  • Let H be an arbitrary complex Hilbert space. We constructed an extension K of H by means of weakly convergent sequences in H and the Banach limit. Let .phi. be the faithful *-representation of L(H) on K. In this note, we investigated the relations between spectra of T in L(H) and .phi.(T) in L(K) and we obtained the following results: 1) If T is a compact operator on H, then .phi.(T) is also a compact operator on K (Proposition 6), 2) .sigma.$_{l}$ (.phi.(T)).contnd..sigma.$_{l}$ (T) for any operator T.mem.L(H) (Corollary 10), 3) For every operator T.mem.L(H), .sigma.$_{ap}$ (.phi.(T))=.sigma.$_{ap}$ (T))=.sigma.$_{ap}$ (T)=.sigma.$_{p}$(.phi.(T)) (Lemma 12, 13) and .sigma.$_{c}$(.phi.(T))=.sigma.(Theorem 15).15).

  • The quality improvement methodology Six Sigma gained enormous international popularity in the past few years, mainly due to its successful implementation at General Electric. Six Sigma is now commonly understood not only as a statistical measure for process performance (6$\sigma$ stands for 3.4 defects per million opportunities) to improve product quality but it has also become a strategic initiative undertaken by many organisations to improve management quality. In the centre of the Six Sigma methodology is the improvement project, often referred to as Black Belt or Green Belt project. Although every business is different and business priorities differ from company to company, however all businesses face the same problem when it comes to Six Sigma projects: How to choose the right project\ulcorner This article intends to provide some answers to this and other frequently asked questions about Six Sigma projects.

A Study on the Quality Improvement of Mechanical Drawing Notes Using Lean 6 Sigma Analysis (린 6시그마 분석을 통한 도면 주기 품질 향상 방안 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to find useful solutions by analyzing causes and results about defects on mechanical drawing notes and provide an automated tool with solutions to mechanical engineers. Methods: The collected data for defects on mechanical drawing notes were from ongoing development and mass production projects. Various measurement methods were used based on the Lean 6 Sigma analysis such as Process analysis, C&E diagram and some statistical analysis. Results: The results of this study are as follows; The results of the Lean 6 Sigma analysis, the validity of the selected indicators for improving drawing notes quality was verified through the verification of cause variables. The strategy established to improve the mechanical drawing notes was reflected as an automated program, and the defects were within a manageable range and achieved target Sigma level. Conclusion: Through the application of the "Mechanical drawing notes automation tool", it is expected to resolve the "Voice of Customer, VOC" and "Voice of Business, VOB".

A Study on Solving Engineering Problems of a Piece-removing System using 6-Sigma DMADOV Technique with ARIZ & Brainstorming (6시그마 DMADOV기반 아리즈와 브레인스토밍을 이용한 취부용 피스제거 시스템의 공학문제 해결에 관한연구)

  • This paper presents a new design algorithm for piece-removing dynamical system, based on 6-Sigma DMADOV technique using ARIZ and Brainstorming. Our design target is the piece-removing system installed on a mobile platform of bead-grinding equipment. The 6-Sigma DMADOV technique guides us design process according to 6 steps, i.e., Define - Measure - Analyze - Design - Optimize - Verify. A Design strategy to reduce the weight of piece-removing dynamical system will be explored by using ARIZ, i.e.,(the abbreviation of Algorithm for Inventive Problem Solving in Russian). The ARIZ will result in a final solution that the height and angle control parts for a cutting tool should be replaced by a kinematical approach, rather than complicated mechatronic approach(using motors). The Optimize step is composed of two sub-steps: (i) Generating process for obtaining several ideas of piece-removing system by using Brainstorming technique, satisfying the final solution derived from the Design step using ARIZ, and (ii) Optimizing process for selecting the most optimal idea of piece-removing system by using Pugh's matrix from the viewpoints of weight, cost and accuracy. The laststep of Verify has shown that the final design obtained by the 6-Sigma DMADOV technique with ARIZ & Brainstormingcan improve an initial design with design requirements satisfied. In this paper, we have shown that ARIZ and Brainstorming can be cooperatively merged into 6-Sigma DMADOV to give us both a formulatedproblem-solving approach and diverse candidate solutions(or ideas) without trial-and-error efforts.

  • In this thesis, we suggest questionnaire which is designed to understand of what employees include executive think about 6 sigma management movement and to find important factor for strategic of success 6 sigma management movement of K. Corporation. This thesis is composed of 2 parts, one is questionnaire design and the other is questionnaire analysis. We find important factor for strategic of success 6 sigma management movement of K. Corporation by using correlation and regression analysis, which results very useful and great help for K's Co. In questionnaire analysis, we use by minitab package version 13.2.

  • Nowadays, most industries take $B_{6\sigma}$ quality level as a goal of the ultimate quality level of their products. On the other hand, $B_{10}$ to life indicates the time that $10\%$ of products are failed. There is no relation between the $B_{6\sigma}$ quality level and the $B_{10}$ to life. Therefore, some industries perform their quality control activities and reliability engineering activities separately. So I propose one measure which can express quality and reliability level simultaneously for the products to pursue quality and reliability activities together in the industry.

  • Many factors, such as welding current, welding time, force, electrode shape, the output stability of a welding machine, are closely related with micro spot series welding. Of those factors, the output stability evaluation of the welding machine would be checked first. in this study, we applied 6$\sigma$ to evaluation for the output stability of the welding machine. We estimated output stability and control stability of the welding machine by using Cp(process capability), Ppk and 4-block diagram. Therefore the problem as solved in micro spot series welding process and the problem of output control in welding machine by 6$\sigma$ tool.

  • The effects of linear free energy relationship (LFER) on the imidoyl proton (H${\alpha}$)-substituent chemical shift (SCS) in case of varying para-substituted C-phenyl group in N-benzylideneaniline derivatives were studied. The H${\alpha}$-SCS values and LFER parameters such as ${\sigma}$,${\sigma}^+$, ${\sigma}_I$,${\sigma}_R, F and R were applied to the Hammett, Okamoto-Brown, and Taft, Swain-Lupton's dual substituents parameter (DSP) equations. The results were: (1) the blending coefficient values, ${\lambda}$ = 2.8∼3.2, it's means that the resonance effect (R) was larger than inductive effect (I) and field effect (F), and (2) the values of percent resonance and percent field effects were %R = 66.6 and %F = 33.4, respectively, yielding the ratio of resonance effect (R) to field effect (F) of 2 : 1.
