters is proposed. In the proposed method, an inverse model of the load is utilized to calculate the reference voltage based on the reference current. In addition, a cost function is directly expressed in the terms of the voltage errors. An optimal control actuation is selected by minimizing the cost function. In the proposed method, only three instead of all of the control actuations are used for the calculations in one sampling period. This leads to a significant reduction in computations. The proposed method is tested on a three-phase 5-level CHB inverter. Simulation and experimental results show a very similar and comparable control performance from the proposed method compared with the traditional FS-PCC method which evaluates the cost function for all of the control actuations.
