  • This study examined the storytelling characteristics of the super-compressed web drama "72 seconds". By analyzing all seasonal episodes of "72 seconds" and applying the various storytelling methodologies and related theories, this paper derived the main storytelling characteristics of "72 seconds" as follows. First, through the composition of the microscopic non-plot, the story value of empathy and fun is maximized, even though there is no dramatic composition compared to the general movie or drama. Second, by the specialization of everyday life, it leads to the transition from everyday experience to the new context. In other words, it provides a consensus through the cognitive expansion and interest by unfamiliarity of the ordinary experience to the audience. Third, based on the characteristics of super-compression and short theme, it utilizes fully stylistic narration like rapping. This makes the audience feel novel and further enhances the branding effect of content. And finally, based on various hybridity and variation, it uses remediation actively in all respects, especially comedy genre and comic factor.

  • For the purpose of evaluation of microleakage of class V resin restoration, 64 extracted bovine teeth were filled with two kinds of light curing composite resins(Z-100, Clearfil) and polymerized with 40 seconds of visible light and with 10 seconds of argon laser. After 1000 thermocycling($5^{\circ}C/55^{\circ}C$), specimens were placed in 1 % methylen blue dye solution for 72 hours in $37^{\circ}C$ water bath. The specimens were sectioned at center of filling body and the degree of dye penetration was observed with a stereomicroscope. The following results were obtained, 1. Differences of the microleakage of resin restorations polymerized with 10 seconds of argon laser and 40 seconds of visible light were statistically insignificant. 2. There was more microleakage in Z-100 than clearfil and there was a statistical significancy (p<0.05).

  • The host finding, ovipostition of Anagrus incarnafus Haliday and the sex ratio of its offsprings was determined. Both male and female mate immediately after emergence and the female parasitoid search for host eggs by drumming with antenna immediately after release on the rice seedings. Time required for the host searching, drumming with antenna, tapping and inserting with ovipositor, and ovipositing of A. incarnaws takes 188.5, 17.5, 72.4 and 206.7 seconds, respectively. The time required for mating takes 16-21 seconds. The sex ratio of offsprings between female and male was about 3: 1 in mated females and all the offsprings emerged from the eggs of unmated females were males. So, A. incarnafus can reproduce zygogenetically and parthenogenetically and the mode of parthenogenetic reproduction was an arrhenotokous parasitoid.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of photodynamic therapy (PDT) using erythrosine and a green light emitting diode (LED) light source on biofilms of Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans attached to resorbable blasted media (RBM) and sandblasted, large-grit, acid-etched (SLA) titanium surfaces in vitro. Methods: RBM and SLA disks were subdivided into four groups, including one control group and three test groups (referred to as E0, E30, E60), in order to evaluate the effect of PDT on each surface. The E0 group was put into $500{\mu}L$ of $20{\mu}M$ erythrosine for 60 seconds without irradiation, the E30 group was put into erythrosine for 60 seconds and was then irradiated with a LED for 30 seconds, and the E60 group was put into erythrosine for 60 seconds and then irradiated with a LED for 60 seconds. After PDT, sonication was performed in order to detach the bacteria, the plates were incubated under anaerobic conditions on brucella blood agar plates for 72 hours at $37^{\circ}C$, and the number of colony-forming units (CFUs) was determined. Results: Significant differences were found between the control group and the E30 and E60 groups (P<0.05). A significantly lower quantity of CFU/mL was found in the E30 and E60 groups on both titanium disk surfaces. In confocal scanning laser microscopy images, increased bacterial death was observed when disks were irradiated for a longer period of time. Conclusions: These findings suggest that PDT using erythrosine and a green LED is effective in reducing the viability of A. actinomycetemcomitans attached to surface-modified titanium in vitro.

  • Body temperature should be measured accurately to assess neonate's condition for proper care. Temperatures measured in rectal, axillary and tympanic site were compared in 129 normal neonates to find out proper nursing time for measuring temperature and the validity of fever detection. The results were as follows : 1. Mean temperatures of axillary and tympanic site($36.85^{\circ}C,\;37.12^{\circ}C$) were significantly lower than those of rectal site($37.19^{\circ}C$). 2. Mean nursing time for measuring body temperature was significantly higher and lower in axillary and tympanic temperatures(159.49 seconds, 11.07 seconds) than in rectal temperature(105.62 seconds). 3. Tympanic and axillary temperatures were significantly correlated with rectal temperature (r=0.85, r=0.78) and the significant correlation was demonstrated between tympanic and axillary temperatures(r=0.76). 4. Sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values were 0.87, 0.90, 0.72, 0.96 for detecting fever respectively. The above findings indicated that the tympanic thermometer offers a useful alternative to conventional methods.

  • Korean native Perilla Jangachi (salted and fermented vegetable) is popular and well-known but little study on its composition and most palatable condition has been reported. This study was performed to observe the change in the contents of chemical components and sensory evaluation of Perilla Jangachi which was prepared through two processing. First, as a pretreatment, Perilla leaves were soaked in salt water. The optimal level of salt concentration and soaking time (salt 4%, soaking time 42hours) was determined. Second, soaked Perilla Jangachi was steamed and then fermented in various ingredients like soy sauce, sugar, onion and so on. In this study, Perilla Jangachi was made by 3 levels of steaming time(30 seconds, 60 seconds, 90 seconds) and onion contents (10%, 30%, 50%). The optimal level of onion contents and steaming time was determined with the results of sensory evaluation by response surface methodology and analysis of composition. Sodium contents were decreased as the levels of onion contents were increased. Flavonoids contents weren't increased although contents of onion were increased. But they were influenced on steaming time that as the levels of steaming time were shortened, flavonoids contents were increased. To lengthen the shelf-life of Perilla Jangachi, the activities of enzyme peroxidase - which changes Jangachi's quality bad - by various levels of steaming time were measured. After steaming 50 seconds, peroxidase became inactive. Reducing sugar contents were decreased relying on either increased steaming time and onion contents. While steaming 30 seconds and 10% onion contents, the content of reducing sugar was 0.858% but steaming 90 seconds and 50% onion contents, it became 0.372%. Among the sensory attributes, brownness was increased as onion contents increased and steaming more than 60 seconds. Saltiness, sweetness, perilla flavor were greater relying on decreased onion contents. Toughness was decreased as both the amounts of onion and steaming time were increased. With this results, the most optimal adding level of onion content and steaming time was determined. Steaming 72 seconds and adding onion 27% was established as a optimal condition of Perilla Jangachi.

  • PURPOSE. Topographic analysis of treated ceramics provides qualitative information regarding the surface texture affecting the micromechanical retention and locking of resin-ceramics. This study aims to compare the surface microstructure following different surface treatments of feldspathic porcelain. MATERIALS AND METHODS. This in-vitro study was conducted on 72 porcelain discs randomly divided into 12 groups (n=6). In 9 groups, feldspathic surfaces were subjected to sandblasting at 2, 3 or 4 bar pressure for 5, 10 or 15 seconds with $50{\mu}m$ alumina particles at a 5 mm distance. In group 10, 9.5% hydrofluoric acid (HF) gel was applied for 120 seconds. In group 11, specimens were sandblasted at 3 bar pressure for 10 seconds and then conditioned with HF. In group 12, specimens were first treated with HF and then sandblasted at 3 bar pressure for 10 seconds. All specimens were then evaluated under scanning electron microscopy (SEM) at different magnifications. RESULTS. SEM images of HF treated specimens revealed deep porosities of variable sizes; whereas, the sandblasted surfaces were more homogenous and had sharper peaks. Increasing the pressure and duration of sandblasting increased the surface roughness. SEM images of the two combined techniques showed that in group 11 (sandblasted first), HF caused deeper porosities; whereas in group 12 (treated with HF first) sandblasting caused irregularities with less homogeneity. CONCLUSION. All surface treatments increased the surface area and caused porous surfaces. In groups subjected to HF, the porosities were deeper than those in sandblasted only groups.

  • A 57-year-old male patient had myeloma. He had severe pain in the left clavicle that did not respond to radiotherapy; therefore, it was treated with radiofrequency thermal ablation (RFTA). Under fluoroscopic guidance, two RF needles at a distance of 1.5 cm from each other were inserted into the mass and conventional radiofrequency ($90^{\circ}C$ and 60 seconds) at two different depths (1 cm apart) was applied. Then, 2 ml of 0.5% ropivacaine along with triamcinolone 40 mg was injected in each needle. The visual analogue pain score (VAS from 0 to 10) was decreased from 8 to 0. In the next 3 months of follow-up, the patient was very satisfied with the procedure and the mass gradually became smaller. There were no complications. This study shows that RFTA could be a useful method for pain management in painful osteolytic myeloma lesions in the clavicle

  • PURPOSE. This study was to evaluate the effect of repeated ultrasonic scaling and surface polishing with intraoral polishing kits on the surface roughness of three different restorative materials. MATERIALS AND METHODS. A total of 15 identical discs were fabricated with three different materials. The ultrasonic scaling was conducted for 20 seconds on the test surfaces. Subsequently, a multi-step polishing with recommended intraoral polishing kit was performed for 30 seconds. The 3D profiler and scanning electron microscopy were used to investigate surface integrity before scaling (pristine), after scaling, and after surface polishing for each material. Non-parametric Friedman and Wilcoxon signed rank sum tests were employed to statistically evaluate surface roughness changes of the pristine, scaled, and polished specimens. The level of significance was set at 0.05. RESULTS. Surface roughness values before scaling (pristine), after scaling, and polishing of the metal alloys were $3.02{\pm}0.34{\mu}m$, $2.44{\pm}0.72{\mu}m$, and $3.49{\pm}0.72{\mu}m$, respectively. Surface roughness of lithium disilicate increased from $2.35{\pm}1.05{\mu}m$ (pristine) to $28.54{\pm}9.64{\mu}m$ (scaling), and further increased after polishing ($56.66{\pm}9.12{\mu}m$, P<.05). The zirconia showed the most increase in roughness after scaling (from $1.65{\pm}0.42{\mu}m$ to $101.37{\pm}18.75{\mu}m$), while its surface roughness decreased after polishing ($29.57{\pm}18.86{\mu}m$, P<.05). CONCLUSION. Ultrasonic scaling significantly changed the surface integrities of lithium disilicate and zirconia. Surface polishing with multi-step intraoral kit after repeated scaling was only effective for the zirconia, while it was not for lithium disilicate.

  • This study is intended to examine the effect of photoluminescent exit signs in the event of failure of both the power to the lighting and illuminated exit sign. To achieve the purpose, the test house was exhibited in Fire EXPO '05. 520 visitors were examined from May 26-29, 2005. The results of this study are as follows; The evacuation from buildings in dark conditions showed that $70\%$ of men and $72\%$ of women were crawled along the wall. Meanwhile, $88\%$ of men and $83\%$ of women were evacuated with ordinary walking in photoluminescent exit signs. The egress time was shortened from 53 seconds to 64 seconds in accordance with age, height and visual power. The photoluminescent exit signs located on public buildings floors will aid in evacuation from buildings in the event of failure of the power to the lightings and illuminated exit signs.
