Nonstoichiometric solid solutions of the $Sr_{1+x}Dy_{1-x}FeO_{4-y}$ system (x = 0. 00, 0. 25, 0. 50, 0. 75 and 1. 00) with layered $K-2NiF_4$ type structure were prepared at 1200$^{\circ}$C under atmospheric pressure. X-ray powder diffraction spectra show that the crystallographic phases of the samples are tetragonal within the x range. Nonstoichiometric chemical formulas have been determined by Mohr salt analysis and it shows that the amount of $Fe^{4+}$ ion or ${\tau}$ value increases with increasing x. Electrical conductivities of the samples which were measured in the temperature range of $-100{\sim}200^{\circ}$C under atmospheric air pressure are varied within the semiconductivity range of $l0^{-8}{\sim}10^{-2}(ohm^{-1}{\cdot}cm^{-1}$) and the activation energies are also varied from 0.02 to 0.08 eV. Mixed valency state of $Fe^{3+}$ and $Fe^{4+}$ in the sample of $Sr_{1.00}Dy_{1.00}FeO_{4.04}$ was identified again by Mossbauer spectrum at 200K.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of listening to music during musical activities on children's development of tone recognition and sense of rhythm. The subjects were total sixty 4-years-olds from two classes of thirty. The children were divided into two groups, experimental and control. Before the experimental procedures, a pre-test was taken to evaluate the level of tone recognition and sense of rhythm of the children. Cordon's 'Audie' was employed and used to measure the difference of tone recognition and sense of rhythm. Then, the activity of listening to music was applied to the experimental group for ten weeks. For the experimental group, the musical activity was selected based on the themes of our tfe which was related to the weekly and yearly teaching plan. One the other hand, no musical activity was provided for the control group. After the experiment, a post-test was carried out using the same methodology of pre-test. Data were analysed by ANCOVA test. Results showed that there was a statistically significant difference in the development of tone recognition and sense of rhythm between the experimental group and the control group.

To overcome the drawbacks of conventional LDMOSFETs, we propose RESURF EDMOSFETs which can be adapted in varous circuit applications, be driven without charge pumping circuity and thowe threshold voltage can be adjusted. The devices have the diffused drift region formed by a high tmperature process before the gate oxidaton. After the polysilicon gate electrode formation, a fraction of the drift region around the gate edge is opened for supplemental self-aligned ion implantation to obtain self-aligned drift region. This leads to a shorter gate length and desirable drift region junction contour under the gate edge for minimum specific-on-resistance. In additon, a and maximize the breakdown voltage. Also, by biasing the metal field plate, we can reduce the specific-on-resistance further. The devices are optimized by using the TSUPREM-4 process simulator and the MEDICI device simulator. The optimized devices have the breakdwon voltage and the specific-on-resistance of 101.5V and 1.14m${\Omega}{\cdot}cm^{2}$, respectively for n-channel RESURF EDMOSFET, and 98V and 2.75m.ohm..cm$^{2}$ respectively for p-channel RESURF EDMOSFET. To check the validity of the simulations, we fabricated n-channel EDMOSFETs and confirmed the measured breakdown voltage of 97V and the specific-on-resistance of 1.28m${\Omega}{\cdot}cm^{2}$. These results are superior to those of any other reported power devices for smart power IC applications.

An experimental study of the heat transfer characteristics between circular water jet and cylindrical inner surface is presented. The ratios of the semi-cylinder's inner diameter and the nozzle outlet diameter were varied parametrically, as were the Reynolds number and the supplementary water heights. The measurements showed that cirucmferential distribution of the heat transfer coefficient peaked at the stagnation point and, there occurred a kind of a secondary maximum of heat transfer that moved toward to stagnation point as the ratio d/D increased. The local heat transfer coefficient increases as the Reynolds number becomes larger, and the rate of increase is subjected to the influence of d/D & position of angle. Also, optimum heights of supplementary water which brings about the augmentation of heat transfer are S/D=1 for the stagnation point, the position of $15^{\circ}$ & $30^{\circ}$ angle, but for the positions of $45^{\circ}$ angle (d/D=10~11.67), $60^{\circ}$ & $75^{\circ}$ angle, the heat transfer coefficients in the case of using supplementary water are smaller than simple jet (S/D=0).

This paper is the forth investigation on the evaluation methods of flow characteristics in a steady flow bench. In the previous works, it was concluded that the assumption of the solid rotation might cause serious problems and both of the eccentricity and the velocity profile distort the flow characteristics when using the ISM at 1.75B plane. Also particle image velocimetry (PIV) measurement at this position showed that the real velocity profile was far from the assumption of ISM evaluation. In this paper, the planar velocity profiles were measure from 1.75B to 6.00B position by PIV and the characteristics were examined according to the valve angles and lifts for further investigations about the effect of the position on the velocity profile. The results show that $26^{\circ}$ valve angle is always an unique exceptional case in all aspects. If the valve angle is $21^{\circ}$ and below, the planar velocity profiles according to the lift and the position are similar to each other, however, the tangential velocity curves along with the radial direction have common tendencies up to $16^{\circ}$ angle. Also the well arranged swirl behaviors are generally observed at the position above 3.00B and the velocity contour lines come closer to the concentric circle as the valve lift increases. In addition, the gradient of tangential velocity along with the radial direction from the swirl center becomes stable and constant as the position goes downstream. Concurrently the velocity gradient is larger to the eccentric direction of the center. In the meantime the tangential velocity curves along with the radial direction are irregular and various at 1.75B, however, they become regular and reach higher level as the evaluation position goes downstream. At this time the curves of 4.50B are the best fitted to the ideal one. On the other hand in an exceptional case, $26^{\circ}$, the velocity contours are very complicated over 6mm valve lift regardless the position and the gradient increases to the opposite direction of the eccentric center. Also, 6.00B is a best fitting position in the geometrical cylinder center base. With respect to the swirl center, the distribution range of centers for 1.75B is different to that for the other positions and the eccentricities of this plane are larger regardless the valve angle. After 1.75B, there is no certain tendency in the center position change according to the valve angle and lift. Additionally, the eccentricities are not sufficiently small to neglecting the effect on ISM measurement.

In this paper, a design method for a compact broadband planar monopole antenna fed by a coplanar waveguide (CPW) is studied. The proposed broadband monopole is optimized for terrestrial digital television (DTV) reception. In order to achieve broadband characteristics, the monopole and ground conductor are gradually tapered. By loading slit pairs on both monopole and ground plane, the proposed antenna is miniaturized. The monopole is fed by a CPW with 75-ohm characteristic impedance on an FR4 substrate and its size is $100mm{\times}200mm$. The optimized monopole antenna for DTV band (470-806 MHz) is fabricated on an FR4 substrate and tested experimentally to verify the results of this study.

In this paper, the dual-band open loop antenna using a strip conductor for the RFID reader and Wireless LAN Application, which has a resonant frequency at 910MHz and 2.45 GHz, is proposed. Input impedance of antenna is matched with the feed line of 50 ohm by varying the length and width of sip conductor making up the antenna. The gain and directivity of antenna is enhanced as tuning the length of strip, and as also grooving the teeth shapes on the strip conductor. The size of fabricated antenna is $75mm\times100mm$. The return loss and the gain of fabricated antenna are -11.92 dB, 3.02 dBi at 910 MHz and -21.31 dB, 4.08 dBi at 2.45 GHz, respectively.

This paper is the fifth investigation on the methods of evaluating flow characteristics in a steady flow bench. In previous studies, several assumptions used in the steady flow bench were examined and it was concluded that the assumption of the solid rotation may lead to serious problems. In addition, though the velocity profiles were improved as the measuring position went downstream, the distributions were far from ideal regardless of the valve angle and evaluation position. The eccentricities were also not sufficiently small to disregard the effect on impulse swirl meter (ISM) measurement. Therefore, the effect of these distribution and eccentricity changes according to the positions needs to be analyzed to discuss the method of flow characteristics estimation. In this context, the effects of evaluation position on the steady flow characteristics were studied. For this purpose, the swirl coefficient and swirl ratio were assessed and compared via measurement of the conventional ISM and calculation based on the velocity by particle image velocimetry(PIV) from 1.75B, 1.75 times bore position apart from the cylinder head, to the 6.00B position. The results show that the swirl coefficients by ISM strictly decrease and the curves as a function of the valve lift become smooth and linear as the measuring position goes downstream. However, the values through the calculation based on the PIV are higher at the farther position due to the approach of the tangential velocity profile to ideal. In addition, there exists an offset effect between the velocity distribution and eccentricity in the low valve lift range when the coefficients are estimated based on the swirl center. Finally, the curve of the swirl ratio by ISM and by PIV evaluation as a function the measuring position intersect around 5.00B plane except at $26^{\circ}$ valve angle.

In this paper, a design method for a wideband square loop antenna for Digital TV applications is studied. The proposed loop antenna is a square loop antenna combined with circular sectors to connect with central feed points. The square loop is used instead of the circular loop in order to miniaturize the antenna size. The input reflection coefficient and gain characteristics of the proposed antenna are analyzed to match with the 75 ohm port impedance for DTV applications. The effects of the gap between the circular sectors and the length of the square loop on the input reflection coefficient and gain characteristics are examined to obtain the optimal design parameters. The optimized antenna is fabricated on an FR4 substrate, and the experiment results show that it operates in the frequency band of 470-1,300 MHz for a VSWR < 2, which assures the operation in the DTV band.
