Kinematic and kinetic analysis has been performed for Soft Golf swings utilizing realistic three dimensional computer simulations based on three dimensional motion tracking data. Soft Golf is a newly developed recreational sport in South Korea aimed to become a safe and easy-to-learn sport for all ages. The advantage of Soft Golf stems from lighter weight of the club and much larger area of the sweet spot. This paper tries to look into kinematic and kinetic aspects of soft golf swings compared to regular golf swing and find the advantages of lighter Soft Golf clubs. For this purpose, swing motions of older aged participants were captured and kinematic analysis was performed for various kinematic parameters such as club head velocity, joint angular velocity, and joint range of motions as a pilot study. Kinetic analysis was performed by applying kinematic data to computer simulation models constructed from anthropometric database and the measurements from the participants. The simulations were solved using multi-body dynamics solver. Firstly, the kinematic parameters such as joint angles were obtained by solving inverse dynamics problem based on motion tracking data. Secondly, the kinetic parameters such as joint torques were obtained by solving control dynamics problem of making joint torque to follow pre-defined joint angle data. The results showed that mechanical loadings to major joints were reduced with lighter Soft Golf club.

The assessment of wind-induced motion plays an important role in the development and design of the majority of today's structures that push the limits of engineering knowledge. A vital part of the design is the prediction of wind-induced tall building motion and the assessment of its effects on occupant comfort. Little of the research that has led to the development of the various international standards for occupant comfort criteria have considered the effects of the low-frequency motion on task performance and interference with building occupants' daily activities. It has only recently become more widely recognized that it is no longer reasonable to assume that the level of motion that a tall building undergoes in a windstorm will fall below an occupants' level of perception and little is known about how this motion perception could also impact on task performance. Experimental research was conducted to evaluate the performance of individuals engaged in a manual tracking task while subjected to low level vibration in the frequency range of 0.125 Hz-0.50 Hz. The investigations were carried out under narrow-band random vibration with accelerations ranging from 2 milli-g to 30 milli-g (where 1 milli-g = 0.0098 $m/s^2$) and included a control condition. The frequencies and accelerations simulated are representative of the level of motion expected to occur in a tall building (heights in the range of 100 m -350 m) once every few months to once every few years. Performance of the test subjects with and without vibration was determined for 15 separate test conditions and evaluated in terms of time taken to complete a task and accuracy per trial. Overall, the performance under the vibration conditions did not vary significantly from that of the control condition, nor was there a statistically significant degradation or improvement trend in performance ability as a function of increasing frequency or acceleration.
This paper presents a real-time motion restoration system for people who need remedial exercise of musculoskeletal based on Inverse Kinematics. A new approach is suggested to recognize a gesture based on restored human motion which is calculated the 3D positions of intermediate joints using 3D positions of body features estimated from images. For generating the 3D candidate positions of intermediate joints which cannot be extracted from images, we apply an Inverse Kinematics theory to compute the target position of intermediate joints. And we can reduce the number of candidate positions by applying the various physical constraints of body. Finally, we can generate the more accurate final position using the Kalman filter for a motion tracking and the relationship between the previous frame information and the candidate positions. The system provide motion information which are rotation angle and height in real-time, therefore the rehabilitation exercises can be performed based on the information and figured out proper exercise for individual status.

In this work, a robot aimed at grapping and delivering an object by using a simple finger-pointing command from a hand- or arm-handicapped person is introduced. In this robot system, a Leap Motion sensor is utilized to obtain the finger-motion data of the user. In addition, a Kinect sensor is also used to measure the 3D (Three Dimensional)-position information of the desired object. Once the object is pointed at through the finger pointing of the handicapped user, the exact 3D information of the object is determined using an image processing technique and a coordinate transformation between the Leap Motion and Kinect sensors. It was found that the information obtained is transmitted to the robot controller, and that the robot eventually grabs the target and delivers it to the handicapped person successfully.

This paper presents the motion planning of robotic vehicles for the path tracking and the obstacle avoidance. To follow the given path, the vehicle moves through the turning radius obtained through the pure pursuit method, which is a geometric path tracking method. In this paper, we assume that the vehicle is equipped with a 2D laser scanner, allowing it to avoid obstacles within its sensing range. The turning radius for avoiding the obstacle, which is inversely proportional to the virtual force, is then calculated. Therefore, these two kinds of the turning radius are used to generate the steering angle for the front wheel of the vehicle. And the vehicle reduces the velocity when it meets the obstacle or the large steering angle using the potentials of obstacle points and the steering angle. Thus the motion planning of the vehicle is done by planning the steering angle for the front wheels and the velocity. Finally, the performance of the proposed method is tested through simulation.
In this paper, a novel system for avatar motion controlling by tracking face is presented. The system is composed of three main parts: firstly, LCS (Local Cluster Searching) method based face feature detection algorithm, secondly, HMM based feature points recognition algorithm, and finally, avatar controlling and animation generation algorithm. In LCS method, face region can be divided into many small piece regions in horizontal and vertical direction. Then the method will judge each cross point that if it is an object point, edge point or the background point. The HMM method will distinguish the mouth, eyes, nose etc. from these feature points. Based on the detected facial feature points, the 3D avatar is controlled by two ways: avatar orientation and animation, the avatar orientation controlling information can be acquired by analyzing facial geometric information; avatar animation can be generated from the face feature points smoothly. And finally for evaluating performance of the developed system, we implement the system on Window XP OS, the results show that the system can have an excellent performance.

Application systems that easy to access a information have been developed by IT growth and a human life variation. In this paper, we propose a application system to register a 3D footwear model using a monocular camera. In General, a human motion analysis research to body movement. However, this system research a new method to use a foot movement. This paper present a system process and show experiment results. For projection to 2D foot plane from 3D shoe model data, we construct processes that a foot tracking, a projection expression and pose estimation process. This system divide from a 2D image analysis and a 3D pose estimation. First, for a foot tracking, we propose a method that find fixing point by a foot characteristic, and propose a geometric expression to relate 2D coordinate and 3D coordinate to use a monocular camera without a camera calibration. We make a application system, and measure distance error. Then, we confirmed a registration very well.

The purpose of this paper is to develop simulations that can be used for virtual education in dentistry. The virtual education to be developed will be developed with clinical training and actual case data of tooth extraction. This development goal is to allow dental students to learn the necessary surgical techniques at the point of their choice, not going into the operating room, away from time, space, and physical limits. I want to develop content using VR. Oculus Rift HMD, Optical Based Outside-in Tracking System, Oculus Touch Motion Controller, and Headset as Input / Output Device. In this configuration, the optimization method is applied convergent, and when the operation of the VR contents is performed, the content data is extracted from the interaction analysis formed in the VR engine, and the data is processed by the content algorithm. It also computes events and dental operations generated within the 3D engine programming and generates corresponding events through data processing according to the input signal. The visualization information is output to the HMD using the rendering information. In addition, the operating room environment was constructed by studying lighting and material for actual operating room environment. We applied the ratio of actual space to virtual space and the ratio between character and actual person to create a spatial composition at a similar rate to actual space.
A 3D camera-based on-site work-related musculoskeletal disorder risk assessment(WMDs) tool has been developed. The device consists of Kinect a 3D camera manufactured by Microsoft, a servo-motor, and a mobile robot. To complement inherent narrow field of view(FOV) of Kinect, Kinect is rotated according to PID servo-control algorithm by a servo-motor attached underneath, to track movement of a subject, producing skeleton-based motion data. With servo-control, full 360 degrees tracking of a test subject is possible by single Kinect. It was found from experimental tests that the proposed device can be successfully employed for on-site WMDs risk assessing tool.

Gait analysis is an examination which extracts objective information from observing human gait and assesses the function. The equipments used recently for gait analysis are expensive due to multiple cameras and force plates, and require the large space to set up the system. In this paper, we proposed a method to measure human gait motions in 3D from a monocular video. Our approach was based on particle filtering to track human motion without training data and previous information about a gait. We used dynamics to make physics-based motions with the consideration of contacts between feet and base. In a walking sequence, our approach showed the mean angular error of $12.4^{\circ}$ over all joints, which was much smaller than the error of $34.6^{\circ}$ with the conventional particle filter. These results showed that a monocular camera is able to replace the existing complicated system for measuring human gait quantitatively.
