Piezoelectric and Electric Field Induced Strain Properties of PMW-PNN-PZT Ceramics with the Substitution of Ba (Ba 치환에 따른 PMW-PNN-PZT 세라믹스의 압전 및 전계유기왜형 특성)

  • To develop the piezoelectric actuator, the structural, dielectric and piezoelectric properties and electric fieldinduced strain of the ceramics(Pb$\_$1-2/Ba$\_$x/)[Mg$\_$1/2/W$\_$1/2/)$\_$0.03/-Ni$\_$1/3/Nb$\_$2/3/)$\_$0.12/-(Zr$\_$0.5/Ti$\_$0.5/)$\_$0.85/]O$_3$(x=0, 0.01, 0.03, 0.05, 0.07, 0.1) were investigated with the substitution of Ba. The tetragonality of crystal structure and grain size decreased by the substitution of Ba. Curie temperature decreased due to the decrease of the tetragonality, and dielectric constants increased with the substitution of Ba. The coercive field, remnant polarization and electromechanical coupling factor also decreased, whereas the piezoelectric constatns d$\_$33/ and d$\_$31/ were showed the highest value of 430 and 209(x10$\^$-12/C/N), respectively, because of the increase of dielectric constant. The strain induced by 60Hz AC electric field had the maximum value of 204x10$\^$-6/Δℓ/ℓ at the substitution of Ba 3mol%. As the applied electric field approaches to the coercive field, the piezoelectric element is depolarized and the electric field induced strain revealed non-linearity.

  • The polycrystalline superconductor $SmBa_2$$Cu_3$$O_{x}$ is fabricated, and intergranular magnetic properties are investigated using the critical state model, from which some useful parameters such as the critical current density and the intergranular volume fraction are obtained. The curve fitting for M-H hysteresis loop shows that the intergranular critical current density of $SmBa_2$$Cu_3$$O_{x}$ / decreases in the form of ($1-T/T_{c}$ )$^{1.5}$ . The intergranular volume fraction is influenced by granular morphology. From SEM image, the grains of $SmBa_2$$Cu_3$$O_{x}$ are found to be randomly shaped. This mean:; that the intergranular volume fraction of $SmBa_2$$Cu_3$$O_{x}$ / should be smaller than those of superconductors, of which grains are plate-shaped such as Tl-based superconductor.

  • A solvothermal synthetic method to $BaTiO_3$ nanoparticle has been investigated in toluene solution with $BaTi(OR)_6$ as precursor. A precursor prepared from barium metal with toluene, isopropanol and titanium isopropoxide was used as a starting material. Weight ratio of precursor to solvent prepared in the mixture are 5/100, 10/100, 20/100 and 50/100wt%. At the weight ratio of 50/100wt%, $BaTiO_3$ butterfly twin crystalline(${\fallingdotseq}100nm$) was obtained after synthesis at $250^{\circ}C$ for 20hrs in an autoclave. X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy showed that the product of 50/100wt% has crystallization. At 5/100, 10/100, and 20/100wt%, however, red colloidal solution was obtained after synthesis and crystalline phase of $BaTiO_3$ was not produced.

  • Callus and shoot formation from medicinal crop, Lycium chinense Mill. cv. 'Cheongyang', as influenced by various media, explant sources and plant growth regulators were investigated. The rate of shoots formation, number of shoots, and fresh weight of shoots were the best on MS medium followed by B$_{5}$, WPH, and SH. Callus induction was more effective in leaf than internode segments, and was the best on MS medium containing 0.5 mg/L NAA with 0.2 mg/L BA. Effects of plant growth regulators in shoot formation were more effective in BA than TDA combined with NAA. Shoot formation from callus induced in leaf and internode segments was the best on MS medium containing 0.01 mg/L NAA with 0.2 mg/L BA.

  • The $BaTiO_{3}+xNb_{2}O_{5}$[x=6, 8, 10wt%] ceramics were prepared by conventional mixed oxide method. The structural properties of the $BaTiO_{3}+xNb_{2}O_{5}$ ceramics with the sintering temperature and addition of $Nb_{2}O_{5}$ were investigated by XRD and SEM. Increasing the sintering temperature, the $2{\Theta}$ value of BT (110) peak was shifted to the lower degree and intensity of the BN (310) peak was increased. Increasing the addition of $Nb_{2}O_{5}$, the intensity of BN (100) peak was decreased and BN (310), (110) peaks were increased. The grain size of the $BaTiO_{3}+xNb_{2}O_{5}$ ceramics sintered at $1350^{\circ}C$ were almost uniform. In the $BaTiO_{3}+xNb_{2}O_{5}$ ceramics sintered at $1350^{\circ}C$, the dielectric constant and dielectric loss were 5424, 0.02 respectively.

  • In this study, the sputtered BTO film was polished by CMP process with the self-developed $BaTiO_3$- and $TiO_2$-mixed abrasives slurries (MAS), respectively. The removal rate of BTO ($BaTiO_3$) thin film using the $BaTiO_3$-mixed abrasive slurry (BTO-MAS) was higher than that using the $TiO_2$-mixed abrasives slurry ($TiO_2$-MAS) in the same concentrations. The maximum removal rate of BTO thin film was 848 nm/min with an addition of $BaTiO_3$ abrasive at the concentration of 3 wt%. The sufficient within-wafer non-uniformity (WIWNU%) below 5% was obtained in each abrsive at all concentrations. The surface morphology of polished BTO thin film was investigated by atomic force microscopy (AFM).

  • $\beta$-BaB2O4는 고출력 가시광선 및 적외선을 발진시키는데 유용한, 비선형 특성을 가진 물질이다. $\alpha$-$\beta$ 상전이 온도가 녹는점보다 18$0^{\circ}C$ 낮기 때문에 보통 flux법으로 단결정을 성장시킨다. 수년전 Itoh등은 $\beta$-BaB2O4단결정을 congruent조성의 용액으로부터 Czochralski법으로 metastable한 상태에서 직접 성장시켰다. 그렇지만 그 공정은 잘 이해되지 않고 있으며 재현하기가 매우 어렵다. 저자들은 $\beta$-BaB2O4단결정을 용액표면온도도 1034$^{\circ}$-1085$^{\circ}C$, pulling rate 3mm/h, 10-30 rpm의 범위에서 성장시켰으며 융액표면의 온도구배는 $\beta$-상으로 성장시키는데 매우 중요한 인자로 여겨진다. Seed로는 직경 1-2mm의 c축방향 $\beta$-BaB2O4단결정 봉이 상용되어 성장방향을 조절하고 열응력을 최소화시켰다. 성장된 $\beta$-상의 단결정들은 6-fold모양을 하며 표면에 작은 비늘같은 것들이 붙어있고 중심부에 core가 있는 것을 알았다. Flux법으로 성장시킨 $\beta$-BaB2O4단결정을 사용한 seeds는 단결정 성장 및 냉각 중에 cracks이 자주 발생하였으며, boule의 cracks은 afterheater를 사용할 경우 다소 줄일 수 있었다. 성장된 단결정의 광학특성이 측정되었다.

Preparation of C-plane oriented BaFe12O19 film by electrospray deposition of colloidal precursor particles (정전분무 장치를 이용한 C축 일방향 바륨페라이트(BaFe12O19) 박막형성)

  • New process consisting of electrospray and epitaxial crystal growth processes was applied to the preparation of c-plane oriented barium ferrite ($BaFe_{12}O_{19}$) thin film for high density magnetic recording media. Sodium citrate aided process was proper to preparation of amorphous $BaFe_{12}O_{19}$ nanoparticles with geometric mean diameter of 3 nm and geometric standard deviation of 1.1. The electrospray was applicable to the prepare of amorphous $BaFe_{12}O_{19}$ thin film on a substrate, and the film thickness could be controlled by adjusting the electrospray deposition time. The c-plane oriented $BaFe_{12}O_{19}$ thin film was successfully prepared by 3 step annealing process of the $BaFe_{12}O_{19}$ amorphous film on a sapphire($Al_2O_3$) substrate; annealing at $350^{\circ}C$ for 30 min, annealing at $500^{\circ}C$ for 30 min, and annealing at $700^{\circ}C$ for 60 min.

  • Nano-size $BaTiO_3$ powder was synthesized by relatively simple hydrothermal reaction method. Finely dispersed Ti hydroxide precursor was first precipitated using $Ti(SO_4)_2$ and NaOH solution by applying ultrasonic power and washed thoroughly to remove $SO_4{^{2-}}$ and $Na^+$ ion. Then hydrothermal reaction was done at $160^{\circ}C$ for 6 hrs using solution prepared by washed Ti hydroxide precursor slurry and $Ba(OH)_2{\cdot}8H_2O$ with Ti:Ba mole ratio of 1:1. 200 ~ 500 nm size and uniform size distributed $BaTiO_3$ powder was synthesized by relatively low temperature and simple process.
